Isn't or wasn't the Shield a part of NXT? If so, wouldn't that leave questions about AJ's affiliation with them?

Yes and no. The Shield as a group never was in NXT but all three members were in NXT individually. Langston apparently is liked by management and let's remember, HHH is in charge of developmental and the calls up are all his decisions.

So with the world ending, obviously it will end with CM Punk being the Best in the whole world, but the question begs. When the world ends does that make CM Punk The Best In The Afterlife? Does that mean I'm going to have to buy new Punk shirts that say "Best In The Afterlife" on them?

Dean Ambrose was never in any incarnation of NXT.

Actually yes he was. NXT became the new name for WWE's Developmental Program and all of The Shield were in NXT. Not the show NXT, NXT the developmental program.

You're both right and wrong.

Though Ambrose was signed to the NXT brand when FCW was rebranded as NXT, I don't believe he ever competed in a televised NXT match because he was touring with the main WWE roster; only Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns made televised NXT appearances.

For all intents and purposes, though, it's not inaccurate to say Ambrose is one of the NXT invaders because NXT is now the former FCW.

He was never televised on either NXT TV show, and I don't believe he ever competed for NXT's brand (I could be wrong on this, but it's irrelevant as live shows are not distributed). I'm pretty sure WWE viewed Ambrose as more of a special project they didn't want to expose, so they kept him to WWE dark matches following FCW's transformation into NXT. He's definitely been portrayed as the "general" of the group, in promos and in the TLC match and attack segment on last week's Raw.

The beginning of tonight's Raw proves that Vince needs new creative writers. Having Del Rio who they are trying to turn into a face run over Santa makes no sense, especially for a face turn. If they were actually creative, they would have had CM Punk come out, cut a promo and deliver a GTS to Santa. I mean I understand the show was taped and they didn't put more into the show like they usually do but... COME ON MAN!

Lol, the only part of the show I enjoyed was Punks segment.

The Pittsburgh crowd chanting "Let's go Steelers!", followed by Punk -- "Really? I'm from Chicago, and I'm not even dumb enough to cheer for the Cubs."

I also enjoyed the "Mama" preview, but that wasn't wrestling.

Otherwise I do agree. They need to get some new writers or something.

Curious to how next weeks match between Punk and Ryback is going to end with the Rock showing up. With the Rock having his title shot this month against Punk, it seems impossible for Ryback to win. I do believe though after that small segment between Punk and Brad that he'll get involved some how.

Wondering if perhaps the Shield will get involved, as well as the Rock -- completely throwing it off.

Looking forward to next week, and actually did enjoy the end of last nights segment with Cena, AJ, and Dolph.

I think the Shield gets involved and they will say they are not helping Punk but serving justice because it's an injustice Punk has to fight Ryback when he is injured. I believe Ryback wins the Rumble and faces Big Show for the World Title at WM 29 and becomes World Heavyweight Champion while Punk, Cena and Rock will end up in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title with Brock facing Undertaker at WM 29.

The Shield will then face Team Hell No for the Tag Titles at WM 29.

I am still just lost at the whole Brock situation. I do see you and Franchise bringing him up for Wrestle Mania on here, but don't quite understand. He seemed to be done with wrestling when he had walked away last time. I see the WWE does bring him up on a basis, but just can't see him returning for 1 more match. Unless it has something to do with Heyman?

I would love to see the RyBack - Big Show match, as I quite frankly am getting a little old with the Show. His gig the last few years seems a bit over-drawn.

Truly a magnum opus promo by CM Punk last night. Best promo in the WWE since his MITB worked shoot. This build is already better than the entirety of the Cena/Rock build.

100% percent agreed. That ONE Rock-Punk promo was better than any of the several promos that Cena-Rock did leading up to WM 28.

I love how they pushed each other to ramp up the intensity. Rock started off extremely weak but he finished strongly after Punk made him step his game up.

I hated how scripted Punk's promo felt at first, but once Rock came out and egged him on, Punk got better and better.

Heck, these two could do nothing else for the next two weeks and they've already sold me on the match. They could easily put on a Match of the Year candidate; Rock has always made up for his limited moveset with great psychology, and Punk knows how to bring the best out of each opponent.

In Vintage Vince McMahon Voice... "It's Time for the Rumble, It's time for the Royal Rumble!"

