I don't see Rice breaking 3000 yards nor do I want him to. The more the ball is spread around amongst weapons like Q, Mase, Willis, Heap and others, the fresher and more effective Rice will be.

Statistics in football are talked about but what matters at the end of the days is wins and championships. The best way to achieve that(offensively) is with a well-balanced attack utilizing multiple weapons.

We need Rice fresh at the end of the season... if you noticed, his "fumble-itis" really kicked-in late in the season due to overuse. If we want to go farther this year we'll need to limit Rice's touches throughout the regular season to around 20-22 per game.

Last year defense was all over him at the line of scrimmage alot of times and he got like at least 5 yds out of nothing. Now with Q's great blocking skills just hand it off to that side and watch Rice fly. He could definitely break a 3000 yd season without a doubt.

I think Rice is a legit top 5 (at the very least top 10 back), but come on. No chance he'll break 3,000 combined. Nor would we need him to (with all our other weapons) or want him to (don't want to burn him out).

Go Ravens :baltimore-ravens:

Yeah I like it when him and Mcgahee share the ball, because then they can go all out every time they touch the ball.

Ravens 1990 is right. It just registered with me that a player would have to get a monster amount of touches and be very lucky to avoid injury to crack 3000 total yards.

As much as I love Ray Rice overworking him just to get stats is stupid. We need him fresh for the playoffs so we can run the ball all day.

hopefully we wont need him to get to 3000....that would be too much for his body..i hope we can keep him around in a ravens uniform for a very long time...funny how alot of ravens fans didnt like this pick but now they are singing his praises...

Unless you want Rice to have a short career, I hope Rice goes nowhere near 3000.

Agreed.

Didn't Chris Johnson approach 2500 combined yards this season? I won't be surprised if he gets hurt next year.

I voted that Rice will break 3000yds, but that is my ego. Honestly, I want him to be around for a very long time, so he needs to be fresh for every playoff we go to and even SB.

I can't really think of an "every down back" in the NFL... it has morphed into a 2-back (at a minimum) or 3-back system across the board.

Are you serious?.......more like 30,000 yards!

Everytime he touches the ball - Touchdown!

I second that!

Ray Rice = League MVP

He CAN, but I dont think he will.

I sat Flacco sets a few passing records first.

Rice is a great RB, lets not make him a workhorse. We have too many talented runners to allow that. The Raiders game is a perfect example- Rice was worn down from the season and couldn't make anything happen so we brought in McGahee, who was fresh, and he runs all over Oakland. As Rice gets better, we should use McGahee and McClain even more to protect him and keep him fresh for the playoffs.

With our upgraded passing weapons we should have no problem breaking all the Raven's passing records next year. We will be a balanced offense, with elite RBs, excellent WRs, and a couple young, talented TEs (and HEAAAAAP). Flacco will continue to develop as a QB, he's already shown he can air it out as well as anyone in the league, he just needs to do it consistently, when the game is on the line.

id be worried making him an every down back mainly because i feel it shortens a rb career I think if AP had a decent qb his career might be longer then it will be and I dont want Rice to burn out quick either

We are aware of what "3,000 yards combined" means. He's not getting it.

3000 yards is really hard to get, he won't have near as many catches this year (good thing!)

He might crack 2,000 total yards again but not 3,000.
