What do you guys think about the Bengals this year? I feel much more confident in our team this year; still, Cincinnati has a very strong roster.

They're defense should, again, be top-flight - or at least top 10 in the league. And if Cedric Benson was anything like he was in 2009, they'll have a strong running game, too. Palmer is a good QB, as well. They're major competition.

Although the Bengals are ussually inconsistent, they have a good amount of youth on their team, and I see them at least a 500 this year. I love their defense especially now that they got Pacman as a number 3 corner. Doesnt really matter because we will most likely win the division.

While the Bengals do have a solid team, there are two reasons why I won't be too worried about them, just yet. First, the Bengals have had solid teams in the past. They've yet to ever prove to be consistent, this is the year for them to prove that can have winning back-to-back seasons. Secondly, Carson Palmer is far from durable, and there's no real talent behind him on their depth chart. Should Palmer go down for an extended amount of time, then the Bengals are going to turn into a very one dimensional team.

I think the games against the Bengals, Steelers and Jets will be pivotal in our season and we shouldn't under-estimate any of them. A win against the Jets will give us a real burst that will carry us through the early part of the season. The Bengals and Steelers are gonna be tough, close games and if we go 4-0 or 3-1 (thus 6-0 or 5-1 in our division!) then we're looking at least a twelve win season and homefield advantage. These are the bloody, messy parts of the road to the Superbowl that will make us a stronger and more competitive post-season football team.

I would do:
1. Saints
2. Colts
3. Vikings(if Favre returns)
4. Ravens
5. Packers
6. Jets
7. Cowboys

I'm positive we will be better then the Jets this year, the packers will do really well again and will probably be on par or close to us this season and I dont see the cowboys doing too much, make playoffs and lose again.
I have to put the Pack at #4, they were just physically overpowering in our match up last season. I know this season may be different, but they made us look bad at lambeau. I wanted to cry watching that game. We did make it competitive though with 2 quick scores

I'd be happy with 4-2 in the division, 5-1 would be excellent. Cincy will be very tough to sweep and Pittsburgh is always tough.

I know hate is a strong word, but dammit, I hate the Jets. They have no ties to us other than they have our old defensive coordinator and a couple of players that thrived in our system. But it's not that, it's the sheer fact of how highly overrated they are. Mark Sanchize proved NOTHING last year, yet he's destined to take them to the SB? Cromartie is vastly over-appreciated while I think even a rookie (Wilson) will be able to beat him out. I'm so sick and tired about hearing about this team. They don't belong in the top five of any power ranking.

Anyway, the Ravens should be in the top 4. Not because I'm a homer, but because I think they will go places this year. The Bengals don't scare me, sorry. Neither does Minnesota even with Favre. He's one sack away from being in a retirement home.

I think the Bengals shake their inconsistency bug this year. They're going to be very, very good. That said, the Ravens are going to be better.

If you want to be the best, start by beating good teams in your own division. It's not going to be an easy road this year but I think the Ravens will be one better than the Bengals.

Tough to say, but given their history I'm guessing that they'll be the same old Bungles. Last year it seemed like most teams outside of the division figured them out. If the Ravens can have a consistently good, duel threat offense (as opposed to the Ray Rice show) and ease up on the penalties, and if the Steelers can become the Steelers again, the Bengals will probably be in big trouble.

Mmm, I wonder if they're due to implode again? I hope, in a way, that they're strong - so we're well battle-tested within our division!

I would hope they are strong this year as that will just season our team even more for when we get into the playoffs. On paper they're very strong especially with the addition of Gresham and Bryant. Zimmer is running a great defense as well and he has great personnel to work with. We can still sweep the division.

People need to get off the Jets bandwagon. They're not as good as everyone thinks.
Amen.

Last year we had the talent to go toe to toe with any team in the NFL, we just struggled with discipline and execution. It's hard to predict just how things like that will work out, but if we improve in both of those categories, paired with our upgraded roster most Coaches will be thinking along the lines of "Ohh, Fu..., we have the Ravens this week."

One of my favourite things in sports is seeing bandwagon legions disappointed! Let them all jump on the Jets bandwagon, will make beating them even sweeter!

I'm not only hopeful the Ravens beat the Jets but that NE and Miami(who Jets fans seem to feel their team is far superior than) handle them too.

Yeah I would also enjoy that. Go Buffalo, even! Not that I'll hold my breath for that team to win against the Jets; let alone many teams... lol

I agree.

Like I told my co-worker this morning after he told me the Jets will win the Superbowl, "Yeah, the Jets are so good the only reason they made it in the playoffs was because Manning rode the bench and the Bengals didn't need a win."

IMO the 2009 Jets season were 7-9, not 9-7. Had the Colts and Bengals needed to win those games... Ryan would have egg on his face in February.

2010 Jets will go 8-8 or 9-7 and miss the playoffs. 2011 Jets will 5-11 or 4-12 considering 10-12 of their starters will be gone.

Lots of players on the Bills annoy me greatly. Maybin and Whitner have real attitudes on them; whilst Lynch is obviously the same.

I do like WR Stevie Johnson though, he's a cool guy. We chat on Twitter :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

To be fair, the Bengals needed to win the following week and they still couldn't get it done.

It's not unheard of for teams to drop well-off the Super Bowl radar after winning it all. Repeats are rare and sometimes teams don't even make the playoffs.

Atlanta at 7 and Houston at 9? That seems too high, I would have Cincinnati and New England before them.
