Ugh Varejao.. he did not play too well that is the truth. The point I was really trying to make is that the team as a whole was great the last two seasons and even split or won season series with tough teams (Lakers, Celtics, etc..) so the fact that some say they just can't beat them because they're not good enough is BS; they obviously CAN beat them. They simply did not play well when it came to the playoffs and that falls on everyone.. LeBron included.

Being from Cleveland I can undderstand your pain,we almost went thru it here if Ray would have left we would have been miffed too.I hope you guys do good this year and who knows maybe the Cavs shock the world,I don't see a title but a playoff rub would surprise the hell out of me

great point it does fall on everyone,I guess it's kinda like how we blame the guys who made the last bad play(ie Clayton vs NE,or Houschka vs Min.)I just rememhber alot of missed open shots by Varejo and Williams, and yeah James to.This is a hard thing for some but some are happy.I kinda hope they reunite Shaq in Miami tho prob wont happen but I would love to see it

I think we need to just let BrownsFan be right about whatever he posts. The dude is in mourning at the moment.

I disagree. If he had an ego, he wouldn't have gone to Miami to play with Wade and Bosh. He seemed very humble and really uncomfortable with everything. It's not like he had cheerleaders and stuff doing twirls in the background; he was surrounded by kids. Give him a break. He, Wade and Bosh are all sacrificing around $30 million and an added year of security, not to mention the comforts of home (save for Wade).
Actually Bosh looks like he'll be part of a sign and trade so he would be eligible for 6 years, and surely Wade is eligible for 6 years too? So really it's only LeBron that's giving up a year and he's probably not distraught about it because he's the youngest of the 3.

Beasley going to the T-Wolves nixed any chance of a sign-and-trade with Toronto, who didn't really want him anyway... I will be extremely surprised if Wade was be able to get the 6 yr/$120-130 million deal he would have received had LeBron and Bosh not come to Miami.

The S+T could just be for picks. Toronto didn't want to take any salary back.

Melo apparently was looking to play for with Amare which will have to wait until next year. That would be an interesting team if the Knicks had Amare, Melo, and get some solid players. They could maybe even give Miami some trouble.

It's Official since Dan Snyder can't spend big money with the Redskins, he found another way to do it, with the Miami Heat lol jk.

It just seems to me the Heat are trying to buy a championship and not actually do it the right way and build a championship team. Hey Heat, didn't you or anyone learn from Dan Snyder that despite spending money on a big time free agent, or this case free agents it don't lead to a championship. What did Haynesworth do.... bring nothing but trouble and wasted money and no championship. In fact besides the Yankees who have proven $200 Million can buy a championship, what other sports team has proven spending big money equals championships.

Sorry for the rant, and yes I don't know much about Basketball but it seems to me Miami is trying to buy a championship. I'm a little used to the Raven way, building your team through the draft and making small Free Agency moves, not into the whole snatching up every big time free agent to buy your way to a championship.

I'm not a fan of his team choice.

Interestingly. they *all* got signed to 6 year deals. Both James and Bosh were acquired through sign and trades. With virtually no players, they had to really gut their next few drafts (they gave up a first in the 2015 draft).

So... in your face F[sup]2.[/sup]

ok I don't understand the whole sign and trade thing how does that work? They were free agents right?
Well, I think they were restricted free agents that had he option of opting out their last year. So basically, they were still with the team. They signed them to the deal they wanted, then traded them to Miami. That's my understanding of it. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

That's basically right but I think they were unrestricted.

A sign and trade is basically best for everybody, especially in this circumstance. The team losing the player gets something back in return, whereas they would otherwise just lose out all together, while it allows the heat and Bosh and James to sign 6 year contracts as opposed to 5. In other sign and trades it allows the trading team to virtually guarantee the services of the player in question, but in this case it was totally the players choice anyway so that wasn't a factor.

Theres probably no point playing online anymore either.

There should be an unwritten rule if you use the Heat, the other person can use the West All-Star team.

If it brings them a championship no one in Miami is going to be shouting, "But we did it the wrong way!"

Apparently, Knicks President Donnie Walsh said that if they hire a new GM, Isiah Thomas will be on the list of candidates. Did he not learn his lesson from when Thomas just coached his team?

That is hilarious; Isiah will run that team further into the ground if he does take over.

D'Antoni's doing the best he can to undo what Thomas did to the team, I can only imagine how pissed he'll be if Thomas comes back as the GM of the team.

It does amuse me that now Miami has 3 of the top 5 picks from the 2003 draft. Only missing Melo, since Darko Milicic isn't significant at all.

I think the Wizards have a good shot at landing Melo next summer... imagine Melo returning home, playing alongside John Wall and Co.

Technically, its not home. Now if he where to purchase a Baltimore franchise and play for them, then he would be a hometown hero.

Then we def. need to trade for Grevis Vasquez and try to get Kevin Durant.

 I don't think there's anything a team could offer Oklahoma City that would make them give up Durant right now.
