My Madden 10 (Soon To Be 11) Scheme W/ Bmore

What's up folks? After using the Tampa Bay playbook for the past month or so, I decided it was good enough to share with my other raven gamers. The TB off playbook is my preferred book for its versatility. It has a good mix of "****" plays and good mismatches to use in varying situations.

Split back

I like this formation with rice and mcgahee as RB with heap in the slot. I usually pass out of this formation with the opp is blitzing or using man cov. I run with its cool automtions on zone def.

Single back
Look for the TE cross under the 2TE 2WR set. It is money!! Heap will cross behind smith right at the middle linebacker area. If you get it timed right, he will get under the Safety zone if any, and you'll pick up at least 15 yds.

Also out of single back is X Follow. Forget the formation but once you find it, motion heap to the left and try to time the throw to rice so he is either right before the LoS or has beat his man(usually a lb but watch for contains and 3rd DBs)

Out of the Strong and weak formations, I hardly ever use PA but these have ones not found in some PBs.

The shotgun sets in this playbook are pretty ordinary but with all of the plays, take advantage of the automotion plays. (Green line) Your opp will try to audible to a blitz, screen coverage, or zone def. Just look for the D to man up or stay in zone before snap!

Ravens D

Preferred Playbook: NYJ. Sadly with rex ryan gone to the big apple, the ravens don't have the most versatile d playbook. I use this PB for its varying 3-4, 1-5-5, and dime setups. With 1-5-5, choose SS zone Blitz. It's my "**** D" play. All you have to do is put landry on the outside hip of the RT and re-blitz.

Don't try to be TOO fancy with the D, as blitzing ray lewis on a pass play won't do jack. I've found that JJ at RE,Ngata at DT (NT), and Pryce at LE is my best dline. Setting JJ on weakside contains does very well against people in 2 RB shotgun sets when they use quick screen or flat throws. I've logged probably 10 pick 6s with him. Don't be afraid to manually blitz the younger/lower LBs when you do blitz. If you have Ray and Ed in zone coverage somewhere, chances are youll pressure the OPP into throwing quickly.

If ya have any questions about the short stuff I covered, you can find me on xbox @ Xx7Alucard13xX. I'll be checkin this thread also!

I've come to basically master the Ravens offense and defense playbooks in Madden 10.

I have to disagree. Trevor Pryce is 92 at DT. At 64 Speed and 75 Pursuit, Trevor's liability at DE would come during sweep plays or any other outside runs. If Ngata is left at his original position, and JJ is moved to DE, the D-Line ratings for a 3-4 are 90, 92 and 96, as opposed to 90, 99 and 85. However, with JJ's Awareness, Play Recognition and Zone Coverage, he is still a better asset as OLB. Thus switching either Kruger or Barnes, has always been successful in my prior experiences. If the person typically controls a DE, either are an excellent option, as Barnes excels due to his speed, and although Kruger isn't as fast, his 88 Block Shedding rating allows him to constantly penetrate without breaking a sweat.

Kruger seems to have the most success for me on the LE as Barnes seems to be a little to weak to get around those tackles in the game. Suggs-Ngata-Pryce-Kruger-Johnson is how I run my front line.

I definitely understand, considering Barnes' Block Shedding, Finesse/Power Moves are relatively low. But if you use him yourself, he can shed almost every block if the timing is right, although that goes for every player. I would still suggest leaving Suggs at OLB. For some strange reason, he gets an INT in practically every game, even with his 55 Zone Coverage. Just a suggestion though.

Yea I leave Suggs and JJ where they are, that's my front 5 in a 3-4 defense so the two outside guys are LB's. I am mostly always on the LE when I rush the passer and Barnes definitely is the hardest to get around the tackles with IMO. Sometimes I will put Barnes in JJ's spot and user control him a lot when JJ is getting burned on some plays because of his slower than average speed. Barnes works really well as a LOLB in the 3-4 because he has the speed in the game to cover TE's and most slot wideouts.
