Sucks that it has to be the first game of the season. Both teams have lots of new pieces and there wont be much room for experimenting. It would have been nice to open up with the Browns and throw all the rookies in there to see what they can do.

Thats what preseason is for.

I was just thinking about the team that we have put together through the Draft and Free Agency, and all the hype on the Jets D after getting Cromartie, Jason Taylor, and Kyle Wilson.

I think it would be hilarious if we came out and dropped 40 points on them in MNF Opener. I know it sounds crazy, but it is a statement game for both teams and it wouldn't surprise me if put up some serious points on them.

I think our Offense is going to be as dominant as our Defense has been the past 10 years. I can't wait to see us take the field!!!

It's a nice fantasy but when was the last time anyone put up 40 points against rex ryan?

To be honest, I think the Jets jumped the shark and got Jason Taylor too soon.

Now that Adalius Thomas is available, I think they would much rather have him instead of Jason Taylor. Now there's really not any room for Adalius. I was really looking forward to him playing for the Jets, and shutting up all the Patriot fans who say he was the reason their defense sucked.

But either way, their defense is getting Kris Jenkins back. And in Week 1, they will most likely be very healthy compared to later in the season.

Rex is coming after the Ravens for passing over him for the head coaching job. He probably doesn't have much against Harbaugh, but I'm sure he has some animosity for the organization. It will be an all out effort, for sure.

And... not that this has to do with how the Ravens offense does. But we don't even know if Reed is coming back. People can speculate, but the fact is... we don't know.

You just nailed my biggest fear about the Jets. If they sign up A.D. and he becomes the roving X-factor ( if he still has enough in his tank ) for their defense as he once was for our defense, then the Jets will be even more of a dominate force. On the other hand, should the Ravens somehow pick up a couple of decent CB's via potential contract dumps before the season starts, we could be on par with the Jets defense. In reality, it's too early to predict the opening game's outcome until the final rosters are posted, Nonetheless, this game is guaranteed to get funky.

I really think this game is going to be brutal! In the run game, sure they have LT but hes never put up good numbers against us. Shonn Greenes run style plays right into the Ngata-Cody Mountains. "Sanchise" threw 20 picks last season, with the run game down, he wont have much to do but throw the ball to Braylon "Hands of Stone" Edwards. The other issue there is that we will not provide Sanchez enough time to make good throws, not with our Bolstered D.

Now for the other side of the ball. First off, the Jets do have a very mean Defense. There is no denying it. I for one love watching Rex Ryans D. It looks quite amazing when his guys execute precisely. However. we have a very strong Offensive Line that has spent a whole season together and should come back even better this season. Our running game is extremely versatile with Rice serving as a Dual Threat back along with McGahee as our power back, who does amazing things in the red zone more times than none. On to Flacco we go. New Year, healed up, ready to make use of his weapons! We know Joe is a very accurate QB with a rocket arm. Enough said. Now, we have Q, who will spend a good deal of time getting up close and personal with Revis. Mason is going to school Cromartie and put up amazing numbers on him. Stallworth, well whos gonna catch him at 4.4 speed still, while playing the slot?

Okay I know it seems like I am predicting a lopsided margin. That will not be the case, but we have an EXTREMELY STRONG advantage over the Jets. We know Ryans defensive scheme better than his players do right now, and we can play off of that. You think Ray isnt going to be standing next to Cameron for some offensive series? Also, Rex witnessed Cams offense in his first season here, however, Cam only gave Joe a little dabble of that play book. Rex doesnt know much of what we have coming for those Jets. I predict 24-13 Ravens!

67-2 Ravens

Jests get a safety when Ray Rice gets so dizzy from running up and down the field all day that he runs into the wrong end zone.

This will be a hard hitting game, has the feel of a low scoring game but we will be able to see what Joe has been doing off season, if he has improved in his reads, getting rid of the ball fast this will be the story. To me also this game is going to be very physical so all i can do is hope and pray that no one get injured to the point of out for the season or any amount of time, game needs to be tuff, hard battle with no injuries. Refes need to control Scott and refe the game fairly for both teams. Ravens win!!!!!

This won't be the game everyone expects it to be. Jets are obscenely over-rated as I've said 100 times on here.

Ravens: 31
Jets: 13

Flacco throws for 3 td's, Rice runs for 1, 1 field goals. Sanchez is picked off 2 times, sacked 3, held to no passing td's.

Yeah, they won't be running the ball on us, so it will be Edwards and Cotchery on the outside with Keller in the slot... we'll get plenty of pressure on Sanchez who is INT-prone, so Ed Reed and Co. should have a field day.

40 points?
Fez Sanchez would have to have the worst game of his career and turn the ball over deep in Ravens territory almost every posssession for that to happen

not sure about 40 points , I want to see - in the rushing catagory for them make sanchez have to throw then let Dbs and certian lbs like elerbe and Kindle lie in wait then boom ints and sacks then joe can get his game on , demoralize one side and the other will soon fold

I think the Jets' offseason additions are overhyped, too, especially considering some of the key contributors they've carelessly let go. I just hope our guys come out of this game healthy. Winning isn't worth losing players.

May prediction: 20-13 Ravens.

This game could easily come down to the QBs. We both have a solid running game and defense. If it does come down to which QB makes fewer mistakes, which it probably will, I'd take Flacco over Sanchez any day. So would you guys. :)

Q is the man!
Elite player, great personality, a great teammate, a fierce competitor.

And Sizzle's strongest competition as ugliest dude on the team. Maybe the offensive MVP in that regard??
Maybe for offense, but I think team MVP now goes to Terrence Cody. That dude could make nightshade wither, and not just his physique.

With Kris Jenkins back, the pressure the Jets can bring from all angles, solid front 7 and strong secondary, us putting up 40 points is highly unlikely.

I'm seeing an extremely defensive game, Ravens 13-10 maybe. Santonio Holmes being out helps us quite a bit.
