Ravens Fans In Washington, D.C.

27 posts in this topic

Hi,

My friends and I live in DC and are looking to get fellow Ravens fans in and around The District organized on Sundays (or Mondays) to watch games this season. We've set up a twitter account: www.twitter.com/DC_Ravens_Fans (or search for "DC_Ravens_Fans") where we'll post where we're going that week to watch the game. If you're a Ravens fan in or around D.C., join us. If you know of a good bar to watch Ravens games at in D.C., let us know. If you have questions, ask us. We can be reached via email: DC.Ravens.Fans@gmail.com

Thanks Rav'n Maniac' for the welcome to The Flock. It's great to be here. Hopefully some more D.C. Ravens Fans will join up and help paint the Nation's Capitol Purple and Black.

Hi.... I am Not in DC but I am pretty close.... I am actually in Hyattsville/college park and I dont get any baltimore channels. So I have been trying to figure out how to watch the games .... I am sure I will get some but there are at least 2 that are same channel same time that are for sure problems. I moved from the Columbia area in Nov so i almost missed some of last season.

I am the long time Baltimore Ravens' fan live in Wheaton, MD for who don't know it's between Silver Spring and Rockville.

Use to wear the sweater in middle school back in 1996.
Loved when Jerry "The King" Lawler put it on.
Got Mad when Giant, Safeway, and other stores near D.C. put up banner saying "Go Ravens!" SB XXV
Boss hated me because he's a Steelers' fan.
My Half-Sister is a Redskins' fan.
My Half-Brother is a Cowboys' fan
And my Step-Brother is a Texans' fan
Weird family huh...lol

I want to have a Raven's Get Together
Who's going FedEx Field Aug. 21

I will be there taking the Metro from Grosvenor and will be sitting in Lower Level Sideline Section 120 Row 16 Seat 17 at FedEx Field. I'm also responsible for the Facebook Page for the Proposed Ravens Roost of Montgomery County. I think between the three fan groups out there in the DC area, the Montgomery Roost, the DC Ravens Fans group and a Montgomery County Ravens Meetup Group, there should be some fan activities at least for road game watching this regular season.

I got a 50 yl seat at the Redskins Touchdown Club, and pre-game Field Pass, plus a good friend who is a Landover NFL team fan who leases a suite (if I can figure out how to get up there). I will be sitting with a Landover fan, and will have to wear neutral colors due to the pregame pass restrictions.

My son, his GF, and two buddies will be sitting in lower obstructed view seats early in the first half, then work their way over to better seats as vacancies materialize.

So that's five of us. Typically, there will be thousands of Ravens fans who make the pilgrammage to FedEx. It's like driving by an accident and trying to not stare -- something about playing at Raljon Field gets Ravens fans up for the drive.

If you have a precise location for tailgating, post it and we'll swing by if possible.

Hey! I'm a Ravens fan in Arlington, VA... which might as well be DC. You know, there's enough of us... why not get the DC/MD/VA folks together in one spot? We may just have enough to be a Ravens Roost!

I'll be at the game Thursday, AND at Six Flags Over Dan Snyder on the 21st. We lucked into the "Dream Seats" in section 26, just behind the Ravens Bench! Can't wait to wear my Purple and Gold into that stadium...B)

You might be right about there being enough people to form a Ravens Roost, there are about 18 or 19 fans who have signed up with MoCo Raven's Montgomery County Ravens Roost, we need 7 or more fans to get apply for membership into the Council, I have been helping out on the effort running ads on Craigslist and running the Facebook Page which has been updated. What we need is a meeting place like a restaurant or a bar somewhere in the DC area, we almost have the numbers to pull it off now.

I just moved to Prince George County, which is basically the DC area, from Akron, Ohio. But I've been a Ravens fan since the very beginning. (I grew up hating the browns, so I was thrilled when Modell made the move) I'm in for finding a place where all ravens fans in the area can gather to watch a game, for once I wouldn't be the lone wolf cheering for a team!

The Daily Hat Trick has a poll about the best matchups for this year. The Ravens-Bengals is an option, but we have NO VOTES!!! When Ray & Co. smash Ochostinko and T.O. in the mouth, they'll see. Let's unite and represent and vote for the Ravens!!!

