I know what you mean about old NWA stuff - I really enjoyed those Saturday night shows on the Superstation, and every weekend i just knew it was there.  I miss those days.

Even remember when McMahon bought Georgia Championship Wrestling and "Black Saturday" when the familiar World Championship Wreslting theme comes on then Freddie Miller and Vince come on and say its new home of the WWF at the time.  Didn't last long, angry viewers and Mid South and Championship Wresting from Georgia got better ratings, and Vince sold the slot to Jim Crockett and used the money to finance WrestleMania.

Those were the days!

It's strange to hear you guys say that. Then Nightman saying he hated the attitude era, the attitude era is my "Those were the days" era of wrestling. Growing up watching Hunter Hearst Helmsley evolve through DX and eventually into The Game. Rocky Maivia turning into The Rock. Austin going from WCW to ECW to being the man in the WWE.

Today, it's like I can still get into it and I have my favorites but I'm def more of a wrestling guy. Meaning my favorites are the ones who can actually, you know wrestle. I hate this "sports entertainment" name they call it. Say it like it is, it's Professional Wrestling.  WWE's biggest PPV, has the word Wrestle in it.

The reality has sank in for me, the realization that at this time next week I would be in my hotel room after watching the HOF ceremony in person and that a week from tomorrow, I'll be going to Wrestlemania.

There are a couple of people I respect in the business, Jim Cornette who marches to the beat of his own drummer, started and worked for a couple of organizations and tells like it is.  Diamond Dallas Page, who saved the lives of Scott Hall and Jake the Snake Roberts, without him they would be dead.

The only good thing I can think that the WWE has done is induct people who were in other organizations in their Hall of Fame, like Gordon Solie who was mostly an NWA man.  Andy Kaufmann should be in the celebrity wing for his feud in Memphis with Jerry the King Lawler which started the "Sports Entertainment" version of wrestling, a few years before Vince made it really happen.  Back in 85 on the then WWF show they said in an opening sequence "The following is a production of the World Wrestling Federation, the leader in sports entertainment:

Ring of Honor said they would move into DC, if their owner Sinclair Broadcasting, buys WJLA.  If they do, they should have cards at the Showplace Arena, rather than the DC Armory.  Went their for the Capital Combat pay per view in May once, it was 75 degrees outside and maybe 110 inside with no a/c.

I just heard RVD is coming back, maybe at 'Mania?! I'd buy it just to see him.

Rumored to be the night of Wrestlemania or the night after.

That Triple H promo was awesome!  Batista looks and performs like a shell of himself.  Not impressed with the animal like I use to be.

WWE flew him to New Orleans and he's doing interviews and showing up at various events, but who knows if he's just there for events or to be in the Andre match.

Agreed, most of what he said was extremely accurate. Like how people just want to be a part of something without doing anything. Also can't help but notice they showed Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle (two top TNA guys) in the video where HHH was beating everyone. WWE never shows videos of old wrestlers who aren't on good terms with them. It was interesting. Edited by sliceanddic3

Kurt's contract is up in August and he has been telling people he will return to WWE in September.

Now that's a way to get people excited for Wrestlemania!

The YES Movement began at Summer Slam and will culminate on Sunday when Bryan becomes the champion and 70,000+ are chanting YES as Mania goes off the air.

Triple H is my boy BUT when Daniel Bryan jumped and then beat the hell out of him while he was trying his best to get out there....that was hilarious!  Awesome ending to tonight's show!

Honestly, I'm excited for 'Mania. Although, I wish The Shield were in a more meaningful match, I couldn't really care less about their storyline right now.

They had WrestleMania logo and a picture of M&T Bank Stadium a couple of weeks ago, perhaps that might be the venue next year?

Where at? WM 31 is being held at the new 49ers stadium and that has been confirmed.

I'm in New Orleans and just got back to my hotel. Bought some stuff at the Wrestlemania Superstore but am ready for another day in the Big Easy tomorrow.

So many people, my goodness it is crazy how much Mania can really do for a city's economy.

I have a question about watching online, if anyone can help.

