I think we will know in just a few days who will be leading our team next season and I hope it is Garrett.

Am i the only one that's a little worried about this? I mean, the guy has been a coordinator ONE year, and has had the luxury of Romo, TO, Barber, Good O-Line.....just would like someone with a little more experience/seasoning.

Also, the cowboys coaching staff got completely outcoached yesterday. The Giants made stellar halftime adjustments, put pressure on romo, started blitzing, shut down the run, and instead of making adjustments, the cowboys kept trying to throw intermediates and crumbled....terrible coaching 2nd half for the 'boys.

bingo, I agree, Barber had what 101 yds in the 1st half and then in the 2nd half totally abandoned the run, why? his play calling yesterday was questionable at best

No I'm a little worried as well. I'm not always sold on they young coordinators. But I'm sure people see something in the way he presents himself, the way he coaches.

I sincerely doubt that it will be "just a few days" til we hire a new coach. We haven't even interviewed M-Shot yet, or had a second round of interviews. And how can anyone be so high on a coordinator with just one year of experience? Don't think Garrett is some offensive genius just cuz he has the right players. Hmm, kinda reminds me of someone else....

We have interviewed Marty and everyone else we are going to interview. I doubt we will make an announcement in a few days, but I bet something will leak out giving us a huge hint. Jerry Jones hinted at both Sparano and Garrett leaving. Sparano to Miami is obvious. The Falcons have already stated they want to take a closer look at the defense (Rex), and Garrett would more then likely come here. Now I see the similarities between Garrett and Billick but they don't bother me. Billick was removed from the play calling for years and still won us a Super Bowl as a coach, not an OC. In his two seasons as OC we had a really good one (13-3) and this years collapse. Now I'm not saying he didn't have a hand in the offense before and refused to make changes, becuase he screwed that up a bunch. I just see Garrett as a younger Billick with the prior knowledge to not make the same mistakes. Garrett has a good offensive mind, he was back-up to Troy Aikmnn and won two Super Bowls including a start on Thanksgiving against the Pack which he won (He knows the QB posistion better than Billick ever could), and hes learned from Wade Phillips. Now none of these will make him a solid 100% success but I'm willing to give him a few years.

Sounds a little like the guy we just got rid of. I hope not. I would rather have Rex Ryan back.

Took the words right out my mouth. Its going to be at least another week and a half before we know, maybe longer but certainly before the Superbowl. The Ravens are probably starting their second round of interviews.

Marty hasnt been interviewed yet. They interviewed his son and will talk to him during the second round of interviews.

I'm still holding out for Rex Ryan. He's a blue collar original and fits in perfectly with the Ravens profile. Jason Garret need not get a second look. This guy's merely another hyped up NFC coach who cut his teeth on inferior 4-3 defences. Rex Ryan remains the only logical choice for HC given Bisciotti's wish for continuity and a "..win now" philosophy.

i just heard a rumor yesterday that if the cowgirls were to lose, jerry jones may think of firing wade phillips just for the sake of keeping garrett. jones really wants him to be HC of dallas one day, and with all the hype surrounding him, he probably realizes that he is going to lose him soon. wouldn't surprise me, that's how jones operates.

I also heard today that Jerry Jones expects both Sparano & Garrett to leave. And yes I do think Jolly Golly Wade Phillips will lose his job after that loss.

I think all that means is that he is a candidate for the job. Lots of speculation has been said that Garrett is our man, but at this point thats just speculation. No things have been said about what we feel, its been very quiet on the ravens office. I dont see how anyone would know anything more than what we know at this point.

Looks like, hes #1 in the list. I think Rex is second.

I hope not. I know we want a long term solution but I dont see Jason Garrett becoming a good head coach. He doesnt even have a cool coach name.

just heard 5 min. ago on ESPN that john clayton reports jason garrett is most likely now a top 3 candidate for the ravens now that the cowgirls season is over.

the report was based around the cowgirls so he didn't say who the other 2 candidates might be.

After yesterday Jerry Jones can keep Garrett. I am not impressed. I agree with all the other guys here questioning the lame play calling and generally flat play of the Cowgirls in the second half.

Gimme Ryan and whoever we can find on offense who knows how to bend and flex a offense to what is thrown at him.

This one is not Ozzie's call though it should be. Bisciotti and Cass are spearheading this search with some input from Ozzie. That's why I fear this next HC choice may be a country club HC instead of a blue collar, nuts and bolts HC the Ravens need. The logical football choice is Rex Ryan.

Yes, because judging a coach on the basis of ONE GAME is rational form of assessment.

I hate it when teams start over rating people just because they happened to be coordinators of great teams with great players. At least when we brought in Brian Billick he had led the #1 offense ever, so you can kind of see why he got a HC job like that. Garret didn't even do that. But billick is a good example why OCs shouldn't be so over rated. In case no one noticed, Tony Romo played great LAST year, and that offense was really good then too. Garret was handed a fantastic offense and now he gets credit for that offense. I'm pretty sure Jerry Jones recognizes this and could care less if he got another OC because he would probably get the same results. If you really want to analyze his OC skills, sit and look at when he does bad playcalling (like last weekend). Add this plus the ravens roster on offense and you're getting the whole Brian Billick situation again. Garret still has a lot to prove first, he hasn't even been OC for more than 1 year and already he is going to be a HC. I would even be somewhat skeptical to get him as our OC but its worth a shot, but you guys want him as our HC which is rediculous. If you fire Billick, you can't do the same exact thing all over again. I dont want Ryan as our HC, but we would be better off getting Ryan as our HC and getting someone like Garret as OC who can focus on the offense alone (look at the cowboys with Wade Phillips). I'm still praying we get Marty and Cam Cameron comes with him.

Marty has refused to come back to coaching. I see and agree with all your points about Garrett being untested as a coach and having great players, but the truth is we need to take a risk here. I was a staunch Billick supporter and for years blamed our poor performances on our OC, when he took over we went 13-3. This year was obviously a complete letdown but can't be blamed on playcalling 100%. It was a mixture of bad desicions, injuries, mistakes, and under performance from our players. Billick lost this team and needed to go, but I would not hesitate to bring in another OC as our new coach. As long as he learns from Billicks mistakes, develops our younger talent, leaves our defense be, and makes good decisions, we will have a successful season.

I really do trust who the ravens front office picks. I just like jawing and speculating about it. I just want them to pick somebody.

Whether it is Garret, Shotteheimer or Ryan. The direction we will be taking is new direction, and a new era.

Yeah and judging him based on ONE SEASON is even better. Which is all the Ravens have to judge him on. They need to go after some one with more experience.

I think it's Garrett to Atlanta, Ryan to the Ravens. Atlanta more likely to offer the buttload of $$dollars Garrett's agent is seeking. Ravens more likely to try to get a HC on the cheap. Hopefully, Rex Ryan is in the fold.

Baltimore is the better job.
