I've slowly been turning my girlfriend into a football fan. Hell, I got her to drive to Cleveland with me last year to see the Ravens stomp the Browns, and trying to score tickets to Heinz Field this year so we can the Steelers get their... rear ends handed to them.

However, most of the women in my family are football fans that root for a variety of teams (Browns, Cowboys, Chiefs to name a few).

Actually no. My aunt and her daughter are Cowboy fans. It's easy to shut her down when she tries to talk about how great the Cowboys are ("Hey, remember those two big runs against Dallas? What team was that again...? Oh yeah, Baltimore. Hey, wasn't that the final game in Texas Stadium too?")

Oh my lord! Monterey is central California and it rocks. And to think, you were way up the awesome scale when you dissed the Cowboys.

OK, I'll give you a pass. :) I lived in Monterey for a while when I was in the Army. I didn't want to leave. But I can understand your point. We either stayed on the peninsula (Monterey, Carmel, etc.) or took off for points far away.

My Fiancee' bambooozled me; she pretended to be into it until we got engaged. I have to bribe her now to get her to watch a game with me.

The wife is a football fan, a Ravens fan actually. I doubt she'd watch another team aside whoever is in the SB. Took a couple of years to get into the game and breakdown the rules for her, but she's been pretty hardcore ever since we went to Lucas Oil Stadium when the Colts played the Ravens in 2008.

I was actually surprised on MNF last year (against the Packers) when the phone rang, told her mom she couldn't talk because she was watching the game. You just have to live here, most times you'd swear the phone is fused to her ear & if you were to go through our Caller ID 99.99% of the calls are her mom. So yeah, pleasantly surprised.

We're going to try to attend the Cincy game @ Paul Wood Stadium in Week 2 this year since the Browns game will be a slaughter and nothing else comes close to Indiana. So, hopefully see you there.

You know if only more married women would get into football it would save a lot of needless fights during the football season, huh? lol. Unless of course this woman happens to be completely out of her head and is a Cowboy or Raider fan...God forbid what a horrible nightmare that would be. :(

I was in for 6 years as a Russian Linguist with some Electronics Warfare on the side - got to spend 14 months in Monterey, CA at the Presidio of Monterey learning Russian (20 months total training overall). I was thoroughly convinced before going there that it would look exactly like scenes from "Top Gun". It actually wasn't that far off, minus a few palm trees.

My middle son started in last season that he wanted to be a Steelers fan... that was when I started packing his bags. (LOL) .. But seriously -- I did.

It's great having the wife watch games with me, makes it easier to go to the bathroom when I really gotta go -- or to the kitchen to get seconds on the steak nachos. Kids are slowly but surely catching on to the game, but they're unreliable when it comes to telling me what's going on.

Nice to see girls are getting into the game a lot more though.

My wife is not into message boards and the like but she is a big football fan.
She grew up in MA. so she was a Pats fan for many many years, even when they sucked.
Since Princess brady has been acting like a spoiled sissy she disowned the pats and is now a full flegged Ravens fan. :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

She is actually very knowledageble of the game too. Its funny to see guys try to talk down to her about football and have her come back and school them.

She rocks :)

My fiance doesn't care much for football. She also refuses to watch with me because she knows if the Ravens lose that I'll blame her (she eggs me on during games) and will be miserable for the rest of the day.

Yeah I think a lot of women have come around to it I think once they see it's actually and interesting and complicated sport that's when they start really wanting to learn and watch. I started watching when I was maybe 14 or 15 which is not the norm for a girl to start liking a game like football but I got hooked and have been hooked ever since. :)

My wife and I used to get into it about me going out on Sundays. She only knows rugby seeing as she's from South Africa. I got her to come out with me back when Flacco was a rookie and she's a football sponge at this point. She can name 20 guys on the roster. I'll pop quiz her on terminology and she's on point [Yoda] Proud I am of her [/Yoda]

I was lucky, my dad took me to games when it was not cool to take your daughter to games in the 70's and it is hilarious when my husband and his friends call me to ask a question.
