Chargers are always on the verge of the Super Bowl, but they always fall just short. Not that I find them any less dangerous, they're definitely a playoff caliber team. The Bengals have yet to prove they can put up consistent winning seasons, and Palmer is always liable to get injured. If Palmer goes down, who's their next man up? O'Sullivan? Jordan Palmer? Maybe even Russell if they do sign him. The Chargers, Jets, Colts, and Ravens have the three best chances, and the Jets are only up their due to their suffocating defense, Sanchez can't carry the team (and I'm not sold that Greene is ready to carry the load, not with old man LT behind him). The Colts and Chargers are definitely the teams to be concerned with, especially the Chargers with their tall receivers and our smaller defensive backs.

I really hope you're right but he did show up in the playoffs. Too early to tell now whether he can carry a team or not but he played great in the playoffs which most likely is a sign to come...

I think it'd be nice to see a veteran like Donald Driver get a ring.
Sure. But I would enjoy it a hell of a lot more if veterans like Ed Reed, Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason, Todd Heap, and Matt Birk got their rings first.

Gotta go with the Saints.

But I agree with (almost) everyone else about the Packers. They're like the NFC version of Baltimore. They have a better passing attack right now, but we have a better running game. Both have great defenses (even if the Packers did get lit up by AZ, remember we got lit up a few times this season as well).

Vikings are ridiculously good as well. But unless Favre comes back (please don't) they don't have a true franchise QB who can win them a SB.

I HATE the damn Cowboys. I almost hope they do make it just so we can thrash them in their new stadium just like we did in their old one.

And I won't take the Chargers seriously until someone lines them up and Heimlichs the crap out of them.

Dark horse picks:
Giants, Niners

Saints defense prob wont get all the turnovers they had last season. They need to show me they can stop an offense without multiple fumbles and interceptions.

I completely understand if I get some angry responses for this, but I kind of like the redskins. I think McNabb can make that big of a difference. Look at Favre with the Vikings. He made all the difference with that team. Yes they have Peterson and its a different situation, but the Redskins have always had a really good defense. McNabb can take them places.

While Green Bay's defense may have ranked well, their pass defense is lacking big time. I know they have Woodson, but their safeties are very questionable. Remember, their secondary looked as bad as ours in that Monday Night game.

Not angry, just befuddled.

I actually agree with you 100%. McNabb is going to make them a dangerous team, like Miami is....they're not elite, but you better bring your A game when you play them or you might get embarrassed.
I can see McNabb bringing them up to 8-8 this year. If any one of those three RB's can deal with a bad OL and come through with a solid year, I wouldn't be shocked to see them go 9-7, maybe even 10-6 if all the stars align.
Outside of Dallas, that division is looking pretty weak.

My vote goes to the Packers too.
Rodgers got to be the most underrated QB in the league, their D is simply spectacular and they also have the needed experienced players to carry them long in the post-season. Moreover, Green Bay and the Lambeau Field are hungry for a championship.

I hate myself for saying this but the Cowboys have what it takes to get deep. They drafted Bryant, Lee and AOA all of which could be potential stars in their respective positions and the fact they play at home in the Superbowl should give them extra motivation.
On the other hand, Romo could blow yet another promising season and their secondary is far from solid.

I see some guys mentioning the New York Giants and I just don't see where does this come from...
The Giants are a legendary team and all but they must improve in nearly all positions of the game to make a run to the Superbowl. They released Pierce after the injury he had at the end of the season and are now left with Boley-Goff-Sintim as probable linebacker starters unless Kiwanuka switches back to OLB. Their secondary was just terrible last year. Sure, the acquisition of Rolle will improve things back there as well as the sacking of Sheridan from the defensive coordinator position but Webster has been very inconsistent lately and Phillips is coming back from a big injury. Moreover, as far as the offensive side of the team is concerned, Eli Manning will never be a Peyton. He cannot carry this team on his own, make the impossible throws possible and control the rhythm of the game. Not only that but Jacobs and Bradshaw, who made some great plays last year nonetheless, cannot carry the load like they did two years ago. It's of no wonder that the Giants rushing game fell from #1 in the league in 2008 to #17 in 2009. If you think of it for a second, not even their special teams unit is solid. Tynes isn't exactly a fan favourite from what I've heard due to his lack of accuracy and I have no idea who is going to be the punter now that Feagles retired.

Packers definitely have a chance but I'm not buying into the Cowboys Vikings and Saints hype just because they won their respective divisions last year. Saints probably won't even win their division because I think the Falcons are a more complete team than them. (Doesn't mean they can't get in as a wildcard and win postseason games, just saying)... The Vikings, even if they do get back to the playoffs, Brett's gonna choke. Speaking of choking, the Cowboys almost always choke under pressure, let alone being prematurely named the best team in the NFC East, hosting the Super Bowl, being declared one of the most, if not the most talented team in the league, etc...

And I'm pretty sure IT WILL NOT BE :
- St. Louis Rams
- Detroit Lions
- Tampa Bay Buc's
Everybody else have a chance

What really bugs me is that people just base this year's predictions off of last year's standings. Every year it happens. But 2009 and 2010 are not related in any way, shape or form as far as standing and rankings are concerned.

I like the Packers in the NFC this year. They have a great attacking defense. They have the potential to give up lots of points if a QB is on his game (see Cardinals playoff game) because they take chances, but they also have the ability to demoralize an offense with their speed and takeaways. The Packers also have a great passing game as well, which is pretty key these days in winning the big games.

I could see the Cowboys doing some damage as well, especially if their defensive front is successful bringing pressure and Dez Bryant and Roy Williams have it going by the time the playoffs role around. I think the Cowboys could give the Packers weak offensive line a serious test.

I predict two teams will play in the Super Bowl. To go one step better, I predict there will be one from the AFC and one from the NFC.

That's right! Zhamtao: Predictions that never go wrong!
