Offensive Pick-up?

47 posts in this topic

lol exactly...he was a third round pick (i believe)and all he's done all year is get injured before the season starts...but he's one of those backs with a blend of speed, size, and power. Yeah, i would keep mcgahee, ross, and musa as third down back.

I think thats a good combination. We could do what we tried to do the year before last with Lewis, Smith, and Anderson. How we tried to mix them all in the game. The only problem was they are all the same kind of runners. Musa being our power back, our third down blocker and a short yardage guy. Ross can be that guy that goes in when we need a big play. And Mcgahee is a mixture.

Agreed. Im expecting out draft to go like this.

Round 1 Offensive Lineman

Round 2 Wide Receiver

Round 3 Traded to Bills

Round 4 Cornerback

Round 5 Runningback

Round 6 Linebacker

Round 7 D-Lineman

I agree with what you're all saying about Musa never getting the opportunity due to McGahee's presence. I would love to watch Musa start a game though. He[Musa] does help us out with special teams aswell though. He seems like he's a hard runner.

i think that the OL will develop with time, i would put cornerback up in first round. i would do some special teams guy for seventh round pick. but, as said again, runnign back is a bit redundant.

Ravens drafting an RB in the draft? Willis should choke a *****. Musa is beast on special teams and Ross reminds me of MJD. Short, physical, and hell of a blocker.

As for the special teams comment, we drafted Yamon Figurs last year for that reason. Figurs ran the fastest forty in last years draft too. i think it was a 4.27. i know Anthony Gonzalez ran a 4.27 aswell. But the O-Line will develop, but Ogden is done after next season for sure. We need someone to pick up his slack. And if we dont draft a wide out in the second round, a corner wouldnt be a bad move either.

Well, are there any good cornerbacks for next years draft???

Nobody comes to mind, but I wonder about the plausiblity of taking Jamie Silva (BC) and playing him as a corner rather than a safety? He's projected 6/7th round, but I think he's got more potential than that.

And we do still have B.J. Sams to. With the fifth pick, I think we should take a Dline man. And then use the 7th pick to take the best player available, if that's another running back, I am for that.

You know what, we dont have a 5th round pick either. We gave that up when we took LT Gaither in the supplemental draft.

1. Cornerback

2. Quarterback

3. McGahee

4. Wide Receiver

5. Gaither

6. Offensive lineman

7. Defensive lineman

I am wrong about this, we dont have a 5th round pick. We gave it up to get Gaither in the supplemental draft. So, in essence we have already drafted a offensive lineman in this years draft.

For a "5th Rounder", he's one helluva draft pick eh? I like Gaither. A lot. Hes got a lot of potential.

true that brotha. He was probably a projected 1st or second round pick, and spending a 5th round pick on him, heck, i would do it any day.

Yeah, I think he was a steal but that messes up our mock drafts that we did here. We dont have a 3rd or 5th round pick.

Alright lets see. Ill do this one over now.

1st Round - Tackle

2nd Round - Corner

3rd Round - Traded to Bills

4th Round - Wide Receiver(Potential Starter or 3rd String If Available)

5th Round - Lost In Supplementary Draft

6th Round - Linebacker

7th Round - D-Lineman

Alright. How does that look? I might be able to throw in names later, i've got to search around.

Gaither has the size and upswing to be a Jonathen Ogden like player. He needs to jump on a deep learning curve. And learn how not to let guys speed burst around his sides. But again Ogden always had trouble with guys like that too: Dwight Freeney.

I think Freeney gave Ogden problems because Ogden is 6'9. Freeney is like 6'1 or 6'2, even when Ogden could get at his lowest, Freeney could get lower which is a problem because then he cant get up under his pads. To stop him he would have to hold. I think Gaither will improve with playing time. Yanda and Grubbs did.
