I posted this twice, once in the news and once on this forum, because there are people that only post in the news and only post on this forum. I was attempting to get a confirmation or denial from a reputable source. I'm not the one starting these rumors. I'm not naive enough to think every thing I read here is the truth, I don't lie and I don't have underlying issues just to get attention, as you say. Things like this are discussed here all the time but, when I bring it up, I get flamed for it! I'm 53 years old so please don't treat me like some kid. Not to worry though, I deleted my posts.

Sorry you took it wrong. I wasn't flaming [b]you[/b], just the person who started the rumor. After some trouble earlier this year, we're very sensitive about rumors now.

Hardly... I was saying Smith isn't light years ahead of Beck, but he is better. That's where the "far and away" came into play. He has more talent and is a better quarterback in my opinion.. But just because he is better doesn't mean I am saying he is Payton Manning.. so no.. I didn't contradict myself.

Guess what.. Jomarcus Russell had plenty of upside and talent when he was drafted and is he a good quarterback? Not even close. So just because I say he has more upside and talent than Beck does not mean I am saying he is WAY AND BEYOND a better quarterback than Beck. Is Smith better? Yes.. In my opinion he is. But not FAR AND BEYOND better. So at what point did I say Smith was some super star quarterback and then contradict myself and say that him and Beck are close. Oh wait.. I didnt. He is a BETTER quarterback by that's not neccessarily saying much.. And he isn't THAT much better.

HE HAS A LOT MORE UPSIDE!!! That doesn't mean that he is a way better quarterback. Upside doesn't necessarily mean anything. I dont get your logic here.. Can you not comprehend that UPSIDE and BETTER are two different things? If this was all about upside and talent Jomarcus Russell would be the best quarterback in the league.. wouldn't you agree? A guy that can throw it as far as any standing up quarterback while he is on his knees? 6-6 260.. who actually does a good job running the ball.. I dont know why you guys are bashing him so badly about this post...Bulger is making more money this year than Flacco so the chances that they would sign him to that deal and get rid of him before the season starts is pretty slim

Flacco is obviously starting...so basically we would have 4 QB's...I dont see what the harm is in bring up the fact that Troy wants to start somewhere the Bills are holding an open QB competition in which all the QBs are getting even reps...so trying to get a CB off the Bills would be unheard of

I will admit that alot of people overrate Troy but they it cant hurt us to have him overrated when shopping him on the market...Honestly though I wouldnt know who the Ravens would go for...I dont follow the Bills in anyway, shape, or form and when I heard the rumor and looked on the NFL.com website to look at stats of the CB's on their roster it seemed to be alot of mixing and swapping of corners and not alot of people as guaranteed starters, but maybe I'm wrong

See the problem with your argument is that Beck and Troy are completely different play styles of QB and If god forbid one of them had to start you would have to build the offense completely different for each respective QB
And even though Beck gets in a panic when the pressure comes, Troy also when he is under pressure and starts scrambling drifts away from looking for an open receiver down field..Honestly I hope neither of them have to start seeing as, both Flacco and Bulger would have to go down first

I would trade Troy. John Beck led our second team offense, burtalizing the Falcons ENTIRE first team last pre-season. Lets not forget, most people were saying Atlanta was going to go deep in the playoffs last year too. Beck looked like a beast. I would keep him!
