This piece of crap article is symbolic of Cleveland sports. http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbert_letter_100708.html

That's just pitiful. I mean I understand that they have every right to be upset, but wow. And if Dan Gilbert thinks that Cleveland is extra motivated right now, what about Lebron himself? (who btw, doesn't need any extra motivation to be amazing, especially now that he's got D Wade and Bosh). But you gave him the extra motivation anyway lol..

Trust me, I'm not jumping on the Heat bandwagon, but I'd be glad to see them win a championship with Lebron, so he can shove it up Gilberts a**

But like I said, it's Cleveland sports for ya in a nutshell. Classless, careless morons.

They're upset because of the way he did it ... made a show of it ... really i think its gonna screw up his legacy ... cuz hes going to Wades team and he's gonna be remembered of not being able to do it himself ... all the all time greats never left they're teams ... and now the heat are gonna be broke ... it takes 5 players to play basketball not 3 and i think they have what 1 other person signed now that they traded Beason.... If he wanted to win a championship chicago woulda been the better choice IMO

This is why it is hard to be an NBA fan. Overstocked teams, no competition.

There is only 3 possible teams that can win it all this year:
Heat
Celtics
Lakers

There is no point in playing the season. Just have a round robin tournament with those three teams.

Both Bosh and Wade are on Sportcenter next to speak about LeBron's decision.

I am soo pissed off with the Bulls, ugh. Ugh how could they let leBron walk!? Boozer is good, but LeBron would have been great.I think im going to stop liking them. I need to pick a new team.
The Bulls are gonna be legit contenders .... i still dont see anyone beating a healthy L.A. Lakers ... Kobe is in the peak of his prime Phil wins in 3s and they havent lost anyone they got the most depth of any team

Okay, so if he announces that he's coming back to Cleveland instead of going elsewhere, then this entire build up isn't "narcisstic" or "self-pormotional?" But the fact that he left Cleveland means that it was? And I don't think it's gonna screw up his legacy, I mean he just joined a team with a better chance at winning a championship. They'll probably win one, and it's okay if he isn't the one man show anymore. It's okay if he doesn't do it by himself. How could one person win a championship all by himself, which is what he was attempting to do in Cleveland because he didn't have a good supporting cast? Lebron is his own legacy, just like Michael Jordan was his own and Magic Johnson was his own.

I just think Miami is a better fit for Lebron because it gives him a better chance to prove his haters, like Gilbert and now Cavs fans apparently, wrong. He can put up tremendous numbers while winning a championship. We'll see if the Heat actually win one, but it's much more likely now.

Cleveland can say he was being disrespectful in his actions through this whole free agency period and build up, but the fact is they're just mad that they lost him and didn't do well enough to keep him happy there.

Um Im pretty sure MJ wouldnt of won without Rodman and Scottie Pippen? Kobe wouldn't won without Shaq? Kobe wouldnt of won without Fisher and Gasol? Kevin Garnett wouldn't of won in 08 without Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

So saying LeBron not being able to win it by hismelf is not really a fair arguement.

It sad how the cavaliers are burning all this gear they have a right to be mad, but come on be mature about it.

They remained with the teams that drafted them thoo which where the teams they established ... lebron is going to Dwyane wades team ... Jordan was The Guy in Chi even with Pippen who was a great player but without being jordans teammate wouldnt be the star he became ... that goes for any of the other players and teams even the lakers or celtics yes they brought in key superstars from other teams but Kobe the star of L.A. paul pierce is the guy in Bos etc. Just like when lebron was in Cleve alotta people benefited off lebron (Mo williams Delonte west) Who were pretty much unknown... And the fact that he is supposedly the best player in the NBA he put off a real conceited vibe having all the attention when he hasnt done anything to really deserve it ... and to be honest bosh is overrated ... Wade is a great player but isnt as elite as they make him out to be ... they still need a full roster ... and theres a diffrence between playing a few games in the olympics and a 82 game season

As much as I hate to say it, it isn't going to hurt LeBron's reputation by going to another team. Quite the opposite, actually, James needs championship to cement his place as one of the greatest of all time. It's very apparent that he was not going to get multiple rings (or even one, for that matter) in Cleveland. Frankly, it was the best move for himself to change teams.

Lol my favorite cleveland post yet...

