Patrick Crayton And Ronnie Brown

8 posts in this topic

Im not starting any rumors but ive heard ( a while ago on espn ) this could be Ronnie Browns' last season in MIA and also recently Patrick Crayton is very unhappy with the Cowboys......( both could end up playing for new teams next year )..... How would yall feel if we took one if not both of these players next season if feasible?

Say cutting Mark Clayton or Demetrius Williams for Crayton
and getting Ronnie Brown then trading McGahee for draft picks???

I don't see either Crayton or Brown becoming Ravens.

Crayton will be 32 in 2011 and has been an average WR his entire career. As for Brown, some team will pay him good money to become their feature RB or join a top-notch committee. Not only will Ray Rice likely need a big contract after the 2011 season and Willis doesn't have trade value.

Crayton is entirely too old for a position where we already have an aging veteran. We do not need another receiver with double digit years underneath his belt. Brown's not needed either, Rice and McGahee work perfectly for the team. Rice is the featured back, and McGahee is a great back-up. There's no way we bring Brown in as well, not when we already have a featured back and there are plenty of teams that could use him much more than us. This isn't a Madden or fantasy team.

Agree, as much as people like to trade McGahee I want him to stay paired up with Ray Rice until his time runs out with the Ravens. His contract does cost alittle more to be a back up, but we can always work something out to retain good player. Let McGahee retires as a Ravens :th_happypills:

I don't think he ever said that the Baltimore Ravens were a fantasy or Madden team, so calm down. He's just trying to help the team out and find out ways to do so.

But we don't have the need for either player. Ronnie Brown would be nice if we didn't have Willis. Brown is a beast, but Rice is more beastly. As for Crayton, we would just use him for returns but we're pretty muched stacked there. Either way, I would love Brown here, but not going to happen.

Patrick Crayton: No, too old and we have young receivers in Marcus Smith, Eron Riley and Justin Harper waiting in the wings for their turn.

Ronnie Brown: No, As someone said Ray Rice will be due for a contract and I gotta think that Ngata is the player to get a shiny new contract this year and Rice will be paid next year. Plus Willis is not going nowhere. Sure he is getting like 3 Million or something like that, but it's uncapped, who cares what he makes. Of course his contract will be a problem when the cap does come back but I'm thinking Willis will be here for at least 2 more years and than he will be gone.

Not happening. I say NO to both of them. There are a lot of reasons to list, but here's few big ones:
1) No Need On This Team At This Time
With already Rice & McGahee in place, not worth taking risk with R.Brown
Our WR's corps are Stacked
2) High Price Tag
Both players would cost "starter salary" contracts, most likely in high bracket
3) Age and Injury Issues
For Crayton it would be question of age and quickness
For Brown it would be question about his previous injuries and durability over the course of the season
So, good 'wishful thinking', but I don't see it happening any time soon.
