[Blogs] Late For Work 6/4: Walker: NFL Or Bust!

As much as i hated the way that frank walker played last year, with all the penalties and such, and i am "somewhat" glad that he isnt here anymore, i will say in retrospect that the main problem with our secondary is almost identical to the problems we had with our offense...the line. Both lines were having problems last year. First, defensively, there was absolutely no pass rush on our team period. i dont care what cb's you have out there, if you give even the worst qbs 4-5sec in the pocket, they will hit a receiver, everytime. Frank wass beaten, but if you go back and look at those plays, take a look at the qbs we faced and how much time they had because our d-line did almost noting to hurry or force any mistakes. secondly, i keep hearing that the "dump off" passes to Rice were a sign of Flacco's incompetence??? Again, look at those plays, they were not by design at all. It was a compounding set of issues, Flaccos mobility due to his hip issue (which he took like a man and denied in order to keep playing) and the lack of offensive blocking in order to protect their QB. So...to all who cried last year about our corners, go learn about football to understand that sometimes its more than the "guy" that makes the visual mistake, but the times where the PROXIMATE CAUSE is the other men on the field. eg. when a qb throws what appears to be the stupid pass thats picked off, and you dont know that it was the receiver that ran the wrong play route. Thats why they say the real battles are in the trenches and yet they rarely get the press, good or bad. I believe that my opinion and the facts i stated above are very accurate, because my barometer which is Ozzie Newsome nad Eric DeCosta said so by the way they drafted this year. Take a look at the depth on our Dline this season. Those problems will be solved now. Going back to Guys like Walker...He was great on Special Teams, hit like a truck and could be a legitimate cb...with the right team, (anyone notice how much Ray and Suggs and Reed loved that guy?) shame he wont be here to prove it now, its football.

I'm so pleased with our secondary right now. Even if Webb and Fabs don't make it back in time, we have a great cast. I could live with or without Ivy, but i am SO GLAD to see Frank Walker gone.

ESPN is a joke. Their blogs are a joke. Pro steelers. You'll get banned if you post bad things about them ( even if it's 100% true ) because we all know steelers fans are cry baby hypocrits that talk more trash than anyone but will report you and you'll get banned if you say TRUE things they don't like.
So who really cares what such a biased site like ESPN thinks.
