14-2 (even my 13-3) is a little generous. The Texans game could be a difficult one, if Schaub plays well and isn't injured. Truthfully, the Steelers might even be able to pull out a win it Baltimore, who knows. I could very well see a 13-3 record, but 11-5 isn't out of the question either.

I'll say 11-5. Possible losses to Jets, Pats, Bengals, Saints and Falcons. i think we'll sweep the Steelers & Browns.

I actually think we'll win the Saints game. It's at home in the cold, and they are a passing team. Granted, it'll be close, but I think if our secondary can actually hold together and we at least have Washington or Webb back, or both, there's no reason we can't win.
That being said, I say 13-3. Granted, this if all goes according to plan. Depending on how badly we're hit with injuries, I'd say at least 10-6, easy.

I would say 11 - 5. With not truly addressing the CB situation, the good QB's will continue to pick us apart in the middle, even with the added pass rush. I hope to see our corners coming back from injury to be able to perform at the same level they did before they went down. It's doubtful though, these type of injuries generally take two years to recoup from.

I agree with you. 11-5 is just right for us. Which means if the ball falls the right way in a couple games we are 12-4 or 13-3, but thats with a little luck. Should be a good year, and with our injuries our defense should get better as the year goes on, and hopefully our offense gets better as the year goes on with new developing chemistry and youth too.

I'll go out on a limb and predict that our defense will actually be better than last year once Webb and Washington are fully recovered.

Why? Well the additions of Kindle and Cody are HUGE, I don't think they'll have too much impact this year. The reason we'll improve is because with an improved offense, our defense will improve as well. Sustained drives = more time to rest and game plan for the defense. If we can take the lead early and consistently score points our defense won't feel so much pressure, they'll be more aggressive and confident. And with the emphasis we put on pass rush this off season I have a feeling we'll improve drastically in that area while remaining a dominant run defense.

And naturally, the better the defense does the more possessions the offense gets... that's why our team is so dangerous, we have a balance between offense and defense.

I think that Cody will make more of an impact that Kindle will. I have a feeling Kindle won't see much of the field unless it is a pass rushing senerio, but Cody will spell Gregg, and I imagine they split the time. If Kindle can be the compliment for Suggs, like Lamar Woodley is for James Harrison, so Suggs can get freed up that will help our defense immensely.

Our defense has improved a lot because we have the potiential to get to the quarterback.

i really believe cody will be much like a webb a gem that shines as the season goes on. i think we will be 11-5 but as long as we have a winning season im happy. i really see the defense an offense being top 10 this year.

Overall 12-4. Losses: @Bengals, Dolphins, @Texans, Saints.

First off, I think we the talent to be a 13-3 14-2 type team but I really don't think the league likes us. We're not the type of "market" the league wants as it's premier team. Not only that I would rather, and I feel the team would rather, us be an underdog going into the playoffs (not that a 12-4 is a real underdog to anyone) but we just never seem to get the credit we deserve nationally.

Reasons: Bengals are a tough team, solid D and usually a flaky offense. They usually start hot and trail off so I see us losing early away as the offense starts off on fire and the D is stout. We struggle a bit early on against a divisional foe to get the passing game going (since this is our 1st chance to air it out as we'll have to run to beat the jets.)

Dolphins: after the bengals a pattern during a 5 win streak develops (1 easy, 1 hard, 1 easy, 1 hard, 1 easy) and we lose the 3rd hard game. dolphins always have an underrated team, and with brandon marshall they finally have a legitimate if not premier pass game. our D is tops, but 6 game streaks are rare, and i think we slip just a bit to the Phins in a close, low scoring game.

Texans: We may be healthy at DB by then, but schaub/andre are the first Elite aerial threat we face (Pats might be elite, but not against us and esp. if brady's safety valve isnt back). We lose and give up a ton of passing yards, but ends up being great for us. A wake up call to tighten up the passing D. It's a good wake up call for us coming up on the playoffs.

Saints: We lose in a shootout. Flacco has a career game spreading the ball around and giving brees a run for his money, however i think the saints weapons get one more score than us... saints win by 1 on a game winning field goal.

We don't usually sweep Pittsburgh because both teams win on their own turn, more often than not. This year, the Steelers are going to be without Ben at home against us, and then they still have to play us in Baltimore. Sorry, but it looks very good for a Pittsburgh sweep this year.

I'm not arguing or anything, but I find it incredibly amusing that the majority of people posting in NFL-type forums are saying the Jets will beat the Ravens. Their entire offense is built around the run and they'll be missing two key receivers the first game of the season.

The Ravens are a significantly more powerful team than the Jets are, in almost all aspects of the game. If we put up 14+ points in 4 quarters we'll win the game. The Jets are a good team, don't get me wrong- but we're a much more rounded team then they are- our only weak point is our corners and that won't matter much when Mark is throwing bricks all over the field.

Last year the Steelers were so bad that they lost to the Chiefs, Raiders, and Browns and we still managed to lose to them. I can't see a sweep this year, not if the Ravens keep their refuse to win mentality.

It kind of reminds me of the 2008 Cowboys game. They were playing their last game in that stadium and there was no way Baltimore could overcome that kind of pressure.

I agree with everything except week three at the Steelers-with or without Roethlisberger this is an awesome team that got better on draft day-I don't think we are going into three rivers and beat them early in the year-and that makes us 9 and 7! and like last year it will come down to division percentage to decide a wild-card.

Almost every team in the league, including the Ravens, got better on draft day. And I really don't see how they are an awesome team but that's another debate.

P.S. They don't play in Three Rivers Stadium anymore.

after reading all these reply's, everybody is saying were going this record or that record. how can you say that when traing camp has started yet nor the preseason. of course on paper we have a very good team with possibly going unbeaten this year. we have rookies with no experience in the nfl. with our track record on defense everybody is asumming we go unbeaten or 14-2 etc... granted that may be true. boldin our biggest pick-up. outstanding reciever very tough. with all that what if our offense doesnt mesh well with boldin. meaning what if our offense isnt right for boldin. look at haynesworth. yes i think he is not good, but people were thinking he was going to have a double sack year last year defense was going to improve big time etc... look at him now questionable. we are really not a passing team that much ya know. i hope cam fixes that. i am not sold on cam. maybe i am overthinking this. i have been in heated talks at work about our offseason, and people saying this and that. i have to see how these guys work together before i make any predictions. what if flacco and boldin have bad chemistry. all kinds of things are going thru my head.
