Pretty surprising really. Even though the ecconomy is in the tank, I am still surprised to read that.
They are going to be a team to watch this season, and for some seasons to come.

Oh well, cheap tickets for us to go to the opener. :)

HA HA! This is funny, after all the acquisitions of trying to buy a Super Bowl they can't even sell out enough tickets to avoid a Blackout. I guess Rex is going to have to make more phone calls to get people to come out to the games this year. Now even though the Jets may avoid blackouts, all I know is watch the Ravens sell out in under 10 minutes.

My take on this is that, just maybe, the fans are fed up with the exorbitant prices for tickets - as well as concessions and parking - and this with the PSLs and luxury suites is the final insult.

The economy being in the tank is just the catalyst.

I heard some talkback about Woody Johnson threatening Jet's fans with blackouts if they don't buy those 10,000 seats.

Thats nuts, and those are in the same PSL ranges that are at M&T, not like the ones in Dallas.
Additionally, Johnson said the team has ruled out cutting the price of the unsold PSLs, which range from $5,000 each to as high as $30,000 each for club seats and from $4,000 each up to $20,000 each for lower-bowl seats not in club sections or suites
Its not like the 50,000 or 100,000 ones in Dallas. Mine are worth more then those for the Jets.

I do believe the owners need to be careful about overcharging the fans to death.

This is probably just a "protest" against purchasing PSLs. The gameday tickets will sell out in a heartbeat when they go on sale. Eventually the PSLs will sell out. It took us a few years to sell out all of our PSLs, too.

Good luck with that, I paid a pretty penny for ours.
