i hate cousins and i hope he pans out for a replacement for gaithers even tho it hurts. I was high on him last year but if you dont want to play to take your spot back then why should i care to root for you.

I don't hate him, but after that second Steelers game, I don't want him anywhere near any side of Flacco. Be it in front, on the sides, or behind. (lol)

If you exclude the two sacks he gave up against Lamar Woodley, that game he wasn't that bad. He played a solid game, and in all fairness, theres a lot of tackles that give up sacks to Lamar Woodley. I think if we don't have Gaither next year, I wouldn't be to scared to put Cousins at RT. Not saying he is better than Gaither, but I could see him being a solid fit.

i admit im a hater when it comes to him but i would rather see someone who wants to play make mistakes then someone who doesnt care end up letting my qb get injuried. I mean if im wrong about gaithers then i will admit i was wrong but with his new agent came a new attitude that i dont like.

It's not the sacks, it was the penalties. Half of the time he didn't even look like he knew what he was doing. But either way, it was against the Steelers, so you have to give him credit for stepping in and playing like he did.

I just wish Gaither would play this year on the other end, then be payed like it. It's so frustrating because there's really no option for him with his lack of motivation. I hope he doesn't want to pull a Jason Brown and be shipped to the NFC West. Stay with a contender Jared, but just take a slight pay cut. We need him. Sometimes I wish I had the freaking problems these players have.

Settle for 7 million a year or 10 million? Lucky them.

He's got a little Rosenhaus on his shoulder, telling him he's worth more and that he's not appreciated, etc. It's a shame, like Berad said, he played through a lot and sacrificed for the team - but that was pre-Rosenhaus as I recall.

I hope we're all just speculating and they'll come to some sort of agreement that fits everyone involved.

Can't argue about Cousins on that one.

I understand your frustration with Gaither. He has a jerk of an agent and I have a feeling Gaither isn't making all of his decisions, and he's listening to the guy who has more experience on how to get him more money. Which is why it's important for not only athletes, but everyone to surround themselves with people around them that will help them make the right decision.

I don't think we can call out his motivation or how hard he works. Because when he is on the field he is an animal, and he's had to work real hard to learn the position that he has, considering he didn't start playing till college. I'm frustrated with how this off season has gone with him, but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I read an article in Espn the magazine talking about how much athletes get paid. We all imagine that athletes get paid so much, but when you look at it, they have a lot of expenses too. They usually have to pay for their families to get out of the projects, they have to buy their own houses and cars, and then if they are traded they have to sell and buy another house, and sometimes theres no buyers for their old house. And since they have never had money, they don't know how to handle it responsibly which to some extent you can't blame them for. They have to manage this money for the rest of their lives, because some might not even be physically able to have a job, and some just a few fries short of happy meal so its not like they can do a lot in the work field.

Then they are basically modern day gladiators and sacrifice years off of their lives for our entertainment. Easy for me to say, "he is greedy" when what I consider work is behind a keyboard.

With Oher already named the starting LT, i don't get why you would waste time asking this question again? Gaither has been on this team for a couple of years now, and i have consistantly seen a couple things from him that will probably never change: his lack of work ethic, and he lack of consistency on the field. Don't get me wrong, Gaither is more than worth the 5th round pick we invested in him, he has the physical tools and size to be a premier LT in this league. If there is anyone in the NFL today that has potential to be the next Johnathan Ogden on size and skill set alone, its Jared Gaither imo. But he doesn't have what it takes in terms of work ethic. We followed Ogden for so long, the man worked so hard to improve his game every year from the start. He had something inside him that motivated him to give it his all every play and be the best he can be for the team. You see these traits in Micahel Oher. After i saw Oher playing LT last year, i instantly knew Oher had to be the starting LT long term, and he was only playing as a rookie too. You see Gaither handle some of the best ends and linebackers like a premier LT, but then the other half of the time he is just sloppy and doesn't look like he cares. Then he asks to be paid like he is a premier pro bowl LT. And yet another offseason he is slacking off and making excuses, skipping OTA and i'm sure he will be skipping or lazy at future workouts. Great to have him back, but he deserves to be demoted. Size can only take you so far.

I totally agree that Gaither's work ethic and performance on the field is inconsistent. Oher is the answer for the future
