Ray Initially Positive On Harbaugh

40 posts in this topic

Yeah so, some good news, though it deserved its own thread.

NFL Countdown has Ray on as a special analyst. He said he was impressed with Harbaugh's energy and thought his personality would be a good fit with the players.

Good stuff.

Ray is a constant professional and he wants to win. Any chance at getting to that he is in for.

good to start things off on a positive and high note first and foremost.....building trust and confidence in your players is a key factor in which plays a crucial role in how the season and the future will turn out to be.

So, Steve Bisciotti is being proven right in his analysis of Ray. Could somebody please tell Mike Preston that.

J.O. and Ray are cut from the same cloth. I am only worried about how Suggs feels about this because if Rex leaves he could decided to follow him. I think the rest of our players know that this is a much need change and they will embrace the breath of fresh air.

Let's see if Ray stays happy if REX does not return

Are you a real Ravens fan? No offense but you dont seem to know the organization or players very well at all. Ray would be happy for Rex if Rex got a head coaching job somewhere.

Yep but I am glad Garrett went back to Dallas. I was secretly hoping and praying that he didnt come here.

i think alot of that whole deal had to do with Jones Calling him up on the phone every day, every hour practically, which never allowed Garret to have a FULL view of his options and opportunity's presented to him....i mean if some kept calling me up and saying this and saying that....and offering this and that....my vision would be a little bit obscured to say the least.

I don't think Ray would mind Rex leaving for two reasons. one what you just said, can be said about him and any of the players or staff on this team. We all want to see Rex get a HC job because he deserves it. Now the other reason, I'd say, is because Ray seemed to be getting a little frustrated with all the wacky schemes Rex designs (I recall him wanting a more traditional 4-3 D that worked for us in 2000). Not that Ray would tell him to get the hell outta Baltimore, but I don't think he would be disappointed if we brought in someone new as DC.

It'd be nice to bring Rex back, and if he doesn't get a HC job anywhere else we most definately should, but a new guy wouldn't necessarily hurt this team either, as long as he knows what hes doing and how to get the most out of the players. That's all that matters, and that's why I think Harbaugh is our new coach, I think he can do those things given the right mindset. Luckily I think the Ravens are relatively unselfish and will play hard for anyone who gives them what they give on the field. 110% and then some.

Would have been NICE to give the HC job to REX. And have HIRED a NEW DC.... just my opinion.

Rex wouldn't be a bad HC, there's no disagreement there. However, I kinda like the change, and if Rex doesn' get hired anywhere else we can at least bring him back for another year to see how Harbaugh pays off and if he sucks we can go with Rex maybe? There are a lot of good coaches out there, and a lot of coaches that havent had a chance to prove themselves yet. Ditka, Bilichek, and other great coaches have come from special teams backgrounds and Harbaugh has 9 years with Philly, with nothing but good things to say about him. He's a big risk but the biggest risks can reap the biggest rewards. I look forward to next year :)

Agreed, no one is going to bad mouth the man who wants to redesign this team. Ray will have to get along with him, if not the other players will not respect Harbaugh and he will have too make some huge decisions concerning Mr. Lewis.

ray lewis is a cancer to our D

he should retire to the sidelines

hes gettin old and noone wants to see him leave

with the money we save from not havin him we could get a new qb or o-line

and the offence is wat we need to be focused on

baltimore hasnt seen a great qb since johnny u

and it would be nice to see one again

Ray Lewis is a cancer? Wow. I probably should have just ignored that statement.

Ray is the best thing we've got going for our defense. Ray is definitely one of the reasons reed and landry have developed and matured into the players they are today. Sure his play is decreasing in time, but hes the leader of our team, and we cant let him go.

Don't worry...our little friendly PM exchange probably softened that person's stance on that statement...

He's the reason that every defensive player that leaves Baltimore recieves big money because he makes all of them look good. Ask Thomas and Hartwell, how playing next Lewis has paid off for them.

I bet if Ray never came here in Baltimore, we would have been the laughing stock in the NFL. Ray is certainly not a cancer.
