sorry, I don't mean to bash your opinion... but, the GTA IV missions to me seemed a little bland.... and outside of just screwing around in the city.... it didn't seem like a whole lot...

this game.... there was maybe 1 time I thought that this is "sorta like" GTA.... [spoiler] when a guy waved me down for help... pulled me off my horse, and tried to run off w/ it (thank god for dead eye headshots) [/spoiler]


but other then that... this game is def in the top 2 contention for Game of the Year imho (the other being Mass Effect 2)


the only issues I've had w/ it so far is the game will glich sometimes (i.e. I've seen floating boxes from wagons) but that's not really that much of a complaint... the other being I've had multiplayer issues, which I've read have happened to alot of people... and I may have fixed it for me... not 100% sure yet


I'd say skip the rent..... buy it.... after you rent it you're gonna want to anyway

If your playing on the 360, which is just about all of us, You can get an achievement for 5G if you place a women on the railroad tracks as a trains coming. Yeah I know that's sad but I thought it was funny. It has to be a women tho. The achievement is called " Dastardly"

Where's Flowers for a lady? I did all the ones in New Austin except one that I butchered and now id doesnt seem to come back (the one where you find that weird dudes horse out in Tumbleweed that was stolen by a girl, I accidently threw her off the horse, then she shot at me, then I ended her...oops). Has anyone taken the Outlaw way of life, robbing banks, stage coaches that kind of thing?

ps Im pretty sure I love this game lol.

Edit- Found the Flowers for a Lady stranger mission, Ive never explored the Montana Ford so that was why. I found the the old lady looking for her groom to be the oddest.

This **** ruined a HUGE part of the story for me in a YouTube video!!!! I was looking up something on a gameplay aspect and the video was titled innocently enough...then I watched it and the video blew my mind. I thought it was fake, then I went and checked...nope, it actually happens in the game.

Ya that happened to me too, im tryin to find beaver pelts for that flying machine fool and bam next thing I know i get cheesed over. If this game wasnt so sick, id be alot more mad lol.

Edit- Man the stranger missions really are all kinds of screwed up...I dont think Ive done a normal one yet.

I think I might know what you're talking about (I beat the game (the main missions anyway) a few days ago) so I'm going to say it certainly does happen

Even with that knowledge, it doesn't ruin the game for me...it just takes away from some of the shock value and it detracts from the emotional aspect a little bit. I'm already attached to the characters, but I hate that I had to discover plot details that way. Wikipedia corroborated it too, and I had been avoiding their plot summary for the longest time.

At the very least, I can appreciate John Marston's emotional complexities even more now, especially his moral compass since I'm playing him as a straight-up hero.

I go trigger happy all the time online, this game is ridiculously easy to score headshots. Half of my kills online must be domers. Buddy let me borrow the game for a couple weeks and I ripped through the game and tore up a little bit online... then he took the game back

Just started playing this game last night. It is very much just like GTA. But I enjoy the west theme much better than the city theme of GTA.

I get sidetrack to often with picking flowers, shooting birds, and losing my money in poker.

EVERYBODY does this in the game haha, it's just unavoidable. I think the best gambling game to play would have to be liar's dice.

You might as well make it worth it though when you pick flowers and shoot things, just look for the specific ones that it tells you to look for in the Challenges.
