Oniel Cousins.... LaMarr Woodley, et al., are licking their chops.
Just as we saw In Ozzie we trust we gotta say In Cam we trust cuz Cam really thinks Oniel will be a good fit for the team.

Also, Gaither is a great player but I really belive Oher is a better LT and why spent LT money on a RT? Plus he gets too many penalties!

Also if we DO get McKelvin, he is not touching a kickoff return...

Doesn't moving Gaither to the right side hurt his value somewhat??

Jason LaCanfora seems to think that Gaither will get an extension after this season if he stays healthy and performs well Read It Here

If I got hit like that I'd fumble the ball, faint, bleed from my ears/nose, break about 20 bones and have a bowel movement in my pants.... all before I landed on the ground.

I hate to say it, but Cousins cannot just come in and be a quality starter. We need to sign a veteran, but I'm too lazy to see who's out there.

If Schefter reported the rumor, then I really do believe it. I would hate to see Gaither leave, since he has been a beast for our team, but if it means getting a young and talented DB instead, then I'm all for it. I just wonder who though? Byrd is not leaving the Bills. Has McKelvin really done anything to warrant a trade? McGee is getting up there in age, and is only 5'9, but he is talented.

Out of all them, I'd take McKelvin. Hopefully they would throw in a mid round pick as well. But it will most likely be their second and no players. In that case, Gaither is worth keeping on the team.

If you could recall in the 08 draft, all the analysts thought we were going to get him with the 8th overall pick.
Now that you mention it, you're right. If I recall, Leon Hall was the consensus #1 CB (but I felt Leodis was better. Still do), but McKelvin was a better fit for us.

I was glad when we targeted Flacco instead. We needed a QB uch more than we did a DB.

first who ever said that cousins would start u never kno cause that 6th round LT we picked up may start cause there would definently be fight for the RT job. second wats is wrong wit everbody keep think gaither is worth the whole world and he is not. the best that could in this trade is get a 2nd round pick cause W/O the bills having a QB they wont go no where

If we trade Gaither, Joe is going to get killed. If he doesn't have time to throw, it doesn't matter how good our WRs and TEs are.
Our entire offensive line's play is dependent upon the presence of Jared Gaither? Really? The we have more problems than people think.

Didn't Gaither miss some time last season? Did Joe "get killed" during that span?

Make no mistake, I want to keep him, but the idea that its all over if he's gone is a little extreme.

Maybe you're thinking Brandon Flowers? either way we win on our pick, no re-draft for us.

I remember that play. I thought for sure that with the 24 to 19 lead, someone on the coaching staff told him to just kneel the ball and that's what he would have done and the Bills would have escaped with the upset. I just think if we do get him, we can have him do kick returns but just tell him to kneel it when we can walk away with the win.

Just checked a few numbers and Gaither didn't play 1st game vs Cincy, or the next week at Vikes, Detroit, Chicago, or the last game at PIT.

Team (sacks allowed)
Cincy (2)
Vikes (3)
Detroit (0)
Chicago (2)
Pit (4)

Now he did start the next game vs Cincy (4 sacks allowed)
Started vs Cleveland (3 sacks allowed)
Started vs PIT (5 sacks allowed)

*Sacks allowed is Team sacks allowed, not on Jared alone.

Looks like he started several of the games where Joe got sacked most though.

Interesting, at least Schefter is credible, so this I believe. I posted it earlier about how Oher took snaps at Left Tackle today, and didn't think we should read too much into it, but now I'm starting to see why. I just wonder... can we merge this with the Gaither thread that got bumped to the second page, that we can just keep all Gaither Trade Talk in one thread.

I figured that it would end up being the Bills we send Gaither to since they did not fill their Left Tackle need during the draft. This will mostly be either a 2nd round pick in 2011 and some random player. I highly doubt it will be a first but considering it's the Bills, I'll gladly take a high second round pick for Gaither in the 2011 draft.
Not worth it at all if you ask me. If we get anything in return other than the highest thing possible, I say we lose this trade....IF..IF it happens. We seem just way too intent on moving Oher to left tackle. Not giving him enough credit for the job he did on the right side.

