Part of me is inclined to believe that maybe his life has spiraled downward again; he did have a cocaine problem for awhile. But, that's just speculation on my part.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

If he was doing coke during his playing days...well, even Michael Irvin got caught, so...

Didn't mean to sound antagonistic.

I've just read a in few places he got high on various substances throughout his playing career. I was rolling when I saw this video: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/video/nfl/2010/04/23/042210_lt_coorslight_beers_nfldraft.SportsIllustrated/index.html

Man, and I had hoped his glorious work with Dan Marino in this NutriSystem commercials had been a sign that LT had overcome his checkered past. One of the top two best linebackers to ever play the game, the dude revolutionized defensive play... and he can't seem to keep his nose out of trouble. His huge past with cocaine is one thing, and it seemed he had finally stayed cleaned. But now he's allegedly raped a girl? Not even a woman, but a fifteen year old girl. I'll always appreciate and respect what Taylor's done for football, especially for hard nosed defense... but I can honestly say that I'm glad our Ray Lewis doesn't have the issues and problems Taylor had, and still has.

Sad state of affairs... I mean, 15 years old? Come on, LT!!

Looks like he won't be doing any more Nutrisystem commercials either.

The NFL's image is taking an absolute beating this year.
It really has. Even I'm starting to look at players differently, and I hardly idolized them before. The casual onlooker must think that every player in the league is a rapist, druggie or drives under influence by now. It's gotta kill Goodell, since this was pretty much his mandate.

Our Ray Lewis is very religious person. People who are religious are seldomly done anything against humanity and laws.

Taylor probably gets respect from me as a football fan, but outside of that he's a disgrace for such HOF player. Best example is Michael Jackson; I love his music, but in reality I dislike his personal life.

nope or this thread will get locked man i hope this is false tho
Yeah, I really hope it's just some big mistake. I was happy to see Taylor was getting his life in order and keeping it in order. As much as I hate it, I could stomach knowing that one of the best linebackers to ever play the game was a cocaine addict who'd send hookers to opposing teams hotels to try to make them tired for the next game (lol...). But I can't stomach him being the rapist of a 15 year old girl.

What a disappointment. I grew up on the original "LT." I've always supported him and loved him, but this is disgraceful. I'm praying it's not true.

Being charged with 3rd-degree rape of minor and patronizing a prostitute.

Still speculation, on the plus side if he's guilty I get some nasty return fire ammo for all those LT/Lewis G.O.A.T debates.

It's such a shame. If it's true, and judging by how fast an arrest was made I'm assuming that the evidence is pretty damning, he deserves to go away for a LONG time.

IMO I don't think it happened. It's just ALL too convenient for the plaintiff.

Her story..... She runs away from home, lives with her abusive pimp, has sex with LT, on the way home she realizes the error of her prostituting ways and text messages her uncle and the police are notified. It's been stated she has encounters with other men for WEEKS! She was a prostitute for WEEKS if not MONTHS... so she waited until a rich, retired hall of famer comes along to call rape? C'mon.

Did you see LT in the court? I've never seen a man so worn down and defeated in my entire life. My belief is that yes he hired a prostitute but when she showed up one of 1 things happened:

1) she realized who he was, made a comment about it and he asked her to leave but still paid her the money for her inconvenience.

2) he saw how young she was and kicked her out.

What is he doing around a 15 year old hooker in the first place?
I'm okay with the coke problem he had; everyone has their demons and deserves a chance to redeem themselves.

But this is a disgrace. Not to the NFL, but to society as a whole. If the allegations are true, which I get the feeling is a very strong possibility, then he needs to have his johnson ripped off and fed to the dogs, Hostel style.

I would love to believe your version of what may have happened.
I hope that is the case.

But I can also envision a scenario where a coked up LT gets a bit too aggressive with his hired help, and traumatized her to the point where she realizes that she needs to stop doing this before it costs her her life.

At any rate, who hires hookers without checking out the merchandise first?? That's what makes me wonder if he knew what he was getting into. You'd think a guy with so much to lose would be more careful.

Things you need to remember....

- The girl was 16, she ran away from home with she was 15.
- Having SEX with someone under the age of 17 in New York is considered RAPE, regardless if there's candles, it's mutual and you make slow passionate love for hours. Because she's legally a minor it's rape.
- LT did not have alcohol in his system nor did he have drugs in his system, he was 100% clean when he was arrested.
