Authentic Jerseys

15 posts in this topic

I know anyone can put any "Made In" tag on any jersey, but if I order from NFL.com and get the real deal (the $400 all sewn jersey), where are they made? Ive heard Korea, Costa Rica, etc.

Thanks!

I remember there was some debate about this on eBay a few years back...

The sewn authentic NFL jerseys are made overseas before shipping;

So long as it's cool with the Mods, here's the link to that article:

http://reviews.ebay....idZp3286.c0.m17

Your safest bet, buy direct from the NFL Shop, or your teams online store (but I'd still call ahead just to be sure & make sure you get the sales rep's name).

<Now that I answered your question, you gonna buy me an authentic jersey as well? <_< I didn't think so.>

Yes please. Thanks.

I'll never drop that much on a jersey BTW. I'm just trying to answer the question.

Do you think the Elves call them "Man-Giant Numerical Sorting System Shirts"?

Probably. Or they're mistaken for over-sized blankets.

Seriously, though, if Reebok doles out the manufacturing responsibilities in a fashion similar to their footwear, the jerseys are made in multiple east-asian countries.

Well, what the article posted above stated is they are made in Korea or El Salvador ( I said Costa Rica, is that racist? ). I've bought loads of jerseys and I got one recently that said it was made in Korea but I'm sure its not truly authentic. Its decent enough for the price though.

I have one of those same jerseys, exactly the same cept black R. Lewis. The crest is wrong, the NFL logo under the neck is too big, but ya, I paid 40 bux for mine and for 40 bones CDN that aint bad.

450 - ya it was canadian. Dollar isnt too far off, but thats also just what my buddy told me so who knows. His old lady "built" the jersy for him on the NFL shop, I have never bothered to see how much they cost, and I wouldnt pay that either... 150 tops.

I tried calling him, no luck so far... Ill get a hold of him prolly later today

Pretty sure the "on field authentics" are made in the United States, as thats one of the ways to tell one of those "fake" ones made in China/Asia that you can buy for 40 bucks. I read an article a guy posted on the internet about the differences awhile ago, I dont have the time now sorry but im sure you could be able to find it on Google fairly easy.

I've found a jersey I like on eBay. Was there ever a consensus as to where the authentic Reebok jerseys were made that the NFL shop sold? Was it Korea and El Salvador? Thanks..

I have been buying jerseys on Ebay since 2004...I have been burned by really bad fakes a few times but i have learned to spot those bad ones. I can't say if i have ever purchased a "truly authentic" jersey there but the ones i have kept are pretty dead on. A lot of fakes are smaller than the size indicates and numbers, letters and colors are slightly off. Mitchell and Ness jerseys are the worst as far as counterfits go.