We have the Royal Rumble tomorrow and I am looking forward to it as this begins the Road to Wrestlemania. Enough talk about CM Punk vs Rock, let's move on to what's more important. The Royal Rumble match itself. I must say, I am unsure who will win it this year as there is so many possibilities for Wrestlemania matches. What role will Brock Lesnar and Undertaker along with HHH and Rock play in this year's WM.

John Cena vs Rock 2

Punk vs Undertaker

Punk vs Ryback(possible winner of the Rumble, and my pick to win it)

Lesnar vs Taker,

Lesnar vs HHH 2,

Lesnar vs Cena,

Lesnar vs Rock,

CM Punk vs Cena vs Rock in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title.

Moving to the World Title, Del Rio is Champion but when does Mr. MITB Dolph Ziggler cash in, is it tomorrow or does he win the Royal Rumble from either # 1 or # 2. Will Big Show regain the title? What about Orton or Sheamus? Maybe Barrett?

My pick to win the Rumble is Ryback and I believe he faces CM Punk and ends CM Punk's long title reign at WM 29 to become WWE Champion. While Ziggler cashes in his MITB contract at WM 29 making it a Triple Threat, Del Rio, vs Big Show vs Ziggler for the WHC and at WM 29, Ryback and Ziggler cement themselves as the next big stars(similar to WM 21 with Cena and Batista).

I'm only holding onto a tiny shred of hope that Punk chooses WrestleMania as the night of his contractual rematch, and that the main event is at least a triple-threat with Rock and Cena, if not a fatal 4-way involving Lesnar as well.

I can't take Rock-Cena II. Not only was last year's build atrocious, but the match wasn't really worth the year-long hype. To bill it "Once in a Lifetime" and then go back on that word only a year later? Betrays the casual viewer's faith in WWE's marketing hyperbole.

Big News: Brock Lesnar has signed a new 2 Year Deal with the WWE through Wrestlemania 31. Also Chris Jericho, who returned in the Royal Rumble Match has signed a short term deal with the WWE as a full-time superstar through Wrestlemania 29.

I'm with you guys. I can't take another Cena and Rock match. Not to mention we already know who's going to win if it happens. I seriously hope Punk joins for a Triple Threat Match. It's likely going to happen though due to the numbers Wrestlemania put up last year.

Punk gets escorted out the arena. Here comes Brock Lesnar who attacks Vince and HHH comes back to go after Lesnar.

HHH vs Brock at Wrestlemania.

You may be right again. Cena in his promo, and congrats WWE on not having Cena bury the Shield in one night by the way. In his promo, mentioned BOTH Rock and Punk meaning that it could be Rock vs Cena vs Punk for the WWE Championship at WM 29. Now throw in HHH-Brock 2, that doesn't leave Undertaker much for an opponent with the only people that would legit have a shot at ending the streak in the fans eyes are all in matches.

I was trying to think about who Taker could face. Any chance of a Ryback and Taker match? What about Jericho (Never faced him at WM)?

While Brock Lesnar will be in Atlanta next week for Raw, our new WWE Champion will not be at Raw as this is one of the few Raws Rock is not scheduled for in the Road To Wrestlemania. So instead of next Monday Night being Day 442 of CM Punk's title reign, we get no champion on Raw.

Way to go Vince, book Rock to be champion and still have him show up whenever. Guess that will play into this year's attempt of Cena bashing The Rock. "You come back and win the title and you don't show up to every Raw? When I was Champion, I showed up every single week and never missed a show."

I'm still in awe over Hulk Hogan's physical longevity! Goodness knows what he must go through to maintain a wrestler's physique at his age!

Was something else supposed to happen at the end of Raw? Cause that ending was awful.

More and more, I can not wait for Triple H to take over. The fact that it took Triple H to get legendary Bruno Sammartino to accept a Hall of Fame Induction after years of turning them down, says everything is going to be ok when Trips takes over. I get it, Bruno hated how WWE changed in the 90's and he held that against Vince for so long but this is way long overdue. Bruno should have been in the first Hall of Fame Class.

Only if Triple H could have helped get Randy Savage inducted before he passed away, if only. When they said this was a major announcement and was long over due, I thought for sure they were going to induct Randy Savage but I'm ok with Bruno. Bruno now helps legitimize the WWE Hall of Fame.

Well let's hope the Super Dome fixes their light issues before WM 30 because it is official. WWE is bringing the 30th anniversary of Wrestlemania to New Orleans.

Then again on the bright side, with the length of time the lights went out(34 minutes) it will be long enough for the Undertaker to do his entrance!
