The Mobile County Sheriff's office is reporting that Russel was arrested for possesion of a controlled substance,I'm hearing it was codeine syrup

Cough syrup aka Robitussin AC or codeine that is liquid for kids or people that can't swallow pills--my son had it after he broke his arm a few years ago it also had Tylenol in it.

Cough syrup that has codeine (an opiate) in it. Basically, whenever you hear about people drinking large amounts of cough syrup to get "high", they're talking about cough syrup that has codeine in it.

Codeine syrup is only available with a prescription....I took it after my third knee surgery and it knocked me on my kiester for three days straight. It's strong stuff.


I got this mobile alert last night. Felt a bit shocked and kinda sad and then decided I really wasn't all that surprised.

I think it would be wrong for Roger Goodell to throw him outta the league if he decides to because it's only one off the field mishap. The other factor in him possibly being thrown out is the fact that he sucks and no one wants him at this particular moment. But you don't throw someone out because they suck, you throw them out if they engage in bad off the field behavior more than once or twice. So he should stay, unless of course he calls it quits lmao.

It's not kid's stuff. Codeine is in the same narcotics family as heroin.

Sounds to me as though when it rains, it pours, and in this case it is proven true.

I cannot say that he has a problem with this stuff, but this should be looked into more closely.
