The PS3 gives you more bang for your buck.

Though both are comparably priced, you'd have to buy an additional network adapter to get a wi-fi connection on a 360, and you can't play Blu-Ray discs on a 360. Theoretically, with all the little minor add-ons, you'd have to drop a pretty dime to get a set-up that would compare to the value of the PS3. You'd basically have to buy a Blu-Ray player along with the 360 and its add-ons have a close enough home entertainment system to just buying a PS3 alone -- and Blu-Ray players are usually more expensive than the PS3 itself.

Additionally, PS3 controllers have a slightly longer battery life and a longer range with Bluetooth connectivity. On top of that, the PS3 allows you to upgrade your hard drive to any available capacity on a 2.5" SATA disk inexpensively, whereas the 360 requires proprietary drives that are inherently pricey. The PS3's DVD upscaling feature also works better via HDMI connection than the 360's, and because the PS3's Blu-Ray player is BD-Live enabled, it is "future-proof" in the sense that its firmware can be upgraded while other retail players cannot.

The selection of big-name games for both consoles are virtually the same now since console exclusivity isn't viable in today's economy, and though the PlayStation Network doesn't emphasize its social aspect enough, its service is comparable to Xbox Live, depending on your personal home internet connection speed.

lol. No one will EVER convince Franny that XBOX360 is better than PS3. lol
Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever...EVER.

Plus, the 360 has the highest rate of failure of the three consoles on the market right now. That's also taking into account the Xboxes with the latest chipset.

The PS3 will last a lot longer as it is also a lot more reliable. IMO 360 looks more cartoony and the PS3 looks more realistic. It's a no brainer for me, PS3.

PS3! End of story! :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047
If Microsoft can figure out away to jimmy rig a blue ray player to the X-Box like it did with the HD player, make an exact copy of the PS3 controller,..... You know what forget it PS3 has all of that already.

2 years ago everyone would be saying 360! 360! 360!, PS3 is starting to take over due to it's value.

aren't the controllers already pretty similar... minus the D-Pad and Left Analog stick in 2 different spots?

Similar enough, but the Xbox controller is a little heavier and feels more bulky. Additionally, it's not ideal for fighting games since the analog stick isn't as easy as a D-Pad given the 2-D nature of some special move inputs.

I got a 360 a year ago because all my friends have Xbox Live. I find xbl to be easier to use with alot more people online, and they have a mic. I got a PS3 last black Friday. And I love it. Only played a few games on it tho. I mostly used it for Blu Ray movies, but then I started watching them on my gaming PC. I will fire it up soon to play god of war. I like on the 360 that you can install the entire game to the hdd, and the console is completely silent. Then again the ps3 is almost dead silent, even tho it only allows partial install of a game. Both regood consoles, but I prefer a PC with true 1080p any day with Dx11

To be honest the 360 controller is a copy of the playstation 2 controller, they just move the D-pad.

I actually think the PS3 controllers are a tad too small, they should make them just a little bigger(on the bottom where your pinky and ring finger go) so they are not so hard on the fingers.

ok big problem and I think this is why most nfl players prefer the 360 ps3 controller not designed for those of us with big bear paws . also anyone smoke and own a ps3 if you smoke in the house have fun if you ever have to get yer ps3 repaired cause warentee is voided , dont think you can sneak it pastem as a hardware tech tar sticks to components and leaves a brown residue. now here is the other problem with the ps3 , its losing companies due to its difficulties to program for , most console game makers know nothing of cuda and alot of the pc ones that due have MS exclusive contracts. but most of my gaming save madden is done PC

On the contrary, developers are starting to embrace the PS3 and develop for it first when doing a multi-platform title. Their reasoning is, programming will only get more complicated as the industry evolves, so better to get used to it now and make a comparable graphical port between platforms, than have the PS3 version fall short of the 360 just because it was too difficult to upscale.

Itagaki-san (Tomonobu Itagaki), infamously outspoken former lead designer for Tecmo and Team Ninja (creators of the "Dead or Alive" and "Ninja Gaiden" series) changed his tune on the PS3 after learning how to work with the architecture. At first, he hated it -- I mean, absolutely hated it. But, once he took some time to learn its intricacies, he found that it was much more powerful than the 360 but its potential was untapped. This guy is an eccentric in every word, but when it comes to video games, he knows his stuff. He has said recently that he actually prefers working with the PS3 to the 360 because the 360 was "too simple."

It's all good about the warranty because it is only a year long, and I bet around 99% of PS3's make it past a year. My first PS3 60 gig model with 4 usb slots lasted around 5 years, a lot of hours we're racked up in that time.

I like the new Sony Protection Plan. I believe $60 covers you with an extended warranty for a year, maybe two years, I forgot. That's just the price of a brand-new game at retail in case your PS3 breaks down, and they'll replace/repair it, no questions asked.

Yeah it;s called the Sony PS3 hehe. The one thing that I HATE about the slims is no PS2 playback compatibility. Popped in my Megaman X Collection PS2 game and it says not compatible, grrrrr.

There are rumors that Sony may enable PS2 backwards compatibility via software emulation through a future firmware update. The reason why backwards compatibility, even through software, has been de-emphasized by Sony is because they wanted to squeeze the last few dollars out of the PS2 with this final price cut to $99.99 a year ago. Sony is probably saving software emulation as its final nail in the coffin against Microsoft once they've seized enough market share, with the mentality being that they can finally say their "It Only Does Everything" slogan really is true -- especially after their motion control peripheral comes out in competition with the 360's Project Natal and the Wii itself.

oh please! You're reaching now Franny.

Ya know why XBOX was even able to break into the scene? Because play station ALWAYS crashed back in the day. Playstation will never surpass Xbox.

The one time I will agree with warden.
Lol I will swear by the 360 simply because I personally have broken 3 Sony systems in my time. 2 ps2 and one of my friends ps3. Don't ask me how but the 360 can handle anything I throw at it

Which Playstations always broke down Warden? I've had every one and out of all of them my PS3 lasted the shortest, I had my PS1 for over 5 years, my PS2 STILL WORKS and it's been running close to 10 years for me, my PS3 lasted just under 5 years. Funny thing is about 4 of my friends have 360's and ALL OF THEM at some point or another had to send their's in because of them failing, one of them is actually on his 4th Xbox.
