Ravens Vs Jets - Game 1 of 2010

34 posts in this topic

Folks:
I am excited for the Ravens 2010 season big time! However, I am jittery about our first game with the abominable Jets/Rex Ryan.... I am convinced we will win but I will be lying if I told you I am not nervous...
Here is my prediction:

Ravens - 24
Jets - 13

Ravens vs. Jets should be a great first game. I believe the Ravens will win. Don't want to pick a score this early - waiting to see how our new offense will do at training camp. I think the O will be terrific. We all know the D will be stellar. Def will be exciting to see our D vs. Ryans/Jets D. Has all the makings of a truly outstanding football game to watch. Go Ravens

Neither team should score more than 17, the game will be won by whichever team comes out of pre season the healthiest and the most game ready.

What happens when NFL QB meets Ravens Defense for the 1st time? He gets hammered, intercepted, sacked, knocked down and sometimes benched (like Brady Quinn). Mark Sanchez - let me introduce you to the Purple Storm !!! Good Luck running............LOL
He played us last pre-season and looked terrible - I expect the same. It might be close, but Ravens win.

20-3, Jets

Now after about ten of you have given me a negative, I would like to say just kidding. The Ravens will win, 21 to 13.

Ravens 31
Jets 10

Ravens put 2 through the air, 2 on the ground and kick a fg. LT runs for one on the ground, kick a fg. Marky Mark is picked off twice, sacked 4 times.

A lot of people are predicting big scores against an excellent defense, remember who we're playing!

A lot of people forget about our depth on offense.

Boldin, Mason, Stallworth, Clatyton, Heap, Dickson, Pitta--- they all can't be blocked.

Rice, McG, McClain--- three probowl running backs in their prime.

One of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

Their defense is great, absolutely- but not everyone can be covered and we'll make light of the mismatches. Plus Sanchez is a bum.

Well I was trying to list factors that will have an impact on who scores more, obviously whoever has more points wins.

Ravens 2009 stats:

Pass defense - 8
Rush defense - 5
Total defense - 3

Pass offense - 18
Rush offense - 5
Total offense - 13

Jets 2009 stats:

Pass defense - 1
Rush defense - 8
Total defense - 1

Pass offense - 31
Rush offense - 1
Total offense - 20

Looks like the Jets are a little bit unbalanced, but let's see where we were in 2008.

Ravens 2008 stats:

Pass defense - 2
Rush defense - 3
Total defense - 2

Pass offense - 28
Rush offense - 4
Total offense - 18

The Ravens have made major improvements to the pass offense, our weakest point. I expect some drop off in the Jets' rush defense, since Rex has focused so much on the pass. Ray Rice will be the difference maker in that game, and Sanchez is the x-factor. I expect a win.

I know.....just messing with you.

I think your factors are just as obvious as "and whoever scores more" :mcnabbtddance:

Ravens 17-10. Hey I wouldn't be a Raven fan if I picked the Jets :D . It is a tough start to the season though and has me plenty worried. But what a great start it would be. And maybe, just maybe we'll be better than advertised and spank'em bad B) .

24-10 Ravens. Bolding and Rice will excel in that game. Short passes will kill the Jets. Sanchez will eat the grass.

I predict pain and suffering and sanchez not having much clean area on his uniform , I predict mt cody will erupt on thier offense like that volcano in iceland making air travel impossible since sanchez wont have much time because they cant contain him and the rest . and once blood is in the water so to speak the man aptly in college nicknamed the shark will come back tsizzle will smell blood then one hit after another on sanchez till we see a back up

Hey Stat Guy, it's 2010 not 2009 or 2008. Personnel have changed, teams have changed, whole team philosophies have changed. Throw the stats out the window. This will be a close low scoring defensive battle between teams with similar tendencies. Ravens 17 Jets 16.

NYJ currently listed as a 3 point favorite for the 1st regular season game. This essentially translates into an actual "favorite". In the NFL, home teams who ARE NOT FAVORED by atleast 2.5 points are NOT THE FAVORITE.

Just thought Id share
