Madden 2011 Ravens Player Ratings

25 posts in this topic

what does everyone think?

most overrated player goes to mark sanchez. His rating of 82 is 2 points higher than kyle orton, after throwing 12 touchdowns and 20 picks to orton's 21 touchdowns and 12 picks. his accuracy of 83 matches joe flacco's after completing 53.8% of his passes to flacco's 63.1%...seriously?

There are definitely subject to change even with the first update. Especially since Ken Hamlin, Marc Bulger, Walkt Harris, and Travis Fischer are not on the roster.

I think they could have made both of our rookie tight ends and Stallworth higher. Other then that I'm ok with them.

Not bad. I'll agree with Stallworth possibly being a bit low but he was off for a whole year. I hope he can be worthy of an upper 70's after the first update.

Maybe the Jets are rated so high because their "Swagger" rating is through the roof. Kidding aside, what the heck does the "swagger" rating do?

You didn't hear? Fireman Ed is one of the programmers for the game this year.

If you're a Madden player with even average skill, you can play with any team. I'm not that great with the game and I've won games online with the Detroit Lions before, so...

Ratings don't matter. That's just for bragging rights to other fans -- until someone gets beat down after 4 quarters.

Hahaha Willis' stiff arm is a 99 :)
[/quote]

I was just about to post that. I laughed my butt off on that one. NICE! Dunno how Mason can be an 85 overall and heap is 83 when heap hasn't done much in a long time and Mase was our passing game last year.

Dunno how Kruger is a 72. He hasn't done jack! Ellerbe should be higher than that.

Very flawed.

Harewood's not even in here.

You really have to wait for the first update for the real season rosters, and he has to make the team.

I bet Hiram Eugene knows why :)

That was about as good as a Stiff arm any running back did last season.

You know these ratings come out every year and fans get all in a bunch when players are too low or too high, or if this player is not the starter, or not at the correct position. To me the ratings are good and all that, but like Franchise said, you can win with any team regardless the OVR of the players and Team OVR, I have beat the Patriots with the Lions before. Plus let's not forget Donny Moore(the ratings Czar at EA) he gives players ratings and adjusts them through out the season, and we can do the same. I'm sure that once the opening day roster is out to download(judging by the rosters in these charts, he has missed on some player acquisitions, or releases) the rosters will be much more accurate and people like me will be adjusting player Overalls our self since we can still edit the ratings.

I will say though Mark Sanchez is way too high IMO, like someone said Kyle Orton had better TD to INT ratio yet is 2 points lower than someone who is entering his second year. Sanchez did squat, he was carried by defense.

Hopefully Eron Riley and Harewood get added to the final roster, both of those guys are going to be great players for us, Riley will be our Miles Austin, and Harewood will develop for 2 years, sitting behind Gaither(I say 2, because we can Franchise Gaither if we have to) and be ready to take over at RT when Gaither leaves for a team who is willing to pay him Left Tackle Money. Also those two were going to be the 2 players I was going to develop in Franchise to become starters.

Damn, Chris Carr is still a 65. Looks like I'm the only one who thinks he's good :P

Mason is just fine to me. 99 Stamina. 92 toughness (could be higher but ok). 97 route running. 91 catching. Speed is right at 85. He should be pretty good in the game.

Clayton at a 76 is fine though catching could be higher IMO. He has great hands.

Stallworth is hella low but it's on him to show he's better than that.

I understand Reed, Dickson, and Pitta being so low because of the round they were taken in while still being unproven. But hey, our TEs are better than Davon Drew already :P

Nice to see Ellerbe and Gooden progressing slowly but surely.

Kindle being rated above Kruger already is a bit of a surprise to me.

A few points I wanted to make:

Ray Rice was at 90 after the last update of Madden 10. In my opinion, his overall should've been increased by at least one. Dropping his speed from 90 to 89, even by the mere point, just doesn't seem to have any reason behind it. Though he doesn't fit the definition of a burner, he has shown a 2nd gear that has often surprised me, and most importantly, the opposing team. I would also disagree with his Stiffarm rating being at an even 80. A prime example of his powerful arms was his run during Vikings game against E.J. Henderson.

I'm ecstatic that Ellerbe is finally in the 70s, considering his overall was in the low 60s in Madden 10. However, I'm not exactly sure how both Kruger and Barnes are rated above him.

I would've given Terrence Cody a 74 or 75, as opposed to the 72, since several Mock Drafts had him pegged as a 1st round talent.

I'm truly glad to see that Sergio Kindle wasn't given a lower overall because of how far he dropped. At 78, and with his ability to rush the passer, Baltimore has one of the best LB groups in all of Madden. Now I just need to find a way to get them all on the field lol

Considering that Foxworth began the 2009 Season with an 83 overall, I'm not sure how his solid performance during the 2nd half of the year merits a drop off.

Stallworth, as well as Dickson and Pitta, could've been above 60s. It's not a rating I completely disagree with, but Michael Vick was given a 73 after spending a year in jail. Donte at least had the opportunity to practice on a football field on his own free time.

Lastly, I understand that the NFL fan base outside of the Ravens isn't exactly aware of JJ's presence, but I was hoping that his efforts would not go unnoticed, and that his overall would be bumped to an 84 or 85.

I don't mean to berate the rankings or sound like a homer. Just giving an educated opinion from a longtime Madden player.

Kindle's athleticism is through the roof compared to Kruger, and in Madden athletic beasts will always be rated high just because EA doesnt do a consistency rating, which I think would scu everthing better to how Madden could play out.
