Is Ray Lewis The Only Active Ravens Player With A Ring?

21 posts in this topic

I got to thinking this morning... Is Ray Lewis the only active player on the Ravens who has a Superbowl ring? I checked out our current player roster and I don't see anyone else who has a ring... so I figured I'd post the question!

EDIT: I'm referring to ALL active Ravens players, not players who won in 2000 (only Ray is left anyways)- but players who won on ANY team and now play for the Ravens.

Pryce has two Super Bowl rings with the Broncos, that's for sure.

EDIT: Oh and of course Gregg was in the 2000 squad that earned the trophy in Tampa.

This is something I somehow forgot about. There are only two players on the entire team, by my estimation at least, that have Super Bowl rings, and they are: Ray Lewis and Trevor Pryce. So you see, this just adds on to the team's desire to win the Super Bowl. Hope this fuels them throughout the entire year!

Edit: Wow, Gregg's been on our team forever, it seems like haha.

He was a Raven. (LINK) On our practice squad.

Gregg was signed to the practice squad of the Baltimore Ravens on September 13, 2000. He earned a Super Bowl ring when the team beat the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV.

Wasn't AD on our practice squad during 2000?

He played in three games, not sure if he started out on PS. But what does he have to do with anything? He's gone.

PS - sweet username, you were lucky to get that one!

I'd have to agree 100% that Ray Ray and Pryce have rings. Gregg I'm not positive on. According to rules I've read, the team gets one--after that, practice squad, front office, administration, etc. it depends on the owner who gets them. I'd imagine he does, but I can't say he does definitively. Out of 150 rings provided by the NFL, they probably should get one since they helped the team in practices throughout the season. Anything over 150 rings, the owner has to pay for out of pocket. Not really sure who makes that cut. I don't believe wikipedia : D

For anything that you're not sure about on wikipedia just look at the original reference.

Suffice it to say, Gregg earned one that year. He just doesn't wear it (his own choice) because he didn't play in the game:

Man, Mason and Boldin not having rings is nothing to joke about. I mean it's just depressing to realize.

We should offer him a one day retirement contract just to piss him off.

Redding? Are you saying the Lions went to the superbowl? seems like the lions even making the playoffs would've been news to me.

Yeah I do not know what he is talking about here? The only other team he played for was Seattle right? And it sure didn't happen there either.

Yeah I had thought he was on the Seahawks at the time but he was still a Lion. Will go back and edit.

We have or rather we had David Tyree on our team. He has a ring and is famous for his "catch"
