Purple Punishment

Contract Stipulations

1 post in this topic

I thought of something that may be an interesting topic. I don't know if this has started yet. In light of the misbehavior of many NFL Players this offseason. Does anyone believe that teams will start implementing clauses in player contracts as to if they violate the leagues Personal Conduct Policy, their contract can be terminated by the team they play for. Contracts and cap hits are structured so crazy these days. Say for instance Big Ben had his issue. Pitt may have wanted to let him go if nobody bit on a trade. Now that Ben was released his salary could hit the teams cap. It would be protection for the team in light of a players conduct off the field. I believe it will start coming to this just to protect the teams.

Note: I would like to say I am not familiar with the leagues salary cap or contracts, so if I am wrong in something I said, please inform me. It was merely curiousity on what other may think. Mods if this is in the wrong section, please move it because I did not know where to put it
