Thought i'd start a new topic

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett left the Ravens training facility today without accepting the Ravens' head coaching position.

"It's been a good day, but I'm going to continue on with the process," Garrett said

Next man up!

Yeah, I am excited. I think we need to go ahead and give Rex that second interview before he boards the plane to Atlanta.

ESPN just reported Garret is scheduled to land in Atlanta around 7pm.

Great. Hopefully ATL hires him and we can at least talk Rex into coming back as our d coordinator. Atlanta is a horrible job.

The only thing to keep in mind is that he did not decline the offer. If I were in his shoes I would look at all options & follow through with all interviews. I don;t like him leaving either - but he is probably doing what is smart & best for him & his family.

Having to be patient sucks though!!! :(

his "continue with the Process" statement is what makes me think he's not sold on the job yet and is waiting for Jerry JOnes offer, my gut feeling and opinion is Jason Garrett will not be the HC of the Ravens

I think that Garrett is really just waiting and weighing in on his options.

I dont think thats a bad thing. The last guy we hired after only 1 season of being an offensive coordinator, we ended up firing because he could never field a solid offense.

No, I think if he really wanted the job he would have taken it.

Well, he is yet to make a second interview with Atlanta and whatever other teams, and getting that second interview might just secure his thoughts about a certain franchise. Maybe, in his second interview, he's seen something that he didn't previously. I'm thinkin that that's the way he's thinking, and he is willing to be patient enough to do so.

personally being a Married Man myself, I wouldn't jump on a plane the night before my 2nd interview for a HC gig in the NFL with my Wife, be offered the job after that 2nd interview and then not accept it when offered the job, then only to come back for a 3rd time and accept the job...imho he isn't interested, it would seem he is using this offer by the Ravens to counter Jerry Jones into a offer with Dallas he couldn't refuse

I hope your right because I sure dont want a guy that doesnt want to be here. Or is to cocky to realize what an honor it is to be offered a head coaching job in the NFL. I am not saying thats Garrett but you never know.

Yeah i know what youre talking about, just like the girardi thing with the orioles. the orioles couldve offered him more $$, but his mind was with the spankees, and he had no passon coaching with the orioles. if there's no realization for what honor it is to coach the Ravens, then there's no point. but what the heck, both you and i dont know what he's thinking....lol :P

true, besides, even if we don't land garrett, there are a handful of other candidates with the same if not more credentials than him!

rex

harbaugh

caldwell

spagnuolo

singletary

I really think this is like a big slap in the face to Bisciotti and maybe some of us fans. Of course i'm not in the business as Bisciotti is. If all says is true and he has all his papers ready to be signed and to just walk out leaves a big ?. I wasn't really all for this Garret guy, but after what he did just makes me more away from this guy being our coach. But what do I know... We weren't in the meetings. These are just my opinions though. Come on Marty or Rex!!

I agree. I think this certainly drops his stock, not only with us but with other teams as well. Especially, if what we all think is confirmed and he really did have something to with this information being leaked.

let's all look at it this way......

if he did snub us, it's HIS loss.....NOT OURS!!!

I guess what we all need to keep in mind is nothing has been confirmed by our organization. For all we know someone from Garrett's camp is making all this up.

hey If I was him I would want to keep all my options open and check everything out. The cowboys might be able to match our deal while he's still there O.C. he'd be making the same amount of money but doesn't have to sacrafice his reputation of being a head coach of 2 teams with losing records while he can stay in Dallas with his proven offense a few more yrs and maybe become the head coach there or find a more desirable job. Baltimore isn't exactly the best job for an offensive minded coach.

Apparently we did not offer the money Atlanta is offering. Adam Schefter on NFL network just reported Garret went to the ATL b/c initially Atlanta has more money on the table.

I am not sure if this is a good sign - I am not saying we should break the bank on him - nut if he is our #1 choice - we should at least be competative with Atlanta.

And Atlanta is a horrible job across the board. Hopefully he signs with Atlanta and Rex Ryan comes back to Baltimore.

I understand they are somewhat apart in the money and we all know Jerry Jones has deep pockets.

Yeah, i bet when it really comes to that time, when Garrett is about to ink a deal to an HC job, Jones might just come in with something more appealing.

Let the greenhorn go to Atlanta or back to Jerry Jones. How about this for a well-experienced team; HC-Dennis Green, OC-Cam Cameron DC-Rex Ryan.

I wouldnt want dennis as HC.
