2010-2011 BR.com You Pick 'em Sign Ups

Some of you here may remember the You Pick 'Em Competition that went on last season. Well, it seemed to be a hit last year and I've decided to bring it back for a second year. Unfortunately, last year we didn't get going until week 2 of the regular season, then people didn't know about it and we had people wanting to join after scoring started. To avoid all that, I've decided to start this sign up thread early. [b][u]There will be a maximum of 30 spots, so I don't have a huge workload on sundays.[/u][/b]

To those of you who didn't play last year, or do not know what this is, it's simple. Each week you pick who's going to win each game of the week, it's that easy.

Here's how it goes down:
On tuesday, I'll make a thread with the updated overall standings and the current week's games (my current picks will also be in that initial post). You have until the deadline to post your picks and make any changes. Typically, the deadline is 11:00am EST [u]for all games[/u]. Thursday, Saturday, and Friday games will be announced when they appear.

When I'm tallying picks, if I see the post with your picks in it has been edited PAST the deadline, I [u]will[/u] nullify that weeks picks. I keep a log on my computer of EVERYONE'S picks as of 11AM EST, so if you go back and change a pick, I will know. If you forget to pick for a week (or any games in a week), you will get a loss for every game without a pick. Once picks are tallied, I'll post the statistics for the week (the percentage of which team is picked in each game, unanimous picks, toss-up picks, home/away team ratio).

Either on monday night or tuesday afternoon, I'll go through and update the standings and make the next new thread for the new week. It depends on what I'm doing monday night/tuesday as to which day I'll update the standings and make the new thread, so please have some patience. Last year, we had 17 people in the competition with ZIBBY28 eventually winning it all. Depending on how many people are interested, there's a chance I may (keyword: may) use Yahoo's Pick 'Em to run it, just because tallying sunday mornings is VERY time consuming, even with only 17 people. That's a very large if though.

All I ask is that those who join, please be active, make your picks on time, and don't just quit if you're trailing big. Everyone had a great time last year with the competition, even those who were down there in the standings (believe me, I know. I was in the cellar for a few weeks before pulling it together and finishing in the top 10 by the end of the year).

Yeah, I'm definitely trying to avoid all the confusion that came with trying to make everything even and fair for the late entrants. All in all though, I'd say it turned out well and fair to everyone.

Count me in, normally I do the Yahoo Pickem game so I'm use to picking games. I think it would be easier to use Yahoo Pick em because of making it easier on you scoring wise since it does it self but that's just me. I'm all in!

I'm thinking about that. Depending on how many people are interested and such. I just did it a different way than the typical Pick 'Em league, which (in my opinion) gave it a different feel from just another Pick 'Em contest.

Zibby had 167-78, YYZ66 came in second with 159-76. So you can see Zibby had quite the buffer, and it was like that for weeks heh.
