Favorite Draft Spots

14 posts in this topic

Me, I like to draft from 3,4,6,7 or 8. They're good spots because of the fewer teams that draft between them. 1 and 10 would be my least favorite. You might get back to back picks, but you have to wait for all of the teams to draft twice before you, which is a lot of room to lose the player you want. Pretty much the same for 2 and 9. 5th I just don't like, i don't know what it is, it's just not my sweet spot.

3,4,6,7 and 8 are the sweet spots. There's few picks in between yours, and not as long of a waiting period. And as we all know, the longer the waiting period the better chance the player you want is going to get drafted. My draft is in 20 minutes, so this might just be me ranting. Your favorite picks?

Based on the mocks I've done, I drafted my best teams at pick 10. I can't explain it but have consistently come out of the draft with great teams with quality depth drafting from the 10th pick.

Depends how many people are in a league, obviously, but I like the middle spots. Maybe a 3 or 4. That way, I'm not sitting around for hours haha.

And I LOVE the new NFL.com mock drafts they run! Excellent idea! I'm doing two right now :242736:

If we're talking a ten team league, then I love picks 4-7 this year. In a couple of mocks, I feel my best picks come out at those numbers. Of course it depends on different situations, but I love the depth at the end of the second, so if I could get 1-7 or even 5, I'd be happy with my draft.

7th. Then I get my boy Andre Johnson usually.

I hate waiting for the snake. And when you have back to back picks you sometimes feel squeezed during the second pick.

I'd like to be in the top 3 this year.. the past few seasons my running backs have let me down, so I'd really like to get a top tier back this year. CJ, AP, or MJD would be great, then you also have an early 3rd rounder, too. RB is a lot deeper than WR this year, and my league really puts a high emphasis on QB, so I'd like to go RB, then take a QB and WRs in the next 3 or 4 rounds before taking a second RB.. that's just me, though

I had my first fantasy football experience last year on NFL.com, drafted in the 11th spot out of 12 teams. Came out with a stacked team and ended up winning.

McNabb, Roethisberger, D. Williams, Rice, Mcgahee, V-Jax, Reggie Wayne, Ochocinco, Ward, Mason, Vernon Davis we're all on my team haha.

I am convinced that 8-10 is the worst spot in this year's draft. Usually come pick 8/9/10 your best choices at RB are Stephen Jackson, DeAngelo Williams or Mendenhall. IMO these guys are best suited to be drafted 11-12 (or second round). Andre Johnson is gone. And the earliest I want to draft Moss or Wayne is probably 12th. You can always snag a top QB between 8-10, but I'm not a fan.

My favorite spot would be #7. Because I'd come away with either Gore or Andre Johnson. I don't mind the 12-13 or 11-14 picks either because Moss/Wayne and Mendenhall are usually available. You could also just go Moss and Wayne. And get McCoy or Addai in the next round. Then Dallas Clark is sitting for you in the early 4th if you want.

And the best early round pick is #3. Skip right past the hulubaloo of Johnson/Peterson and get MJD who could be the best back in football this year.

People constantly look past MJD and it will always be a bad decision. He's very underrated.

If I'm in the top 4 I'm divided on if I should take a RB or get Andre Johnson. If MJD falls to me its hard not to take him, then again Johnson will be gone by the time I get my 2nd round pick. But if I'm the 5th pick and Rice falls to me, I'm taking Rice no matter what.

If you have the 4th pick, I don't think it's question you take Rice. McGahee will get some touches but Rice is one of the best dual-threat RBs in the league.
