With some of the scenes listed, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned one of the High School Musical movies.

That...or Brokeback Mountain

Memento - Where Guy Pearce is told of what he really does with his life and then kills the guy anyway.

Se7en - Where Morgan freeman is quoting Hemingway.

The Departed - The last scene where Wahlberg kills...Leo I believe it was.

The Dark Knight - The opening robbery scene.

City of God - Where the little kids take control of the city.

These are just off the top of my head. But I also have to give props to the final fight scene in Kill Bill vol. 1 and also the final scenes of Man on Fire and Pulp Fiction.

Alright, this is going to be corny, but when I was a kid people used to wait on line over night and even get married waiting to see a Star Wars movie (Either Empire or Jedi). That said, when Darth Vader saved Luke from the Emperor it became the first epic movie moment in my lifetime.

Too many others since to list or narrow to five.

That's the first series I thought of but I went with the "Luke, I am your father" bit. In no particular order, some of the favorite lines (and the rest of the scene) that come to mind right away:

1) "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." - Epic, especially for the time. That era's 'holy crap' movie moment.

2) "You can't handle the truth." - I really think that scene was done close to perfection and only Jack could pull that character, and the scene, off properly.

3) "Luke, I am your father." - Ho-lee crap. That was so messed up the first time I saw it, I about passed out. Knowing that they kept the actual words from the crew (the script said, "Luke, I killed Obi-Wan") and 'Vader' changed it up at the last second... priceless. They told Luke to just react to the lines... I don't know how he didn't pull a 'Scooby Doo' on that one.

4) "Carpe Diem... Oh captain, my captain" - Epic to me in part because I have friends in that movie, I went to athletic camps at the school where they filmed it, and one of my parents leased the 'cave' from the movie to the studio. But still, very cool scene(s) and the whole standing on the desk thing was awesome to me at the time.

5) "You've got to ask yourself, 'Do I feel lucky?' Well do ya' punk?" - I wore that one out on a knock-down target in pistol training. I was such a noob.

5.) Boondock Saints 2 - All Saints Day: After speaking with his uncle, Romeo & the MacManus brothers get into his car to drive over to Doc's bar. During the car ride, Romeo has a flashback to moments earlier when his uncle patted him on the hand and smiled. Obviously the first time he's ever shown Romeo any affection. Anyway, Murphy starts in about being hungry before Connor yells from the back seat, "Shut up! .. Romeo's crying."

4.) A Love Song For Bobby Long: After getting word of her mother's death, Pursy travels to Louisiana to attend her mother's funeral only to find out she is a few days late. However, she comes to meet her mother's "roommates" and comes to stay at her mother's dilapidated house with them out of spite for Bobby. Dawson wakes up one morning to see that Pursy has cleaned & organized the kitchen. Excitedly, he yells for Bobby to "come and see what Pursy did". Bobby, strolling out in boxer shorts, a bathrobe, flip-flops and a burning cigarette hanging out of his mouth says, "I see what she didn't do. Leave." I know it doesn't seem all that funny, but when you feel that way about certain members of your family, it is quite hilarious.

3.) Spaceballs: After Lonestar and his companions take their ship into hyperactive mode, the Spaceball is forced to catch-up by going at "ludicrous speed". After flying past them and realizing there is no other way of finding them, they get a pre-released copy of "Spaceballs" the movie down off the shelf. After fast-forwarding through it several times, they come to see themselves watching themselves on the screen in the movie. Dark Helmet starts a very short, but hilarious dialogue about "when does this happen in the movie!?".

2.) Stand By Me: The story Gordy tells about the pie eating contest that ends in a "barf-a-rama." I know, I'm showing my age by the mere mention of this movie. This was an all-time classic of mine, only to be preceded by.....

1.) My Cousin Vinny: I could go on and on and on with all the classic bits from this movie. In my opinion, still the BEST MOVIE EVER MADE, HANDS DOWN! I own the DVD, but still find myself watching it every time I scroll through the TV listings and see it on network television. If you haven't seen it, I really suggest you see it!

Off topic but Moon is the best movie I've seen in a long time. Sam Rockwell is legit.
Loved him in "Choke". I'm a huge Chuck Palahnuik buff and when this movie came out, I thought it was going to be some "B-film". Rockwell hit the nail on the head with his performance.

I wouldn't suggest seeing this movie unless you have a very dark seeded sense of humor.

No particular order.

Heat - Bank Robbery, open city shootout scene

Seven Samurai - Final Battle, bandit leader shoots Kikuchiyo

Braveheart - Battle of Stirling (particularly when the war hammer crushes the guy's head)

The Big Lebowski - When John Goodman's character Walter Sopchak mistakes "Little Larry" and accidentally bashes in his neighbor's corvette with a golf club

Up in Smoke - Cheech- "Hey, am I driving ok?" Chong - "I think we're parked, man" (on the median strip against a sign)

My favourite movie scene of all time is from the film Facing the Giants, the scene at the end of the movie where Larry Childers kicks the field goal against all odds and his paraplegic father finds the strength to stand up. Incredible.

It's such an emotional and powerful scene in what really is a great movie. It is so heartfelt and wholesome, I wish there were more movies like it. It's what got me originally into American Football, so I've always felt a very deep connection to it. Another great scene is the "death crawl" scene. Amazing stuff.

Two of my favorites-

1. "On the Waterfront"w/Marlon Brando- The cab scene where he says "I could have been somebody, I could have been a contender" Great scene.

2. "Donnie Brasco"w/Johnny Depp- The scene where the cop asks Donnie what "forgetaboutit" means. Classic

Boondock Saints 2 was a terrible, terrible movie. The whole movie is a disgrace to the first one.

I agree. I just watched it. The movie was just bad. Overdone in every aspect. Over Acting, Over Directing, Over Scripting. Bad...Bad...Bad...

Just watched The Professional again on BluRay, I haven't seen it in about 10 years but it's got 30min extra footage, a lot of scenes I don't remember.

Anyway, the scene near the end where Leon puts a whole in the wall with an axe and tells Matilda to leave down the air vent.
