Ravens Vs Jets - Game 1 of 2010

34 posts in this topic

The thing about the Jets is that they cancel out most of our strengths with excellent units of their own, esp. O-line D-line and LB's,

Cromartie's like Lito Sheppard, started his career hot but has become mediocre since. He doesn't add as much as it seems, and Kyle Wilson is a CB having his first game. They look good on paper, but Mase and Boldin might abuse 'em. Revis isn't unbeatable but he is the real deal. Leonhard's a good safety, as we know, but losing Kerry Rhodes should be a big hit. Their default pass rush, even with Kris Jenkins, we can handle. Hopefully, we'll be ready for their blitzes, a key team strength.

Ray Rice is certainly better than Shonn Greene and an aging LT. Our receivers are better than theirs without Santonio, though Braylon is dangerous when he doesn't forget to wipe the Vaseline off his hands after pregame "warmup" and drop everything.

I'm imagining at least 1 or 2 turnovers since our offense will be in early season form against that D in a raucous environment and Rex's blitzes. Sanchez will certainly be forced into at least one.

The defenses should dominate since they tend to gel better early in the year. I'm thinking Ravens pull it out 17-13.

A lot of people forget about our depth on offense.

Boldin, Mason, Stallworth, Clatyton, Heap, Dickson, Pitta--- they all can't be blocked.

Rice, McG, McClain--- three probowl running backs in their prime.

One of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

Their defense is great, absolutely- but not everyone can be covered and we'll make light of the mismatches. Plus Sanchez is a bum.

Yes, an offense that is yet to prove anything!

Well they proved they can run the ball so I guess they proved something... Also that our O-line is a force to be reckoned with. The passing game has to show improvement but as we can see with personnel changes that is probably likely. I don't think there D is "great" I think there scheme is but it can be exploited as it was in the playoffs.

Yeah, it's good, but losing Faneca is quite a blow. They spent a 2nd round pick on a replacement guard, but there's no way he'll match up with Faneca in his first game in the big leagues.

Our decked out D-line and LB corps vs. their O-line is an elite matchup and should be fun to watch. There's matchups all over that game, it should be worthy of watching 2 or even 3 times on replay.
