Just wanted to know everybody's opinions, because although for the most part we all agree he will do better (because of obvious help at receiver) I was wondering where exactly he would be placed compared to some of the elite and good QB's.

He's got some tough guys to overtake, but I think if he progresses again, he can be a top 5-7 QB in the league. Now ofcourse this depends how much we will rely upon the run in our gameplans.

He'll probably end up being an 8-10 guy just cause there are so many QBs in pass oriented offenses. Plus there are some new kids on the block, such as, Kolb who can make some noise.

#1. He will throw for 6,000 yards and 70 TDs, shattering all standards for QB play.

Haha sounds like my Madden Franchise except I got around 100 TDs :P

I imagine Rodgers, Mannning, Brees, Brady, Romo and Favre will have better seasons statistically. I'd be happy if he's top 10 with our running game!

Mark my words, Joe Flacco has a breakout year comparable to no other. With the acquisitions of a second possession receiver in Boldin, a legitimate burner/deep-threat in Stallworth, Rice entering his 3rd year (and being a receiving threat also), and Heap being healthy, Flacco will re-write the record books. His numbers will be

55 TD's
2 INTs
5,200 yards
374/514
QB rating =140.5

Unfortunately for Flacco, after running up the score on the jets in their week 1 match up, Bart Scott will take a cheap shot on his old teammate in the 4th quarter resulting in Flacco tearing his ACL, missing the rest of the season.

I'll call him Joe Fool if he doesn't manage that.

...So he's going to get those stats in 3 and a half quarters?

Actually, I think I should have picked 8-10. There are some great QBs at the moment and many primed for big seasons - I like us running a lot anyway.

Yes, he wins 385-3 (maybe I'm being generous with the 3, we'll see).

On a side note, Joe's game has the potential to be the most prolific in NFL history.

I'm going to guess that his stats are not going to be among the top five of the league in passing yards or touchdowns (this is Baltimore after all), but perhaps he'll be among the top ten. However, he'll still be known as the guy with the great defense, but that won't matter as long as the Ravens win. :)

People have been saying he's "developing" but this is his 3rd year. He's got to stop adjusting to the NFL level and play like a starting NFL QB. I said 13-16. We got 5 new people for Flacco to pass to now so get roll'n! :th_snapoutofit:

Joe has the physical tools to be the best in the game. He has top 5 Arm Strength, Top 5 Accuracy and is a huge guy. If he adjusts his decision making, footwork and deep passes over the middle then there is no doubt he can post top 10 stats this season, even if he only gets 25-30 shots a game.

Not only does he have the physical tools to be one of the greats over the next decade, but he has the work ethic and drive needed to get him there. I found myself criticising parts of Flacco's game last season, not just because they may have been unimpressive, but he's shown what he can do when he's on the top of his game.

This isn't blind homerism, although it may seem like it, but I believe if Flacco tweaks the aforementioned parts of his game then he has the talent and drive to be mentioned with the Manning's and Marino's of this world when all is said and done.

There are about 4 delusional people on these forums. Really 2 think he will be the best QB in the NFL even though he has never had a pro bowl season yet? Really 2 think he will be second or 3rd? I think 5-7 is what we can realistically push for even that's a stretch with QBs like Brees, Manning, Tom Baby, Rivers, Schaub, Rodgers, Favre.

"He will completely and utterly blow"

The person who said that is obviously either delusional, a hater (of the Ravens), or both.

Pretty sure Schaub and Rodgers don't belong in that company.....good QB's, but the others mentioned are far and above better!! (maybe toss in Rivers for good measure)

I picked 5-7 the considered some of the QBs out there, 8-10 is more likely on second thought.

I was about to say....

Do you really think V-Young would've made the Pro Bowl above Flacco?

Good ol' "Off Broadway" Joe. Not surprising at all considering his demeanor.

It was more about his injury. it was really bothering him in the end. He was tearing it up last season before he did get hurt.

Rodgers was one of the best QB's last year in rating, yards and touchdowns...

Rodgers name goes before Flacco's...I love Joe but I will need be a blind homer about it.

1/28/01, did you even watch the NFL last year?

Aaron Rodgers is on the verge of becoming an absolute star at Quarterback in this league. Matt Schaub also had a fine season, Flacco would struggle to put up those sorts of numbers - then there's Manning, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Favre, Romo....

Cant wait to watch Rodgers when he gets an OL. Also who does New Zealand play tomorrow? Italy?

Yeah, he danced around and still put up those numbers!

Yeah we're playing Italy! I think we'll lose 2-0 at least but one can hope for a miracle!!!

I hate to say it but Rodgers will be the best QB in the NFL in 2-3 seasons. He's put up unbelievable numbers with the Packers and when you take in account the fact he doesn't have an OL... it's astounding. If Bulaga pans out the Packers are going to become the best team in the NFC.

Rodgers seems kind of like Roethlisberger in that are. Even if he has a decent line, he might continue to scramble just because he can.

So back to Joe Flacco... He's probably never going to consistently be a stat monster, but with a team like Baltimore, he should be successful (aka win), unlike the Carson Palmers of the NFL.
