Leagues can now begin being created in Yahoo and I was wondering who wants a start a league. The bigger the better...

I have no problem when we draft.

I have no problem with being the commissioner but if someone else wants to do it, great.

add me in too. I have already joined 1 Yahoo FF League, and I'm willing to join another. Just let me know whenever the draft is so i can plan on it. Right now I'm just messing with the Mock Draft feature and testing out my draft strategy and seeing how I want to do things in the real draft. So Count me in.

I'm going to start mocking too. I was addicted to it last season.

Yeah, I actually had a pretty decent mock, drafted 3rd overall and got Drew Brees in the first round and here is how the rest of my mock went:

1st- Drew Brees
2nd- Vernon Davis
3rd- Marques Colston
4th- Brandon Jacobs
5th- Mike Sims Walker
6th- Vikings Defense
7th- Jason Campbell
8th- Michael Crabtree
9th- Beanie Wells
10th- Nate Washington
11th- Dustin Keller
12th- LeSean McCoy
13th- Louis Murphy
14th- Nick Folk
15th- Dez Bryant

That was a pretty good mock for me. The thing that hurt me was that I didn't take Ray Rice or some other RB in the first when I took Drew Brees. I did get Brandon Jacobs, but I also picked up Beanie Wells in the 9th who I think is going to be a sleeper because of the Cardinals improved offensive line and with Leinart taking over, I expect more running and more carries for Wells. I did stack up on WRs but if this was a real draft(again this was a MOCK) I would have been searching for people in Free Agency.

Good stuff. I'm surprised you took some guys where you did but like you said, it was a mock.

I'm in 14-team mock right now and some chump took Dan LeFevour in Round 7.

Where's this mock draft you guys are referring to?

Yahoo(and I'm assuming other sites do as well) allows you to do mock drafts.

wow amazing, hopefully he is not the backup to the starter. I just finished another mock now, and it's actually better. This time I picked 5th overall. I am learning I can wait on a QB, not sure if it will be the case by the real draft but so far in these two mocks I have done, I can certainly wait on a QB. My first mock, Tom Brady went in the 5th round, in this mock I just finished, Big Ben went in the 11th round at the 9th selection, Rivers went at the bottom of round 2 and I got Joe in round 5. I kinda wish that was a real draft, I would be sitting pretty for a championship run. I'm just doing mocks to test how I draft from different positions, the first mock i drafted 3rd, the second I drafted 5th, so I'm just trying different spots on the board to see how it goes.

1st- DeAngelo Williams(learned from not taking a RB in the first from my first mock)
2nd- Brandon Marshall
3rd- Marques Colston
4th- Vernon Davis
5th- Joe Flacco
6th- Zach Miller(OAK)
7th- Antonio Bryant
8th- Thomas Jones
9th- Saints Defense
10th- Golden Tate
11th- Sebastian Janikowski (Kicker)
12th- Glen Coffee
13th- Alex Smith
14th- Brandon LaFell

DeAngelo is a quality RB but Jonathan Stewart is why I wouldn't draft him 5th overall.

As for strategy, usually waiting till at least 6th round to draft either QBs or TEs. And my last two picks are always kickers and a D.

I just wrapped up a draft drafting in the 7th slot. I'm lined up to do one with the 1st pick right now and want to do one in the last spot later on.

That's pretty much what I'm doing, is just testing out different slots, I have drafted at 3rd, 5th and 2nd(which im working on now) and I'm going to move down the draft board and pick # 1 overall. I'm just trying to get a feel on who may go where, what position I can wait on to draft, what position I need to draft early on, etc.

Okay, I tired this again picking at 7 (don't know why, I figured seven should give me about an even spot to pick at):
1. Steven Jackson
2. Brandon Marshall
3. Anquan Boldin
4. Donovan McNabb
5. Tony Gonzalez
6. Dez Bryant
7. Laurence Maroney
8. Ben Roethlisberger
9. Austin Collie
10. Willis McGahee
11. Devery Henderson
12. Heath Miller
13. Early Doucet
14. Denver D/ST
15. Jay Feely

Not too bad. McGahee, Miller, an Doucet were steals for what I needed and the round I got them at.

You'd be pretty with a team like that except your RB corps is shaky.

I've picked up Miller late in both my drafts today. Great to have a TE with TE1 upside as your #2. Last year, I took Celek late in both my leagues and he ended up outperforming the guys I was expecting big thimgs from(Witten and Keller).

Yeah, after Jackson, there isn't much to it. Maroney had his weeks last year, as did McGahee.... but eh. I waited a bit too long to pick my backups

Owning Maroney is a pain. Just when you think he's about to get a good number of touches, Faulk, Morris and 10 other 30+ RBs get the carrries.

McGahee should make a decent RB3 this season but I'm doubt he hits double digits scores.