Last year the Mason Inn in the Glover Park section of Washington, DC was a Ravens bar, but I'm not sure about this year. McFadden's is now a Patriots-Panthers bar. They really stunk as a Ravens bar after the third game of the season the year they allegedly supported the Ravens. The last straw was when they had two Monday night games at the same time as one of the Giants games was moved to Monday night due to snow. That game was still carried on Sunday ticket and the Ravens Monday night game was on ESPN and all the Ravens fans complained that they didn't have the sound on for the Ravens game.

As for me due to poor weekend DC Metro service I just go to a bar in Bethesda called The Barking Dog to watch the Ravens games. Its not a Ravens bar, although they do have the sound for the Ravens game if the Redskins aren't playing at the same time. I just go because they have all you can eat nachos and wings and either Bud Light or soda for $20 for one game or $30 if you stay for the 4 o'clock games as well. One of the owners I hear is a Ravens season ticket holder.

Seeing as I'm a personal trainer I don't wanna be diving into nachos and wings while also consuming beers lol. Gotta have one or the other in my case.

I just know the Dupont/Woodley/Adams Morgan area is loaded with tons of bars...and I'm just looking to see if there is a group of us already going to a location, or if I can rally up some folks and have a good time. I personally like Buffalo Billiards. Full service bar, tons of billiards to help kill half time, and enough TV's that we can't lose. I guess sound at that point would be the issue if the Redskins were on though. Ugh. I hate living out of market.

I did hear on another Ravens message board from someone who worked at WUSA Channel 9 that they would be showing 10 Ravens games this season which is the most that they have ever shown since the Ravens have moved here. Also their sports segments on the news is rumored to expand to cover the Ravens. If you can't find a good bar to watch the games this is good news for DC Ravens fans.

Ireland's Four Courts in arlington va, just announced that they were becoming a Ravens bar this season, Righ next door to the Courthouse metro and 50cent wings on sundays and 1/2 price appetizers. Plus they will be sponsoring a Ravens fan meet up group so there may be specials specifically for ravens fans. Thy have a ton of beers on tap and will be running drink specials for the game. They have a sister restaurant in Baltimore so this will be a great place to watch. Tons of tvs and surround sound. I know they are planning a Ravens meet up there for the first game and then will be offering one of their rooms for the sunday games! Im gonna be there!!

The NOVA/DC ravens fans meet up group met at Irelands Four Courts in arlington va for Monday nights game and there were about 30 of us, we plan on meeting there this sunday as well. The owner is 100% behind this being a Ravens bar so they will have a special NFL menu and drink specials, Full sound and at least 3 tvs dedicated to the game. they have the NFL package so they will be showing all the games and the atmosphere was awesome! literally steps from the metro.

The NOVA/DC Ravens Meetup group is going to meet this week at Rock Bottom Brewery in Ballston Commons, one of the members who is an owner is trying to turn this place into a Ravens bar. Free wings, 73 inch tv and a Baltimore favorites menu including Crab Dip and 2 dollar Natty Bohs in cans. Near the Ballston Metro and tons of low cost parking in the garage along with free parking on the street. That makes it 5 Ravens Bars in the DC area. RiRa's in Bethesda, The Pug and Mason Inn in DC and Rock Bottom and Ireland's Four Courts in Northern Virginia.

The Northern Virginia Ravens Meetup Group game watching event at Rock Bottom in Ballston Commons was a success! They had the back bar covered with Ravens banners and the food was excellent. They had a special menu for us. They will be doing the same thing for the Dallas game, so if you are a Ravens fan in the Northern Virginia and DC region and don't have a ticket for the Dallas game, you are invited to come on down. Its near the Ballston Metro and there is some on street free parking that is very limited, but there is a huge paid garage above the mall, just be patient getting out of the garage because it will take a few minutes in line to pay.

The Meetup group's website is at http://www.meetup.com/Baltimore-Ravens-Fan-Group-Virginia-DC-Metro-Chapter/ and RSVPs are recommended for this game watching event.
