For budget builds I've been using the phenom 2 x6 cpus and they do well. I can get the top of the line model sub 200. The average amd build is a hundred or 2 cheaper than an intel build from what I've found all things being equal.

My in-laws bought my son one (yeah, a freakin one year old....they're Filipino and love their gadgets, so what are you gonna do).

Its cool, but I am not an Apple guy. Closest I get to that is Ubuntu OS.

Got a 360 which I barely use.. I prefer skating.

I've also got a pretty good stationary computer that doesn't work *shrug* don't ask why... Disc boot failure, insert system disc and press enter.. Riiiiiiiight....

AND I have a MacBook Pro, which I'm using for a lot of stuff at the moment.

I got a OCZ 60gb to run Steam and a Kingston 30GB for my OS

Super fast, my boot time now after my hardware posts, is 2 whole seconds. Steam is
snappy, as all my games load in a blink of an eye.

Also, anyone shop at Microcenter? Took a trip the other day to the one outside of philly
and grabbed a Blu Ray drive for 50 bucks.

We've been using ssd dives in all of our laptops at work since last year. My only reservation is longevity which we will find out about over time. I haven't invested in them personally or for customer machines due to price but that will change eventually.

yeah the Lifetime of solid sate drives are unkown now. Been running mine for a month or more no, and no problems.

Exactly, which is why I haven't bought in personally. only reason we did it at work is because boss man jumped in on it.

I'd use them personally but my clients would likely rebuff them. The sizes aren't affordable yet which forces you to have at least 2 drives now. Try explaining to a customer that you have to install programs to something other than C drive, good luck with that.

exactly, lol..... most people when they download programs they click NEXT NEXT NEXT NEXT, which is why they have hundreds of browser toolbars and let alone know what a C/boot drive is

I fix people computers and am amazed at how people cant figure this stuff out. 12 yahoo toolbars, 5 ask.com toolbars, lol.
