Heat are sooo stacked. I didn't realise that, while they're not exactly deep, they have servicable complementary starters and backups. It's not just the big 3.

Heat have brought in Eddie House on a 2 yr deal worth 2.8 million
[/quote]

Loved watching House during the Boston's championship run two years ago. Another solid signing.

Seems Josh Howard is returning to the Wizards, agreeing to a one year, $3 million deal (incentives can bump it up to $4 mil). Apparently, he turned down the Heat, Bulls, Celtics, Clippers, Kings, Spurs, and Cavs to stay with Washington.

lol Oh man. I don't understand this, really. Boston has a logjam at the center (and to a lesser extent, power forward) position now. Kendrick Perkins, Jermaine O'Neal, Rasheed Wallace, and now Shaq. At least Wallace and O'Neal can play PF, but they've got KG and Davis there.

Well, it isn't the GM position, but the Knicks hired Isiah Thomas to be their "Prospect Consultant". New York just doesn't learn.

Terrible organization. I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to screw things up even if they get Carmelo next year.

I'd feel sorry for Mello if he went to New York

I wouldn't. He'd likely get a ton of money and the fans would probably adore him for keeping them close to .500.

I would too with the chance to play with John Wall. Kid is a beast... although turning down the Heat is surprising.

Mason to New York is actually a good move for them.

I'm a T-Mac fan but seeing him go to the Pistons is depressing(like Le Batard said on PTI).

You are aware you're quoting a post that was made not only prior to Wallace retiring, but when he was with the team, correct? You're correcting a post that was already correct at the time it was made (August 4th, Wallace retired on the 10th).

Yeah but Rasheed and even Doc RIvers confirmed he would be retiring anyway and this was back in early july.

Rasheed never said he was definitely retiring, he had said it was very likely he would retire. If Shaq had never signed with the Celtics, I think 'Sheed would have stuck around for another year. But with another C in the the very crowded PF/C picture in Boston, Wallace probably found now to be the best time to call it a career.