"As a lifelong Cleveland sports fan, it is hard not to be upset right now. However, who didn't see this coming? He wears a Yankee hat at an Indians game and mingles with the Cowboys at a Browns game. His loyalty was never with Cleveland, it was with Akron.
That being said, I believe this will tarnish his legacy severely. He will now be known as the guy who needed Wade and Bosh to win a championship, not win one on his own.
Here's to another 15 years of irrelevant Cleveland sports!" -gobrowns407

Moses Malone and Wilt Chamberlain were both traded after MVP seasons... and last I checked MJ had 4 other guys on the floor with him (one of which is a Top 50 All-Time player in Pippen); Bird had Parrish, McHale and Dennis Johnson; Magic had Kareem and Worthy; No one does it by themselves, and to say that is just ignorant of the facts.

ahh yes I love how its always Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman, people forget the heroics of players like Steve kerr,Tony Kukoc, and BJ Armstron
Don't forget their first threepeat didn't have that dude named Rodman.Im just saying everytime someone mentions Jordans supporting cast they name Pippen and Rodman. It urks me a little I don't know why lol

It pretty much boils down to how he did it. I personally understand why he left and yeah it sucks but I get it.. it's a business and he wants to win titles and there's nothing wrong with that. Where I lose respect for LeBron is how this whole process has played out and how he went about it.

ESPN just did a breaking news thing, G Mike Miller to the Heat for 5 years! So they get rid of Beasley and get a sign a better player for his replacement. Not bad Miami Heat

he says he did it that way to raise money for the boys and girls club, said their was so much media behind it that he figured to make a show to raise money. Not sure how true that is in his mind but he seems to care about the kids.

I don't doubt that he cares for and about the kids but I don't see this as the true 100% reason that he did it this way; I believe part of it is his ego getting the better of him as well.

Plus there's also reports that the special earned 6 million but that the charities only got about 2.5 million.. so where did the other 3.5 million go? Last I read all of the proceeds were going to charities.

(Just FYI I don't know if that is TRUE or not but if there is truth to it it's a bit fishy..)

I disagree. If he had an ego, he wouldn't have gone to Miami to play with Wade and Bosh. He seemed very humble and really uncomfortable with everything. It's not like he had cheerleaders and stuff doing twirls in the background; he was surrounded by kids. Give him a break. He, Wade and Bosh are all sacrificing around $30 million and an added year of security, not to mention the comforts of home (save for Wade).

It's safe to say the sports world and it's fans are mixed on this LeBron situation.I for one am a fan of his and as in other sports my loyalty goes with him.He gave seven years of his career to Cleveland(it doesn't seem that long),and what does he have to show for it besides a couple of MVP awards. They failed to give him a constant supporting cast,no disrespect to the other players, but when the time came to step up most failed to deliver.Having one or two good games won't cut it.
My Heat Jersey will be ordered later this weekend not that Im jumping on their ship but because LeBron is there. They will be the team of the East to beat, and I think it will be a three way dance between them,Orlando and Boston. Will this be enough to stop Boston big team?Who knows? It will be an exciting 2010-2011 season.

LeBron has always had an ego; even in the 7 years he was a Cavalier he had one. We embraced it because we were fans of his in Cleveland obviously but that has never changed. I'll admit it wasn't as big of an ego as some other players have had but none the less he had one. I mean come on.. "Chosen One" and "King James?" There HAS to be some ego there.

Again.. I don't begrudge him for leaving that's completely his choice and if he would have just simply left and went on about his business then honestly I would have wanted him to win because I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to win a title.. but the manner in how he chose to do so and not even telling the GM at all about your choice is just not the right way to go about it.

So.. the past two postseasons when he had bad games and never once decided to take it upon himself being the league MVP that HE played bad.. that was the supporting cast's fault? You can say his supporting cast failed to deliver but LeBron certainly did not help his cause either.. ESPECIALLY this postseason against Boston. Watch the games and tell me he gave 100% effort or looked like he really cared about playing.. it sure didn't seem that way.

Again.. his choice to leave just a poor way to go about it all. It's his life and choice and my life will certainly go on as well but I lost respect for him throughout all of this.

you are right he did have some bad games also won't argue that but he had a hell of alot more good.I guess I'm still stiffling over Varejo and his inability to make the open shots in that Boston series.I hate that guy.I am not trying to make James out to be a saint, but when he does have bad games there was alot of times he didn't have backing to support that, unlike when Kobe would be off he had a nice backing class,I am still stinging because I wanted the Cavs to win all of it this year.
