How is it that i havent heard anything of him during training camp? i heard a lot about Cody, something about dickson and pitta and a bit about reed, but havent heard about kindle yet. is he not playing well or is something wrong with him is he injuried or something?? i think hes out there i heard something that he was subbed in because of a injury johnson is suffering from but since then no updates

Have you guys any idea if hes training and doing well in the drills?

you know i want our first pick to be productive :D

You're right. He's been with the first-team practicing with JJ out. There's an interview with him if you go back a couple days in the videos. The coaches and Ray Lewis like what they're seeing out of him so far. Kindle also said his knee feels fine, which is a huge sigh of relief for Ravens fans, at least for now.

Kindle made a bold (somewhat lighthearted) prediction the other day that he would win Defensive Rookie of the Year, but backed off those comments the following day after the veterans allegedly roughed him up a little in practice during drills and talked to him on the side about staying humble. So, I think he's starting to have his "Welcome to the NFL" moment. That said, there's not much being written about him, primarily because Cody's work ethic has been more impressive, given that Cody has drastically slimmed down over the past few months and has improved his stamina significantly for such a big man. Kindle likely won't make as immediate of an impact as Cody just because of the depth at their respective positions.

Kindle has gotten some first-team work, but he has a bit to learn. He's shown flashes of the first-round talent that the front office saw in him.

Kindle himself has talked about being taken a back by the speed NFL practices.

He played at the highest possible level in college and routinely dominated so he should be more comfortable in training camp.

I like that Kindle made the prediction that he'll be DROY. Despite the obligatory pulic posturing afterwards, shows that he is very confident in his abilities, as well as health.

Kindle will be a productive player for us for a long time as long as his knee holds up. He's the same pass rushing mold as Clay Matthews, relentless speed rusher, but he'll be working against RTs on 3rd down and pass this year, I cant see how he wont have success (not saying he'll put up Clay Matthews numbers).

Like Franny said, Cody is grabbing the headlines because he did the one thing everyone questioned him about and what kept him out of the first round, battle his weight, drop it and maintain it.

I think Cody and Kindle both will do great in the NFL. Sure, they have some red flag issues, but if they resolve them, and all indications is that this is so far the case, then I believe they'll be a force to be reckoned with, especially in the coming years after this one. The other draft picks are just the same.

The consensus I've heard so far is that he's shown speed and athleticism coming off the edge, but needs to refine his pass rushing moves from having relied on quickness alone in college.

I am a die hard longhorn fan and have watched kindle since high school ball in dallas. Dude plays really hard, if you ever have a chance to see him up close in person he is an absolute beast. His nickname in Austin is "The Predator" he gets a little off balance sometimes but will be a great player

One thing thaat the coaches mentioned was his work ethic; more specifically, his time spent learning the playbook. They said that he was syudying at the training complex very well into the night before they opened the mini-camp.

Good to hear. As the great ones have all shown, a player can get by on natural natural but coupled with a strong work ethic, he can become special.

I think he recognizes the fortunate situation that he was drafted into. There have been plenty fo great college defensive players that never panned out because they were drafted onto crappy teams with crappy coaches. Kindle seems to get that he has been set up to succeed.

Agreed. There are teachers on and off the field for him to learn from.

That's fitting, as he'll likely replace J.J. in two years.

He is going to be a beast. Lining up opposite Suggs is going to give him a lot of one-on-one opportunities.

Which further illustrates how great these veterans have been so far. Gregg was also giving the same sorts of pointers to his heir apparent, Mt. Cody. It really seems like these players are thinking bigger thaan themselves. Their personal stats are taking a back seat to the team goal. I can't wait for the season to start!

Me neither. From the young guys to the vets, everyone seems to doing their part to guide the team towards a monster season.

History is repeating itself for the most part as Suggs and J.J. will be to Kindle what Boulware was to Suggs back in '03.
