Which One Of Our Rookies Do You See Making An Impact?

25 posts in this topic

None of the rookies we drafted are really sure-fire starters but who do you see making an impact his rookie year?

I'm going to go with Sergio Kindle on the passing downs. He can already rush the passer but he's now improving it with an already good pass rusher in Antwaan Barnes. He also has guys like Suggs, Terrance Cody, Ngata (who has also been working on his pass rushing technique), and Sugar Ray Lewis also bringing the heat with him who teams will most likely game plan against. He is in a system he can thrive in IMO.

I think it is way too early to assume any of our draftees will be starters. Possibly none of them. I do think that almost everyone of them has the ability to make some type of contribution and even make an immediate impact.

I see David Reed making an impact returning kicks. Parmele did a fantastic job doing it last year but I just have a feeling Reed will be beat him out for the kick returning duties this upcoming season.

I can see the TEs making plays too.

I see Dennis Pitta making a big impact. Both of the TE's are important considering how injury prone Heap is, and I think both will be big for Flacco and the passing game. Imagine this year. He not only has some fun weapons with Boldin and Stallworth but he has some big TE's to throw to that he didn't have last year.

And I see Cody making a huge impact. Since neither Cody or Kelly Gregg have the stamina to play a lot, they are a perfect balance to spell each other half the time.

I think Pitta, Dickson and Kindle are going to have the biggest impact this season. In fact, I think Pitta and Dickson will turn out to be gems/draft day steals. Cody will also be huge up front, no pun intended.

I have to go with both Kindle and Cody making impacts as backups to start their Rookie year. I think they will rotate with starters to keep our starters fresh and minimize injuries.

fully agree..David Reed really intruiges me, and he has so many ways to get on the field and talent he is bound to get on the field and have his chances on Offense and ST.

The TEs i also agree I would lean more Pitta as his hands are just unbeleivable but I think both him and Dickson will get worked in. in their own respective roles

Ya know, for years I have missed having Pete Boulware. Love that guy.

Now, it looks like we may have a Boulware incarnate in Kindle. Sergio Kindle is extremely talented; and dont be surprised when he takes over for JJ at some point in the upcoming season.

I think Cody will get off to a faster start. But Kindle cant, and wont, be denied.

Kindle in a landslide; I dont think it will even be close.

I see Kindle making an impact too but am not sure if he'll supplant J.J. this season.

one of the TE's are going to have a huge impact. the fact that we chose 2 back-to-back in the draft tells me they liked the 2 TE sets some teams threw at us and want to use similar sets this year. i feel the idea behind taking two of them is that at least 1 has to work out, and if both do we're set for years at the position. they will both have a shot to shine this year; i bet both play well but 1 of the two will really break out as the heir to heaps thrown.

as a classic TE i see Pitta filling more of heaps role in the blocking and catching over the middle type of player... but dickson is more versatile as a pass catcher in that he can line up as a TE, in the slot, or as a wide out.

we went from having a poor group of WR and one TE, to now having one of the most feared groups of WR's and TE's. our pass-by-committee approach is gonna be scary for DC's

While it is a great question, I think this can be best answered after training camp reviews. However, there are a lot of potential candidates. I don't know why, but I strongly feel Dennis Pitta is somebody who will stand out - just don't ask me why but just a strong gut feeling...

I hope its Kindle because that means he's getting to the QB.

I initially thought it would take Kindle to get double digit sacks this year for him to be a success and our defense to be dominate again. But I talked to my brother and he made a good point if Kindle gets 5 or 6 sacks that will be huge for our defense. Along with Barnes, who got 3 sacks and a forced fumble in 4 games last year, we would have 2 good pass rushers and one elite pass rusher (Suggs). That's a nightmare for any offense when we can get to the quarterback with multiple players.

Ed Dickson, he's probably going to take over for Heap midseason.

I wonder if the old "HEEAAAAPPPP" chants will be replaced with chants of "DDDIIIIICCCCKKKKKK!!!!"

:lol3:

I could see a familiar refrain from Baltimore days gone by with a loud "E-DDIE". Man, I loved that sound back in the day. It could stand for "Ed D." in Ravenspeak. :)

IT just doesn't sound as catchy....or appropriate lol.

But wow, I was not impressed with last year's draft at all besides Oher and Webb but this year I see a lot of guys who are going to come out and play with the hair on fire. Very Excited to watch The Amazon rush the passer and I think him and Cody will be on the field for a pretty good amount of time this year especially in December. I think Pitta and Dickson will be the best matchup to watch in training camp cuz they are both steals! Salvating at the idea of 3 TE sets. But I think Art Jones is a name that we will be hearing a lot down the road. He is a freak. I am just really pleased with the guys we drafted and the undrafted we invited to our camp.

id expect cody to make the biggest impact. even if not a starter he will be in there for goalline situations as well as running downs. hes not gonna put up the big numbers, but thats not his job. as for the rest of our rookies, i can see kindle (pass rusher), pitta/dickson (red zone and middle of the field threats) and reed (return man?) also making impacts this year, one way or another
