Ravens Defensive Playbook - Madden 10

9 posts in this topic

I needed some football. Holding off till August won't do me in.

Just a question, on the Ravens defensive playbook, which is the best play or plays to get some pressure from the outside?

I have a hard time getting to the quarterback in this game.

Weak Blitz 3, Clamp Double Go, Cross Fire 3, Cross Fire Chuck, OLB Fire Man are some of the blitz plays I used to get pressure. LB Storm (I believe it's called) is also a good blitz play to call if you want to use your MLB.

Thanks. I will check into these. I just lost to the Cardinals in the Superbowl because I couldn't get any pressure on Warner what so ever. He passed for near 400 yards.

4 years into the league and he's still playing.

Maybe the reason you we're getting torn up is because you possibly might of been blitzing too much. I've noticed that it's a lot easier to stop the pass if you run different kinds of zone and man.

Yeah, I'd definitely utilize some man to man and zone as well. Double Man isn't bad to run against two wide - two back formations, and (forgive me if I'm wrong, Xbox isn't on atm, so I can't double check the name) Gap Press is another good one. Both have the second ILB blitz, so you have the chance for a little pressure.

I like Cover 3 press and 2 Man Under, Move TP out past the RT tackle and bull rush from the Horn.

I love taking the Gap Press play and then I usually take one of the guys that rushes from the outside and I'll use him in coverage. I always like changing blitzes up just a little bit to help out a bit with coverage.

I actually don't blitz that much. At least not no where near what the computer does to me. They always seem to have at least 3 or 4 people in Flacco's face after I snap the ball.

Like you I do use a lot of zone & man to man coverage.

I think the problem is, is I don't blitz enough. My secondary is ... lackluster to say the least. Reed is banged up on the sidelines, I still have Rolle who is up there in age, I have a 2nd year cornerback that I drafted and that was a mistake. He seems to let every receiver just run right by.

A few seasons ago, I was easily able to get pressure on the QB without having to blitz using my defensive line alone. So it took off a lot of pressure on the secondary. Pryce had 27 sacks that season and they were the leading team in sacks through out the NFL. My pass defense was ranked 7th too. Now that they're older and my secondary is ... depleted ... I am ranked 28th in pass defense. I just gave up a 14 point lead to the Browns in the final 4 minutes. I couldn't get any pressure on Quinn what so ever, making his job that much easier. I still won though, thanks to a last second heave to Boldin setting up for an easy field goal. Then again, I always struggle with the Browns in every single version of Madden out there.

Anything will help right now. I just think it's time for me to start trying out new plays and seeing if there's anything I can do to make my secondaries job that much easier.

I am happy to say that I have no problems stopping the running game! I love Ngata in this game. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

I'm in year 2018 and have a few beast thru the draft that helps me manhandle tackles. BTW, I almost never blitz from the left side in a franchise... Mainly becuase a ton of LT's are almost unbeatable.
