Our Kicking Problem

19 posts in this topic

our solution to our kicking problem is to draft alex henery from nebraska next year. this kid is about as automatic as it gets and hit a 57 yrd fg to win a game in neb. In november. one NE kicker has worked well for us, we need this guy.

He is a beast but we really need a solution this year. I think Cundiff needs competition because let's face it there should be competition at every position. Even when we had Stover we would bring in another kicker for competition like Rhys Lloyd.

But I would love to get Alex next year. A kicker that can punt as well is huge.

Gano was a great punter and came out of college as a K and we let him go... BAD MOVE

There are a lot of legs in college, but not a lot of guys capable of handling the extra pressure and workload of the NFL. I've learned not to get too excited over long distance feet in college... simply because they have a more important stress test to face when they hit the big league.

I agree 100%. I would love for the Ravens to bring Money Graham back and not just because I'm a FSU fan.

I think Gano hit the ball consistently better then Haushcka as well as more accurately. Yes he missed 2 kicked, but so did Haushcka, and Haushcka's misses were far worse then the rookie Gano's. Gano missed a kick on a last second rushed FG attempt that was unnecessary, plus there was a poor snap(the first of many last year). Then he made a rookie mistake and over compensated for the wind and pushed it wide left, however if u think back to the kicked, he hit it strongly and accurately, the wind just didn't take it like he was hoping.

I think Graham Gano will be a really good kicker in the NFL, maybe even one of the best. Jason Elam of Denver comes to mind. If for whatever reason the Redskins should let him go, I would love for him to take that short trip and put on the Ravens uniform again.

Who scored the first and last points during the UFL's first season? Graham Gano. Lets see how Billy kicks this year, I think he was pretty good last year. Alex Henery has another year of college to play and during the 2011 draft who knows where he will go.

Enough said.

I'm sure Billy's out there trying to prove his worth to this organization, but in the back of his mind he knows there is no one in Baltimore to take his job away from him. With that said, who is to say he's playing with all he's got? Him?

The preseason and the first four games of the regular season should be enough to tell what's really going on in his head.

I'll be the first to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, but fool me once and it'll take more than just your word to convince me the second time around.

Funny how a college kid is a long term solution.....he may be AWESOME, but even Ray (the original Ray) was a "stretch" per the experts.

I'm all for having competition to push the players to improve but, maybe in this case there weren't any vet kickers wanting to step into this situation. Some probably believe they should be able to step into a starting gig without having to prove themselves. Who knows for sure?

Quite possibly the Ravens are thinking we may not have as many stalled drives as in the past with the offense we will be fielding. On the other hand, we should be a least able to get deeper into an opponents territory, making field goals easier to manage.

My hope is that we score 6pts on every drive, limiting the kicker to pat's only. I know I'm just dreaming though!

no one seems to mention the fact that our long snapper was injuried durning the time that cundiff went 12-17. i guess thats not important only hating on a guy who came in and did what he was suppose to do. when we let stover go i was hurt an upset but cundiff brought some calm an peace to my world. cundiff will be our kicker an anyone who doesnt like it get over yourself because no ones taking his job anytime soon.