I'm actually really frustrated to hear this and I hope if he does go, again a huge IF, but if he does, he does really really good next year and makes everyone who wanted him out look like an idiot.

But until then, I can't stress IF enough.

Maybe we get Terrence McGee? If not I want Jarius Byrd.
Not sure about Jarius Byrd, he came off the bench and performed extremely well, his first start was Week 4 against Miami where he recorded 3 tackles and got his first interception against Cleveland the very next week. He got 2 off Mark Sanchez and Delhomme, 2 off Schaub and his final 2 came off VY and Cassel. That was all from coming off the bench in week 4, imagine how many he can get if he played a full season.

It's a legitimate rumor, based on valid sources (such as Schefter). You cannot say this is a a falsity just because we moved Oher to the left and Gaither to the right. There's absolutely no reason to lock the thread, nor is it "getting out of hand".

Joe didn't get killed, but it certainly hurt our running game, and I seem to recall us going 0-3 or 1-3 in his absence.

I don't understand why any team, let alone the Ravens, would want to get rid of probably the youngest quality Left Tackle in the NFL.

Although losing Gaither would suck, I'd give him up for a 1st rounder. It would most likely be a top 5 or top 10 pick at worst.

I know you guys want us to trade Gaither for one of their young DB's but I don't see that happening.

Ozzie would do wonders with 2 first rounders. People will bring up Boller, but that wont happen with Ozzie very often.

Ya but you have to directly look at the amount of sacks Gaither gave up in correlation to what his replacement gave up, and even how many more times a TE had to stay in to block to help his replacement compared to how many times Gaither was given help.

Gaither will be gone before the season begins... I'd put money on it if I could... doesn't mean I am happy about it, but the more I hear about him being shipped (was for Nnamdi Asomugha earlier in the week, which woulda been damn near impossible, now its the Bills) the more likely it is

Didn't Gaither say Baltimore is where he wants to be? What's the deal with the big "He will demand a huge contract!"

He wants to be here. He was rehabbing injuries early in the offseason and now he is working with the team. Let's just keep whoever we can because this is our Superbowl year. We've made the necessary moves to get in this great position to win it all. We don't need any other inexperienced players starting for us to be good near the end of the season because it might be too late when they do kick it into starting mode.

This will just be a setback in trading him and just another hole in our team.

Plus, for all you guys (including me), who think we can make the Superbowl this year, just think about this:

If we keep Gaither and win the Superbowl, he wouldn't burn us to another team for a large contract because he knows he has a Superbowl-caliber team behind him for years to come.

Yeah, I can just imagine Oz with two first rounders, like a kid in a candy store.
Could see him picking up another future HOF with BUF's inevitable top 10 pick, then trading down with our first round pick and grabbing a stud or two with that.

I dont think anyone WANTS Gaither to go.
But the reality is that there is very real chance the team trades him. So, doesn't hurt to speculate on what we could possibly get in return.
If we move him, I trust that our FO knows what they're doing. They aren't stupid.

In fact, I get a sneaking suspicion that grabbing two TE in the draft was premeditated.
Perhaps runing two TE sets is in the works, in anticipation of losing Gaither.
Then there is all the talk about bringing in a CB.

If I were a conspiracy theorist, that would look plain as day what is going on.

I just think that messing with this O-line's chemistry does more damage than good... I trust that Pat Moriarty and Co. will be able to work out a long-term deal that works for both sides that doesn't preclude us from being able to negotiate a long-term deal for Ngata.

Mod 2 or 3 please kill this , this one is getting out of hand on speculation of a Falsity
What are you talking about? This isn't a bleacher report rumor, or some wild, absurd idea that will most likely never happen. We have been wanting to move Gaither for quite some time now because of the contract issues. Adam Schefter is a VERY reliable source. He was the one who started the Boldin Rumor and look what happened. I trust Adam Schefter and usually what he says ends up happening somewhere down the road.

Just because you don't like the idea of trading him doesn't mean it is false.....that is very stubborn thinking.

no I don't like the idea of possible "false info" being passed out . if you report it have a Source that says its not a rumor and has some Fact behind it Thats why we do not accept Bleacher Report info here because its Fan Generated most often.
