It's an open position where you can play a RB, WR or TE. In our league, you won't be able to play a QB in it though.
RB, WR, or TE you say ehh, I like it as it could change draft day up a bit and make things a little more interesting.

I signed up. I am the purple warp's!
dang it i can not make the live draft.
do i put it on auto pick or?
I just set up a random draft time. We can discuss a more convenient draft time when everyone has signed up.

Quick Question, I am in a league that drafts tonight. It's a 10 team league and the draft starts at 7PM, I am drafting # 2 Overall, so obviously the easy choice is take whoever the # 1 draft pick don't take between CJ and AP, but I want to take Ray Rice. Should I pass on either CJ or AP for Ray or just take whichever RB falls to me between CJ and AP.

I couldn't pass on AP or CJ if I was sitting at number 2. Also I joined your league as well ATD.

Shockingly, the dude who drafted # 1 took Drew Brees # 1 Overall. Which left me on a decision between AP & CJ. I wanted to take CJ but took AP because of the current contract dispute and holdout by CJ and the Titans. I was also able to get DeAngelo Williams in the 2nd round and Calvin Johnson in the 3rd. I just got done Round 5 and I got Joe Flacco in round 5. I'm amazed by the fact I was able to get Williams in round 2, I'll give you my full roster after the draft is done. This is a real draft, not a Mock just to let you guys know.

Oh I know I was shocked! I was like come on dude, your making it hard on me lol. Ultimately I picked AP because of CJ's contract dispute. I had a very good draft, now this was a 10 team draft but people were picking crazy which left me stacked at RB. I may trade Williams to upgrade my receiving position and with only 2 RB slots for use on Game Day and me not too happy with my recieving core, I may try to upgrade my receiver, and I think Jonathon Stewart will get more carries than Williams this year. Not too bad of a draft though.

1. Adrian Peterson
2. DeAngelo Williams
3. Calvin Johnson
4. Marques Colston
5. Joe Flacco
6. Brent Celek
7. Baltimore Defense
8. Garrett Hartley(I know too early for a Kicker but all well)
9. Pierre Thomas
10. Hines Ward
11. Antonio Bryant
12. Marion Barber
13. Kenny Britt
14. David Garrard
15. Marcedes Lewis

Deangelo was a beast for me all last year, I took him with the last pick in the 1st round(12th), I wouldn't trade him as I think you are fine with your receivers. I would be extremely happy to have AP and Williams in my backfield.

How could you not be happy, it looks solid to me. I had megatron last season and he put up solid numbers. Marques colston is on a pass happy team, Antonio bryant is sure to get alot of looks this season. I wouldnt be too upset.

Why not? I know where my true allegiances lie. If a Steeler can help me win my league, so be it.

Looking over the scoring for the league, you aren't doing bonuses for milestones in passing and rushing yardage?

Just did a public league, 10 team draft and my god was it easy. Picking 2nd;

1 - Adrian Peterson

2 - Ryan Matthews

3 - Roddy White

4 - Philip Rivers

5 - Mike Sims-Walker

6 - Donald Driver

7 - Jason Witten

8 - Robert Meachem

9 - Beanie Wells

10 - Jeremy Maclin

11 - Fred Jackson

12 - Ben Roethlisberger

13 - Zach Miller

14 - Lawrence Tynes

15 - Miami

Driver was a last resort after my list of 3 receivers disappeared in the 3 picks before mine.

Oh I know, plus I have Kenny Britt to use every once in a while. Plus I think DeAngelo Williams may lose carries to Stewart which would drop his playing time. I may try to upgrade my Tight End Position instead because I'm not sure about Brent Celek. I may try for a trade for a TE or pick up a Free Agent TE like Jermaine Gresham or John Carlson. I'm also sure someone may try to trade for a running back since I'm stacked with having AP, Williams, Pierre Thomas and Marion Barber.

Personally, I like getting a bonus for your quarterback or runningback hitting so many yards or so. However, it's hardly something I look for in a FF league. I was the opposite of you though, I've never had a league without bonuses.

Alright. How much was the bonus in your leagues?

Also, to answer your question in th league, I haven't figured out how to change the flex spot to W/R/T but QBs can't be used in that spot.

I skimmed over the option quickly. You can change it to either a W/R, W/T or W/R/T. I've decided to go with the last one since it's a true flex spot.

I can't remember off the top of my head what the average bonus was for in my previous leagues. I had some that gave 5 at 200 yards, 10 at 300 yards, and 15 at 350 (or 400). Right now, I'm torn between going that right or keeping it at 5 points for each milestone.

Like:
Passing
200 Yards - 5 Points
300 Yards - 5 or 10 Points
400 Yards - 5 or 15 Points

Rushing
100 Yards - 5 Points
150 Yards - 5 or 10 Points
200 Yards - 5 or 15 Points

Receiving
100 Yards - 5 Points
150 Yards - 5 or 10 Points
200 Yards - 5 or 15 Points

My only worry about going 5, 10, 15 is making it unbalanced. Like, a quarterback who throws for 300 yards will walk away with at least 22 points, even if he doesn't throw for a touchdown (which is unlikely, so you're looking at at least 28, if not 34 points).

Thats how I can envision it. 200 yards for a QB isn't much.

:34853_doh: I completely misinterpreted and thought the milestones were based on the season. I think I'll just go with 1, 2 and 3 points so scores don't get ridiculous.

I think the problem with using 1,2, or 3 points would be decreasing the value of points per TD thus making yards more important than TD's. The problem I see with going 5,10,15 points would be the big amount of point differential, 1 yard could be the difference of 5 points.

Here's the NFL scoring system so you can take a look

Offense (default) Points
Stat Yds/per
Passing Yards 25 yds 1 Pts
Passing Touchdowns 4 Pts
Interceptions Thrown -2 Pts
Rushing Yards 10 yds 1 Pts
Receiving Yards 10 yds 1 Pts
Rush./Recv. Touchdowns 6 Pts

Defense (default) Points
Stat Yds/per
Sacks 1 Pts
Interceptions 2 Pts
Fumbles Recovered 2 Pts
Safeties 2 Pts
Touchdowns 6 Pts

Uh... it doesn't affect points by TDs at all. What we're talking about is when, say, a quarterback throws 300 yards, they get an additional say, 5 points. 25 yards still equal 1 point, nothing else really changes.

Every league I've been in that gives 5, 10, and 15 bonus points has been competitive and hasn't had a differential that truly effects anything. Quarterbacks ended up with an average of 30-50 points per game. Which is either alot or average, depending on how your previous leagues operated.
