LeBron James will announce the team with which he will sign during a one-hour special on ESPN Thursday night, ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard has learned through independent sources.

ESPN would only confirm that active discussions for the special are ongoing. But sources tell Broussard that representatives for James contacted the network, proposing that James makes his announcement during a 9 p.m. ET special.

Those sources said that James' representatives requested they be allowed to sell sponsorship for the one-hour special, with the proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and that ESPN agreed to the proposal but had not been told what James has decided.
I bet they will have a hat for each possible team, for him to put on once he makes the decision. Or maybe headbands instead of hats.

Anway this is pretty much confirmation that he is staying a Cavalier. He wouldn't go public on LIVE TV to brake Cavalier fans hearts unless he is a real selfish A**hole. Which he isn't. I will be shocked if he announced on live TV that he isnt staying a Cavalier.

Well LBJ is going k to Cleveland, but I doubt he is going alone, someone is going there along with him. I see it like this. Howeve rin the case that he doesn't stay with the Cavs, I view it like this. They start to suck and get lottery picks and start to rebuild a new, young team. they will get a #1 pick, draft a good player, which would spark interest and hope into the team again.

Yeah, that would be pretty cruel... I suspect he'll be in Cleveland with the announcement of the Bosh sign and trade coming soon after.

A fan over at the New York Post made an interesting comment:
i've been back and forth with this lebron james saga and I truly believe the guy is leaving cleveland. I'm not saying its the Knicks, but I have this gut feeling he is leaving. Otherwise, why in the world, would it make sense for him to announce a 1 hr special on ESPN with Proceeds from sponsors going to his Charity "boys and girls club of america" in his cleveland home town. I would call that a GUILTY CONSCIOUS, and he wants to plead with not to hate him, and that his decision was only based on his career. Where he is going, who the hell knows.
Well, looks like we are going to find out where LBJ is going Thursday. He's having a one hour special on ESPN leading up to his decision.

This is exactly why I cannot stand him or the hoopla he gets anytime he has to make a big decision. He should just sign with the Nets and throw a curve ball at everyone.

Dwayne Wade and Bosh are signing with the Heat and the hoopla is that Lebron may not be far behind.
Losing some fanhood for LeBron,I mean really a ESPN special just to say where he is going? Cmon man

if that happens let the Bandwagon start lol
I follow my favorite players where they go,so I guess I have no loyalty to a certain team(tho I have a soft spot for the Pacers,Reggie was my fav when I started watching along with Shaq)
Last year was perfect both Shaq and James now Shaq is in limbo and no one knows where LeBron will go

If LeBron wants to win, he won't go back home to Cleveland... I think the Heat, Bulls and Knicks are the front-runners, with the Nets and Cavs as dark horses.

Even with just Bosh and Wade, Miami should be a great team. If LeBron joins, that'd be the team to beat in the East, in my opinion. Although it'd suck for me, despite Miami beating Dallas in the Finals, I've always had a soft spot for D-Wade and the Heat.

If he does sign with the Heat, I must ask, Would a LeBron, Wade, & Bosh trio affect the Lakers chances of three-peating?

I'm going to make a bold prediction.

If LeBron goes to Miami, it's done. They will beat LA in the finals (I'm a Lakers fan)

If he goes anywhere else, Lakers 3 peat.

Cavaliers are trying to sign carlos Boozer, but they are open to doing a sign&trade for Boozer as well. Question is that enough to lure LeBron to stay in Cleveland?

As a Bulls fan, I am very dissapointed, we barely have done anything in FA. I hope we go for David Lee.

Meh, Boozer. I've never been high on him, he's very inconsistent in my opinion. And if he's unhappy on your team, way to throw away that cash. Boozer isn't the answer to keeping LeBron. Jamison and Boozer, with no backcourt help won't be enough.

They are all popping up now.
Jon Rothstein received a text from a member of the Bulls' front office who believes that LeBron James will sign with the Knicks.

Chicago is turning its attention to Carlos Boozer.

I really can't understand him going to NY for anything other than the glitz. NY has a horrible backcourt, so why leave a team that he had no backcourt help for a team with even less help from the backcourt?

Does anyone have Verizon FIOS? ESPN says it is 1 hour special at 9 PM tomarow. But I look through my guide and tomarow at 9 pm is a world cup show, which starts at 8:30 pm. So is ESPN made a mistake or something?

Should I just DVR the world cup show, because I may not be home to see his decision.

I totally agree with you. I mean they are going after Boozer, yet all the money that they have, I would be going after someone younger like David Lee.

Galinari, LeBron and Stoudemire will be a formidable frontcourt... who's their backcourt though???

Bulls have signed F Carlos Boozer to a 5 year, 80M deal.

I just saw it on ESPN. and I must say I am very shocked. I think they should have gone younger and gone after David Lee.

Now this signing must make you wonder. Despite all the tweets and rumors about NY Knicks and LeBron. I must ask, Is the addition of Boozer enough to convince LBJ to Chicago? Or has LBJ decided to go to Bulls andthis is part of the plan. Rose, Noah, Boozer, Deng, LeBron? Is that not a good team to reach NBA finals.
