Josh Morris, UDFA CB, Available Again...

The most coveted of the UDFA CB's the Ravens were interested in that was reported to sign with us but actually signed with the Eagles has been cut. He is again available. He sounded impressive and in most of the threads on this site, he was generating the most excitement and enthusiasm.

Do you think we should bring him in for a look? Or are we set now...

I remember him and was a little disappointed when he went with the green birds. Was looking forward to seeing him work out here!

Why was he cut already, does anyone know? Something must have really went wrong for him to be cut during OTA's. Maybe they ran out of DB jersey numbers!

The only info I could find is that he was released the same day they signed a safety released by the Saints which would move Macho Harris back to CB.

Bring him in for a look-see. What would it hurt? We wanted to take a look at him anyway. But then again, the dude already turned his back on us once!

yea i couldnt find much info either, but i think they wanted him to try safety but couldnt make the transition, which makes sense according to what you said about him being cut the same day they signed a safety.

i agree it wouldnt hurt to give him a look, even though we've improved our depth and we're in a lot better shape than most are giving us credit for. but youth and depth never hurt, and we've always been great at finding that diamond in the rough, and he was out top CB prospect.

to the point of him turning his back on us: we don't know that that is definitely the case. he was on the early, unofficial UDFA lists but that doesnt mean he had definitely agreed to sign with us... he was named on a list on a fan site which began to circulate and his name made it onto more lists... he may have made a verbal committment and then changed his mind, or it could just be someone jumped the gun wanting to be the first with a list of names, and that he decided the eagles instead (probably bc they offered more money bc the ravens are known for not offering good contracts to UDFA's but offering one of the best chances to actually make the team).

either way i dont see how it could hurt bringing him in for a look. he looked to have great potential and if he works out great! if not we cut him and thats that; no harm done...

Ozzie knows his way around UDFA's. I'm happy with whoever comes into camp.

Well, he wasn't generating most and wasn't most impressive, but yes there was some talk about him. After we signed Fisher and got all new rookies, as of now, we are set. If anything, it will be some cutting time coming soon.

Aston Hall and Prince Miller were and are generating more excitement. They have been participating in the team activities and both are making good progress.

The guy to keep an eye on is Cary Williams. He's looked great in the OTAs. I just hope he keeps it up when training camp opens. He did look impressive playing special teams and in his one start at CB.

Yes, Cary Williams has been great this offseason. With our injury issues, Williams should be in the mix for the starting spot. It may be too early to tell, but he is definitely getting better.
