Things going south quickly. They better sign Flozell.

"The news just got even worse for the Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive line.

Not only did offensive tackle Willie Colon(notes) suffer a torn Achilles tendon that will require surgery Wednesday, but rookie offensive tackle Chris Scott(notes) hurt his foot last week during a training session at the University of Tennessee.

Scott will also undergo surgery Wednesday.

While Colon is done for the season, it's unclear if Scott will be able to play this year or not.

“Rookie offensive lineman Chris Scott suffered a foot injury while working out at the University of Tennessee last week," Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert said. "As stated earlier, Willie Colon suffered an Achilles injury while working out on Monday. Both were evaluated by Steelers’ medical personnel today and they are scheduled for surgery on Wednesday. We will have further information regarding both once we know the results of each of their surgeries.”

Scott had recently signed a three-year contract that included a signing bonus just over $140,000."
We knew Scott broke his foot, and now we can pass along that he's not expected to recover for three months, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. That makes Scott a prime candidate to start the year on the PUP list, knocking him out for six weeks.
It seems that this won't be as huge as losing Colon but at least Scott can make it back after 6 weeks to provide depth.

i will have to remind them that we had the same problem when they won the superbowl so i dont care to hear their excuses. they need to draft better like they told me.

Steelers 2010 Season: Year of the Excuses.

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch. We know we play very well with adversity and injuries. The Steelers aren't going to be a cakewalk.

You know the Steelers always like to <mess up> everybody else's fruit punch. I wouldn't be surprised they fight through adversity and make it to the playoffs just so we have to hear how even more great the Steelers are that they can play through all this diversity and injuries.

That would be great so we can beat them three times in a season. Balance restored to the world once again.
