Offensive Pick-up?

47 posts in this topic

Ok, before you say anything, make sure you know, my dad is a HUGE Cowboys fan, so I learn a lot about them. What I'm saying right here is that if we want an offensive pick-up, we can trade our pick to the Cowboys for anything else. I know they'll want our pick because, with a #8 Overall Pick, we can draft a cornerback. The Cowboys desperately need defensive stars- mainly cornerback-, because that is mainly why they lost. They need to get rid of Jaques Reeves. He is horrible. Now, if you ask my, I'd keep our pick, but I thought I'd just let everybody know. :)

I dont know anyone from the cowboys that im so interested in, and i think that the ravens need a cornerback to keep our defense strong for the future, in the draft.

No, the Cowboys are going to trade their two first round picks to move into the top 5 with hopes of drafting McFadden.

Oh, they don't need him that badly though

BTW, if you like Rex, then go:

S.H.O.R.A.H.C

I dont know. Both their halfbacks contracts are up. Word is Jones really likes McFadden. I dont think he wants Julious Jones back.

They arent going to get him though

They might if they can move up to the number 2 spot, which I think is held by St. Louis. St.Louis's struggles were alot like ours, it was due mainly to injuries. Its not out of the question for them to trade the #2 pick. The Cowboys have two first round picks. It is a possibility.

what about Marion Barber??? I think they might wanna build on him.

How about this. With the Ravens first pick, they draft a big name offensive lineman such as Ryan Clady. We then trade Musa Smith, and a third round pick for one of the cowboy's first rounders where we draft a wide receiver with that pick preferably Limas Sweed or Mario Manningham. Therefor strengthening our Receiving core while improving the offensive line for the future without really losing much.

I dont expect this trade to happen or anything, im just throwing the idea out there. Any opinions on it?

EDIT:

I expect the Cowboy's to re-sign Marion Barber, but i believe they would still want to continue their duel running threat by adding Musa Smith to their roster. I dont expect Julius Jones to be in Dallas next year.

Yeah but I dont think Barber is an every down back. They are probably going to bring him back but I think his role will remain the same as it was with Jones, using the two back system.

Musa's contract is up, so we cant trade him, and we dont have a third round pick. We gave it up in the trade for McGahee.

i think we wont get him and get ryan rex

I'm completely undecided on who i want for HC. I mean, garrett is looking to be the future great head coach of the nfl, but then again rex brings experience with this team. garrett has offensive abilities, but so does rex, but he's not DC, so he's not te one calling plays. and if garrett is HC, will it be the same trend of him sucking in his "specialty" area???:blink:

Good point, i forgot about the whole McGahee trade. And also, i didnt know Musa's contract was up. We've got to re-sign him too along with Suggs. Musa can be an every down back in my opinion given the opportunity.

Musa kinda reminds me of Jamal Lewis. I like Cory Ross to. He looked good againt the Steelers.

yeah, true, but mcgahee is better, and he will never get the attention or trade value enough to get a worthy pick if we dont give him enough time in the backfield. but i say get rid of PJ daniels. he is injury prone. but seriously, i would rid both musa nad pj and go with ross if i had to!! seeing ross get the chance that game vs the steelers, he tore it up when he got the chance.

Musa is upstaged by Ross, trade Anderson too

No one wants Anderson. He fumbles everytime he touches the ball. We should save our time and just cut him.

He did. We could always pick up a rb late in the draft.

well, anderson didn't get enough playing time. I mean, some backs need more time to adjust to the playing field and be more consistant.

That might be true but he's a veteran, he should be able to protect the ball better and that should be priority for him.

seriously, like i said before, ross deserves time in the backfield. he should be mcgahee's backup. picking up a rb late in the draft is a bit redundant, considering how many we already have here.

All of them wont be around next year. I wouldnt mind keeping Musa but Anderson needs to go and I have never seen P.J. Danials play.

As far as cornerbacks are concerned I really like a guy named Aqib Talib who played for the Kansas Jayhawks this last year and really brought his best game every time he stepped on the field and i certainly see him being a special player in the NFL. His drive and love for the game is so professional and something to be recognized at such a young age, and it doesn't hurt that he has one of the greatest mentors you could possibly have who is none other than Deon Sanders. He is predicted to be an 18th pick in the draft and im sure he wouldn't come to Baltimore but I would love to see him here, but wherever he goes I wish him the best of luck and I have a strong feeling he will be a favorite among NFL fans for years to come. Agreed. Im expecting out draft to go like this.

Round 1 Offensive Lineman

Round 2 Wide Receiver

Round 3 Traded to Bills

Round 4 Cornerback

Round 5 Runningback

Round 6 Linebacker

Round 7 D-Lineman

I agree with what you're all saying about Musa never getting the opportunity due to McGahee's presence. I would love to watch Musa start a game though. He[Musa] does help us out with special teams aswell though. He seems like he's a hard runner.

lol exactly...he was a third round pick (i believe)and all he's done all year is get injured before the season starts...but he's one of those backs with a blend of speed, size, and power. Yeah, i would keep mcgahee, ross, and musa as third down back.

If we draft him, he really has no choice. He could hold out and go back in the draft but he probably wouldnt go in the first round again, might even go undrafted. If that happens he risks losing lots of money.

He got his shot against the Squeelers and Cory Ross out played him. They both had good games but Ross was just more impressive.

Well, are there any good cornerbacks for next years draft???but really, if we get a corner, we simply move rolle to nickel, and he'd do better than ivey there. and move ivey to backup the new guy, and derrick martin backing up mcalister. or, mcalister and the new guy with rolle backing up mcalister and ivy backing up the new guy, wiht derrik maritin as nickel (doubt that would happen)
