Jenkins has always been stout against the run...the interview brought nothing new to the table other than hes losing weight. Birk/Yanda/Grubbs, handle Hampton twice last year, and Wilfork twice last year. And they HANDLED Wilfork in the playoffs, ill go on a limb to say Wilfork is a better NT than Jenkins.

Just all comes down to who executes better, when teams are this evenly matched.

Not to mention it will be his first game back after ACL surgery. No way he's the same player he was before the injury, especially Week 1.

The Jets run defense was competent but not exceptional last year, and they didn't add anything to it. I expect us to have a run centric attack against them.

Just run to Cromartie's side and make him tackle Rice.... or try to at least :P
You know what, while diving out of the way Cromartie would probably get tangled up in his legs, some how taking him down preventing a 50+ yard TD, earning him the title of "Worlds Bestest Tackler" from the Jet part of New Jersey.

For all intents and purposes they're adding Kris Jenkins seeing as he was out for most of last year. That said, I think we have too many weapons for the Jets D over the course of a game. If we can weather the pressure during the first half I think we can really bring them to their knees and finish the game off with Rice coming at them from all over the place.

Surprising, I feel Ray Rice will have success on opening night, although the Jets shut down the run last year. I'm watching the Jags-Jets game last year on NFL replay, and MJD, who is highly comparable to Ray Rice, is tearing it up. He is using his small size and strength to make people miss, and that's what Ray does best. If we can get Ray Rice the ball with room to work with, I'm sure he could be effective.
If i do recall Jenkins wasn't playing in that game. I think Ray will have a decent game against them running outside and catching out the backfield but I dont see him doing anything up the middle.

We can do anything against the Jets, including run. That whole "organized chaos" deal will get them torched like the Colts used to do to us. We are to the Jets now what the Colts are/were to us.

Well, Rex has effectively made Revis head grow to monumental proportions. I heard he 's asking for a 20mil. per contract. Revis said it wasnt true but he DOES want to be the highest paid CB. Heard it on NFLN. Sorry, no link
While everyone would agree that Revis is a shutdown CB, Ryan's constant praising of Revis was not good from a business point of view. Of course, Revis will expect a big paycheck - obviously the coach loves him. LOL Good luck with re-signing him without paying a small fortune!

Who cares about the Jets? The league's most overhyped team is going to get stomped. The best they can hope for is to rack up a couple sacks and force a turnover or two, so that they wont be completely embarrassed. Sanchez is going to cry like a little girl by the time the game is over.

I'm more excited to play the Saints. The defending Champs passing the torch to us is going to be a beautiful moment :)

You're saying the Jets are over-hyped and the Ravens-Saints game is bigger because they are the defending champs who will pass on the torch? Put pipe down. Saints are good but not that good. Saints will be a match up but the Jets defense and Run game is going to be amazing, and if you dont wanna realize the talent then fine....we understand you're still upset about Rex leaving Baltimore...get over it!

LOLwut...

Fly is most definite not bitter about Rex leaving Baltimore. No one in the Ravens organization is, actually. They could have kept him, as a head coach, but passed him up. Now, we have a great foundation for the future... without Rex Ryan.

Wait....before I go show all my friends your post so that we can point our fingers and laff at you, please explain to me how the defending Super Bowl champs are "good but not that good", yet the team that barely backed it's way into the playoffs is so amazing. I am very interested in hearing your words of wisdom.

Oh, and Rex can kiss my behind. Well, not really, still hope he enjoys success with the New York Ravens...but if you're not with us, you're against us.