The missus and I are keen to watch WM30 (well, she's trying to get me into it :P ) but we think it would be easier to buy it directly and watch online than it would be to book a viewing with Sky TV (long story). I want to set up an account, but NZ isn't coming up as an option. Does that mean the WWE won't let you watch it here without subscribing to our pay TV system, or was it just an oversight? Australia isn't listed either, fwiw, nor is the UK.

I'm assuming it'll be fine, but does anyone have any experience with watching it directly?

I was watching old ECW matches last night, Joey Styles is up there with JR as best wrestling commentator ever. "Oh my God!" Classic!

The last WWE card I saw was one that had Bruno Sammartino tag teaming with Hulk Hogan against King Kong Bundy and the One Man Gang as the main event at the Baltimore arena.  I'm thinking about going to see Maryland Championship Wrestling in Waldorf, they have a meet and greet with some of the wrestlers a couple of hours before bell time which makes it more fan friendly.

I didn't mind Taker losing. Everyones always on WWE's jock saying they never legitimately surprise us as fans anymore, then they do this and everyone's still not happy. Was it the best match to make him lose his streak? No. But I applaud WWE for having the balls to do this.

Plus, LITERALLY, during the match, so many people (twitter, forums) were complaining that the streak has been stale, hence why the match wasn't as great. Then, he loses, everyone writes off WWE forever.

That was a good wrestlemania! Started off great with 3 icons in ring together, had shocker of the night, and had storybook ending most wanted for.

Let me give you a live report. During the Taker/Lesnar match I went to the bathroom and decided to walk around a bit after being cramped from sitting. I figured the match would last a while but all of a sudden, there is this silence that came over the stadium.

I peeked through the curtain and all I see is 21-1 on the big screen. I was a loss of words like everyone else. I couldn't come up with anything to describe the moment.

When Batista tapped out that place went nuts. I went nuts chanting yes.

Overall I will say for it being my first Mania, I enjoyed it. Plus I get to say I was there when the Streak was broken.

A horrible way to end the streak. The buildup wasn't even good, the match was incredibly mediocre and it was ended by Brock who is a part time wrestler. Should have ended with HBK or with HHH in one of their matches.

I said last night that was The Undertakers retirement speech. When I saw the 3 count it took a minute to register what the heck did I just see. It took BIG GUTS for the WWE to pull that off. Nobody expected that. Kudos to them. Definitely watching Raw tonight.

I'm definitely a casual WWE fan, but I was not impressed by the ending of "The Streak." Though, I agree that it needed to end last night, I just wish it was executed better.

I think that WWE redeemed itself with the Daniel Bryan "miracle" victory over Orton and Batista, and I think that the Superdome's reaction to him all night is proof of that.

Anyone else think that Cena should've lost to Bray Wyatt last night? Think it hurts Bray moving forward?

I think they did a great job with building the future with Cesaro winning the battle royal, Shield winning and Bryan winning the title. Honestly I think we'll see Bryan vs Cesaro for the Title at some point in 2014.

Hopefully they don't screw over Bryan and they let him have a long run with the title. Brock has the streak so he doesn't need the title.

Bray losing didn't surprise me. WM tends to be very face heavy. I figured AJ winning would be the only heel win but def Taker losing was the biggest surprise moment of the night.

Yeah, I've seen Cesaro a few times now and he's definitely become a fan favorite... but nothing on Bryan's level.

I didn't buy WM this year but I was not surprised by what I heard or saw on RAW last night.  I had a feeling that Lesnar would end Takers streak.  It was just a hunch based upon how old, slow and feeble Taker has looked at times in the ring.  I knew Bryan would become the WWE Champion.  Good for him!  Although, I am not a "yes" movement person...the "yes" chants were incredible last night!  Figured the Shield would slowing be turning away from being heels (so it seems).  Definitely wasn't surprised by Super-Cena's victory either.

The Ultimate Warrior has passed away aged 54.

I'm absolutely speechless. He looked so happy and healthy at the HOF and on Sunday at Mania.

Just a day ago he was on Raw, he was at Mania and he gave his HOF speech on Saturday. This can't be happening....
