im not going to say that the ravens or any other team will go undefeated. i simply want to know why every thinks its absolutley rediculous for a team to go 16-0. everyone seems to give their take on what our record will be this season, everyone seems to say that we are gonna lose between 6 and 3 games. just seems like people have a team peg to lose a few games just because its the norm, but if your look at any teams schedule and go week by week theres no reason to think that some teams can run the gambit. after lookin at the ravens schedule theres only a handful of teams that should give us trouble. however theres no reason to believe that we cant beat every team on our schedule. again not predicting an unfeated season, just wondering why fans dont expect their teams to win against the good team. i have no problem saying that this will probably be a 11-13 win team but theres no team on our schedule, at this point, that we cant beat

Is this a serious post? You say "why dont fans expect teams to win against the good teams", but then you go onto say "this will probably be a 11-13 win team"??????

Also, going 16-0 is such a huge deal because its only been done ONCE.....EVER!!!! (fins went 14-0)

Phins went 17-0 and almost won the 17th game 17-0.

What the Patsies did was amazing; as much as I hate them, it was an amazing feat.

Steelers went 15-1 once. :D Only lost to you yahoo's. lol...., well and the Pats in the AFCCG.

You know how much I'd like the Ravens to go 16-0??? A whole lot.

You know how much I expect another team in the future of the NFL to go 16-0??? None, at least not many.

Would I rather have a perfect season than a Super Bowl win?? NO WAY. The Pats of 07 went 16-0, and looked quite out of shape in the playoffs due to inadequate rest during the season. The Colts were just trying to rest, but I believe they rested TOO much.

umm, maybe because going undefeated has only happened twice in the history of the league? One time if you count the postseason...

Ya you have to have one of the most dominant offenses and defenses in the entire league week in week out, no shutouts and then giving up 35 the next week to average around 17 a game. You have to have incredible consistency, ALL the breaks have to go your way and you cant have any lapses. And if you've ever played a sport at a high level you'll know those major factors hardly align for one particular team for 16+ games.

To say your team will go 16-0 and be serious is one of the most arrogant things a fan can say and shows you have no knowledge of the game of football.

It would be a dream come true if the Ravens went 16-0. But it probably, and doesn't have to happen. As long as we get the W's in the postseason, I could care less if we went 9-7. I think for a team to accomplish this, they have to have a whole of fire power on offense, much like the Patriots did back in '07. There was no way to stop Brady and Moss, and both were still in their prime.

To be really honest, I expect a 14-2, 13-3 season this year. But even if we lose five or more, the one thing that would me make smile the most is a SB win. I don't need the respect and all the news articles about how we went undefeated, but came up short when it mattered. Just get me the finale baby.

I really wouldn't go that far, BUT I agree it's highly, highly unlikely for a team to go 16-0.

If our passing attack is top flight like last year's below-average then it MAY be a possibility since we have a great defense to go along with a good receiving core...also the smart thing to do is rest your starters once you clinch a playoff spot to keep them healthy so we also need to have a great 2nd team or hope the teams we go against at the end of the year also clinched a playoff spot...meaning we STILL need to have a great 2nd team :P

Plus, 16-0 really means nothing if you don't win the Super Bowl. It's way overrated. 19-0 is a big deal, but 16-0 isn't.
The Super Bowl is always the ultimate goal, but I doubt any player (and very few fans) would call 16-0 "overrated."

All outside factors like injuries and momentum aside, I'd be more skeptical of the Ravens if we went into a postseason 16-0 than if we entered it 11-5 or 12-4 or something.

Of course you would; history would not favor them in that scenario.

I wouldn't want us to go 16-0. If you ever watch the Dolphins superbowl special (and the 1998 Broncos superbowl special) on NFL network all the players interviewed said the pressure of having a perfect season strained them and overtime they found themselves over-thinking on the field. Main reason the Broncos didn't go undefeated was because of that fact.

EDIT: What made the Dolphins so amazing when they went undefeated was they were a team of nobodies. Their entire defense was 6+ round draft picks or undrafted free agents. They have the nickname "no-name defense".

Just another topic about nothing.
I hate to admit it but that 15-1 run Steelers had was pretty good. Not this year, though - I got the feeling our purple "yahoo's" will beat Squeelers twice.

7 of the 11 starters for the 98 Broncos were 6th round or later or undrafted as well.

You think you're going to sweep us? Remember, you're also going to have to beat the Bengals who swept BOTH of us last year.

On paper, I think you guys beat the Patriots; 50/50 on the Jets and I think the Saints crush you (probably us and the Bengals as well). Who really knows, but that's what I'm thinking on May 18th.
